CHANGING A FUSE
Before replacing a fuse:
- the cause of the failure must be identifi ed and corrected,
- all electrical consumers must be switched off,
- your vehicle must be stationary, ignition off.
Identify the failed fuse by reference
to the tables and diagrams below.
Access to tools
The extraction tweezer A is fi tted on
the back of the dashboard fusebox
cover.
For access to it:

 unclip the cover by pulling on the
top right, then left,

 pull the cover down,

 remove the tweezer. Changing a fuse

 Use the special tweezer A to ex-
tract the fuse from its housing
and check the condition of its el-
ement.

 Replace the failed fuse with a
fuse of the same rating

(same
colour)
Use of a fuse of different rating may cause a malfunction (risk of
fi re).
If the failure occurs again soon after
replacing the fuse, have the electri-
cal system checked by a CITROËN
dealer.

problems on your vehicle. For the
same reason, take care not to spill
any liquid in the fusebox.
All work on the maxi-fuses,
which are located in these
fuseboxes and which give
extra protection, must be carried

BATTERY
Procedure for charging your battery
when it is fl at or for starting the en-
gine using another battery. Access to the battery
The battery is located under the
bonnet.
To gain access to it:

 open the bonnet using the interi-
or release lever, then the exterior
safety catch,

 secure the bonnet stay,

 remove the plastic cover to gain
access to the two terminals,

 unclip the fusebox to remove the
battery, if necessary.
Do not force the lever as tighten-
ing will not be possible of the clip is
positioned incorrectly.
Start the procedure again.
Disconnecting/Reconnecting
the cables

The presence of this label,
in particular with the Stop
& Start system, indicates
the use of a 12 V lead-acid
battery with special technology
and specifi cation, for which the in-
volvement of a CITROËN dealer is
required when replacing or discon-
necting the battery.
Failure to observe this recommen-
dation may cause premature wear
of the battery.
After refi tting the battery, the Stop
& Start system will only be active
after a continuous period of immo-
bilisation of the vehicle, a period
which depends on the climatic con-
ditions and the state of charge of
the battery (up to about 8 hours).
 Raise the locking lever 1 fully.

 Position the open clip of the ca-
ble on the positive (+) terminal of
the battery.

 Press vertically on the clip 2 to
position it correctly against the
battery.

 Tighten the clip by lowering the
lever 1 .

Starting using another
battery Charging the battery using a
battery charger
The batteries contain harm-
ful substances such as sul-
phuric acid and lead. They
must be disposed of in accordance
with regulations and must not, in
any circumstances, be discarded
with household waste.
Take used remote control batteries
and vehicle batteries to a special
collection point.
It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is to be left un-
used for more than one month.
Do not disconnect the ter-
minals while the engine is
running.
Do not charge the batteries without
disconnecting the terminals fi rst.
Do not push the vehicle to start the
engine if it is fi tted with the 6-speed
electronic gearbox system.
Before disconnecting the
battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off
the ignition before disconnecting
the battery.
Close the windows and the doors
before disconnecting the battery.
The Stop & Start battery does not
have to be disconnected for charging.

 Disconnect the battery from the
vehicle.

 Follow the instructions for use
provided by the manufacturer of
the charger.

 Reconnect starting with the neg-
ative terminal (-).

 Check that the terminals and
connectors are clean. If they are
covered with sulphate (whitish or
greenish deposit), remove them
and clean them.

 Connect the red cable to the
positive terminal (+) of the fl at
battery A , then to the positive ter-
minal (+) of the slave battery B .

 Connect one end of the green or
black cable to the negative ter-
minal (-) of the slave battery B .

 Connect the other end of the
green or black cable to an earth
point C on the broken down ve-
hicle.

 Operate the starter, let the en-
gine run.

 Wait until the engine returns to
idle and disconnect the cables.

ENERGY ECONOMY MODE
System which manages the duration
of use of certain functions to conserve
a suffi cient level of charge in the
battery.
After the engine has stopped, you can
still use functions such as the audio
and telematics system, windscreen
wipers, dipped beam headlamps,
courtesy lamps, etc. for a maximum
combined duration of thirty minutes.
Switching to economy mode
Once this period has elapsed, a
message appears on the multi-func-
tion screen indicating that the vehi-
cle has switched to economy mode
and the active functions are put on
standby.
If a telephone call is being made at
this time:
- it will be maintained for 10 minu-tes with your Audio system or
MyWay hands-free system
- it will be maintained for 10 minu- tes with the NaviDrive, then it will
transfer to your telephone de-
pending on its model. Exiting economy mode
These functions are reactivated au-
tomatically next time the vehicle is
started.
To resume the use of these functions
immediately, start the engine and let
it run for at least 5 minutes.
A fl at battery prevents the
engine from starting (refer
to the corresponding para-
graph).
Following reconnection of the
battery
Following reconnection of the bat-
tery, switch on the ignition and wait
1 minute before starting to permit
initialisation of the electronic sys-
tems. However, if slight diffi culties
are encountered following this oper-
ation, contact a CITROËN dealer.
Referring to the corresponding sec-
tion, you must yourself reinitialise:
- the remote control key,
- the one-touch electric windows,
- the panoramic sunroof blind,
- the settings of the multifunction
screen,
- the radio pre-set stations,
- the GPS satellite navigation system. This period may be reduced con-
siderably if the battery is not fully
charged.
