Press this button once to
lock all doors. Some exterior lights
will f lash. When you push LOCK
twice within 5 seconds, you will hear
a beep to verify that the doors are
locked and the security system has
set. You cannot lock the doors if any
door is not f ully closed or if the key
is in the ignition switch. Press this button once
to unlock the driver’s door (or all the
doors depending on the door lock
setting). Push it twice to unlock the
remaining doors. Some exterior
lights will f lash twice the f irst time
you push the button. The keyless lock acknowledgment
beep and f lashing of the lights can
be deactivated (see page ).
If you do not open any door within 30
seconds, the doors automatically
relock and the security system sets.
The ceiling light and the door
activated spotlights come on when
you press the UNLOCK button if the
lights are in the door activated
position. If you do not open any door
within 30 seconds (or whatever
setting of the interior light dimming
time is set to), the light(s) will f ade
out. If you relock the doors with the
remote transmitter before 30
seconds have elapsed, the light(s)
will go of f immediately. To change the lock/unlock setting
and the relock timer setting, refer to
the customized settings on page .
Locking and unlocking the driver’s
door will also lock and unlock the
f uel f ill door (see page ).
You can also open all power windows
and the moonroof f rom outside the
vehicle with the remote transmitter
(see page ).

µµ When you unlock the driver’s door
with your remote transmitter, each
remote transmitter activates the
customized settings related to that
remote.
Press and hold this
button for about 1 second to attract
attention; the horn will sound, and
the exterior lights will f lash f or about
30 seconds. To cancel panic mode,
press any other button on the remote
transmitter, or turn the ignition
switch to the ON (II) position. Panic
mode does not work when the key is
in the ignition switch.
Press and hold this
button f or about 1 second to open
the trunk. You cannot open the trunk
if the key is in the ignition switch.
The driving position memory
activated (Driver 1, Driver 2) is
shownonthebackof each
transmitter. Make sure you store
your desired driving position in thememory that is activated by the
transmitter you normally carry.

the remote:

When you unlock and open the
driver’s door with the remote
transmitter, the driver’s seat moves
to the position stored in memory.
You will hear two beeps when the
movement is completed. The
indicator in the related memory
button on the driver’s door remains

Avoid dropping or throwing the
transmitter.
Protect the transmitter from
extreme temperature.
Do not immerse the transmitter in
any liquid.
If you lose a transmitter, the
replacement needs to be
reprogrammed by your dealer.
If it takes several pushes on the
button to lock or unlock the doors,
replace the battery as soon as
possible.
Battery type: CR1616 Separate the keypad from the
transmitter by pushing any button
f rom outside.Be caref ul when removing
this screw as the head of the screw
can strip out. Remove the screw at the base of
the transmitter with a small
Phillips-head screwdriver.

procedure. The LED will blink once
to indicate the feature has been
turned on. You can turn of f this driving position
memory activation. Press and hold
the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at
thesametime.TheLEDinthe
remote transmitter will blink twice.
Then release the buttons. Doing this
also cancels the memory position
link setting f or that remote and
restores the default settings. You will also see the ‘‘DRIVER 1’’ or
‘‘DRIVER 2’’ message on the multi-
inf ormation display, depending on
which linked remote transmitter is
used.

The trunk will lock when you lock
the driver’s door with the key, the
remote transmitter, either master
door lock switch, or the lock tab on
the driver’s door.To open the trunk f rom the outside,
push the release switch, then lif t up.Youcanalsoopenthetrunkineither
of two ways:
Push the trunk release button on
the driver’s door.
Press and hold the trunk release
button on the remote transmitter.
To unlock the trunk, turn the key
twice to unlock the doors, push the
rear of either master door lock
switch, or push UNLOCK twice on
the remote transmitter.

To close the trunk, use the inner
handle to lower the lid, then press
down on the back edge.
Keep the trunk lid closed at all times
while driving to avoid damaging it,
and to prevent exhaust gas from
getting into the interior. See,page . To protect items in the trunk, you
can disable the trunk release button
on the driver’s door and the trunk
release switch on the trunk lid by
turning of f the trunk main switch in
the glove box and locking the glove
box. Make sure either rear seat is
not f olded down.
If you need to give the key to
someone else, give them the valet
key. Even if the trunk release is locked
with the main switch, you can open
the trunk with the remote
transmitter.
Your vehicle is equipped with the
emergency f uel lid release in the
trunk. Refer to page for how to
access it.

As a saf ety f eature, your vehicle has
a release lever on the trunk latch so
the trunk can be opened f rom the
inside.
To open the trunk, push the release
leverinthedirectionindicatedbythe
arrow.Parents should decide if their
children should be shown how to use
this feature.

Remove the rear lef t side head
restraint by pressing the release
button.
If the power door lock system cannot
unlock the trunk, unlock and open it
manually f rom inside the vehicle.

Pull up the cover of the tether
anchor point on the lef t side.Insert the master key in the lock
on the rear shelf .
Turn the key clockwise, then
release the key. The trunk lid will
be opened.If you need to unlock and open the
trunk manually, it means there may
be a problem with the power door
lock system or the trunk lock. Have
the vehicle checked by your dealer.

The head restraints adjust f or height.
You need both hands to adjust a
restraint. Do not attempt to adjust it
while driving. To raise it, pull upward.
To lower the restraint, push the
release button sideways, and push
the restraint down.To remove a head restraint f or
cleaning or repair, pull it up as f ar as
it will go. Push the release button,
then pull the restraint out of the seat-
back.When reinstalling a head restraint,
put the legs back in place. Then
adjust it to the appropriate height
while pressing the release button.

restraints can result in severe
injury during a crash.
Always replace the head
restraints before driving.

Make sure all rear shoulder belts are
positioned in f ront of the rear seat-
back, and the center shoulder belt is
re-positioned in the guide whenever
the seat-back is in its upright position.
Be sure there are no twists in any
shoulder belt.
Remove any items from the seat
beforeyoufolddowntheseat-back. Make sure that the folded seat-back
does not press against the f ront
passenger’s seat, as this could cause
the weight sensors to work
improperly.
Make sure the rear seat armrest is
stored. If the rear head restraints get caught
on the f ront seat backs and you
cannot fold down the rear seat-back
f ully, you can remove the head
restraints (see page ).
Make sure the removed head
restraints are securely stored.
To lock the seat-back upright, push it
f irmly against the trunk panel. Make
sure it is latched in place by pulling
on the top of the seat.
Do not put any heavy items on the
seat-back when it is folded down.
Make sure all items in the trunk, or
items extending through the opening
into the back seat, are secured.

To use the console lid as an armrest,
slide it to the desired position while
pulling up the release lever. Release
the lever to lock it in position where
youwantittostop.The rear seat armrest is in the
center of the rear seat. Pivot it down
to use it.
A beverage holder is located in the
armrest.
