Proximity sensors are located in
the
front and/or rear bumpers of
your vehicle.

reversing, at a speed lower than
approx. mph, they inform you of
the presence of obstacles located
in their detection zone by :
- a sound signal emitted by the front and/or rear speakers,
- the display of the vehicle outline with bars corresponding to the
zones where an obstacle is
detected.
When the vehicle approaches
an obstacle, the sound signal
indicates the position of the
obstacle according to whether
the sound is emitted from the
front / rear left hand / right hand
speaker. - When the vehicle approaches
the obstacle, the sound signal
becomes more and more rapid
and the bars are seen to move
ever nearer to the vehicle.
- When the obstacle is less than 25 cms from the rear of the ve-
hicle, the sound signal becomes
continuous and a warning mes -
sage appears on the display.

Air inlet
Ensure that the exterior air inlet grille and the chamber
located at the base of the windscreen are kept clean
and free of dead leaves, snow etc.
If you are cleaning the vehicle with a high pressure
washer, avoid targeting anywhere near the air inlet.
Air vents
The face-level vents (except the central vent) have
grilles for orienting the air direction (up-down, right-
left) and thumbwheels for adjusting the air low.
The rear seat positions have air vents with grilles for
orienting the air direction and thumbwheels for ope -
ning and closing the air low.
Air circulation
Optimal comfort is obtained by a good distribution of
air in the front and the rear of the passenger compart -
ment.
To obtain the best use from the air conditioning sys -
tem, take care not to obstruct the air outlets located
under the front seat, in the rear of the vehicle and in
the boot.
Pollen ilter - Odour ilter
Your installation has a special ilter for excluding dust.
This ilter should be changed at the prescribed inter -
vals (see the Maintenance Guide).
Additional heating
Vehicles with HDi engines may be itted with
automatic additional heating for an enhanced
comfort level.
When the engine is idling or the vehicle is sta -
tionary, it is normal to notice a high-pitched his -
sing sound and a slight emission of fumes.
Air conditioning
At any time of year, the air conditioning is useful for
removing air humidity and misting.
To keep the air conditioning compressor well sealed,
it is essential to operate the air conditioning at least
once in every month.
To be effective, the air conditioning should only be
used with the windows closed.
If you are towing a heavy trailer or if outside tempera -
tures are very high, the air conditioning may be tempo -
rarily interrupted in favour of engine cooling.
Water arising from condensation in the air conditioning
is allowed to drain out through an aperture provided for
this purpose ; a pool of water may thus form beneath
the vehicle when stationary.
You are recommended to have the air conditioning
system checked on a regular basis (see Maintenance
Guide).
The air conditioning uses energy from the engine to
operate. This results in extra fuel consumption
Sensor
The automatic regulation of the air conditioning inside
the passenger compartment makes use of the sunlight
sensor located over the dashboard.
Take care not to obstruct it.

2 - Recirculation of interior air
Recycled interior air (warning lamp on).
This position serves to keep out any exterior odours or fumes that may be disagreeable. It should be can-
celled as soon as possible to permit the renewal of air insid e the cabin and to prevent misting.
3 - Heater blower control
The air blower operates only when the engine is running. T o obtain optimum comfort inside the vehicle, do
not leave the control in the OFF position. Distribution to the windscreen, side win-

The air conditioning can function only when the engine i s running. Press on the button located on the das-
hboard.
To obtain air conditioning, the air blower control 3 should not be in the zero position.
Conditioned air is obtained by a mixing of warm air with ref rigerated air. The “blown air temperature adjust-
ment” control 5 allows you to adjust the conditioned air provided control 4 is operational.
5 - Adjusting the air conditioning temperature
The MAX position simultaneously triggers the air conditioning and th e air recirculation in order to cool the
interior of your vehicle more rapidly.
As soon as the air recirculation is longer necessary it should be swi tched off by pressing button 6 or by
moving away from the MAX position, so as to permit air renewal in the passenger compart ment.
6 - Rear screen demisting
Can operate only when the engine is running.
A press on the control activates the electric demisting of the re ar screen and the rear view mirrors.
Goes out automatically in order to avoid excessive consumption of power.
One press stops the demisting.
Press again to restore operation.
Note: If the engine is stopped before demisting is completed, th e latter will resume as soon as the engine
is started again.
7 - Visibility programme (max. button)

visibility programme.
The warning lamp for this programme will come on.
