Maintenance
Wear Indicators
The groove where the wear indicator is
located is 1/16 inch (1 .6 mm) shallower than
elsewhere on the tire. If the tread has worn so
that the indicator is exposed, replace the tire.
Worn out tires have poor traction on wet
roads.
Tire Service Life
The life of your tires is dependent on many factors, including driving habits, road
conditions, vehicle loading, inflation pr essure, maintenance history, speed, and
environmental conditions (even wh en the tires are not in use).
In addition to regular inspections and inflation pressure maintenance, it is
recommended that you have annual inspections performed once the tires reach five
years old. All tires, including the spare, should be removed from service after 10
years from the date of manufacture, regardless of their condition or state of wear.

1. Push the rear edge of the handle on the
front cargo floor lid and open the lid.
2. Take the jack, extension bar, and wheel nut
wrench out of the tool case.
3. Remove the cover on the cargo area lining
to access the shaft fo r the spare tire hoist.

NOTICEDo not use the jack if it doesn’t work properly. Call
your dealer or a professional towing service.
The subwoofer, a large black enclosure, is located on
the right side under the lid. Do not store anything in
this area. Doing so may compromise vehicle audio
performance.

Once your vehicle’s engine has started, re move the jumper cables in the following
order.
1. Disconnect the jumper cable from your vehicle’s ground.
2. Disconnect the other end of the jumper cable from the assisting vehicle’s -
terminal.
3. Disconnect the jumper cable from your vehicle’s + terminal.
4. Disconnect the other end of the jumper cable from the assisting vehicle’s +
terminal.
Have your vehicle inspected by a n earby service station or a dealer.

Emergency Towing
Call a professional towing service if you need to tow your vehicle.
■Flat bed equipment
The operator loads your vehicle on the back of a truck.
This is the only way you can safely to transport your vehicle.
For very short distances, su ch as freeing the vehicle, you can use the detachable
towing hook that mounts on the anchors in the front and rear bumpers. 1.Put cloth on the edge of the cover.
Carefully pry with a small flat-tip
screwdriver or a metal fingernail file to
remove the cover.
The cover is attached to the bumper with a
tether.

NOTICETrying to lift or tow your vehicle by the bumpers will
cause serious damage. The bumpers are not designed
to support the vehicle’s weight.
NOTICEImproper towing such as towing behind a
motorhome or other motor vehicle can damage the
transmission.
Never tow your vehicle with just a rope or chain.
It is very dangerous, since ropes or chains may shift
from side to side or break.
1 Towing Hook
NOTICETo avoid damage to your vehicle, use the towing
hook for straight, flat ground towing only. Do not
tow at an angle. The hook should not be used to tow
the vehicle onto a flat bed. Do not use it as a tie
down.
