YB270A2-A OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR Manual Type (Not all models) The outside rear view mirrors are equipped with a remote control for yourconvenience. It is operated by the con-trol lever in the bottom front corner ofthe window. Before driving away, always check that your mirrors are positioned so you cansee directly behind you. When usingthe mirror, always exercise caution whenattempting to judge the distance ofvehicles behind you.

If the mirror control is jammed with ice, do not attempt to break it free using the control handle or by ma-nipulating the face of the mirror. Usean approved spray de-icer (not radia-tor antifreeze) to release the frozenmechanism or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt.!

To adjust the position of either mirror:
1. Move the selecting switch to the "L"
(or "R") position to activate the ad- justable mechanism for the adjust-ing door mirror.
2. Now, adjust mirror angle by depress- ing the appropriate perimeter switchas illustrated.

o Do not leave the switch on for an unnecessary length of time.
o Scraping ice from the mirror face could cause permanent damage.To remove any ice, use a sponge, soft cloth or approved deicer.
o Be careful when judging the size or distance of any object seen in the passenger side rear view mir-ror. It is a convex mirror with acurved surface, any objects seen in this mirror are closer than they appear.

SB370A1-E INTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR The interior mirror is of the day/night type to enable the glare of headlightsfrom following vehicles to be eliminatedduring night time driving.The tab located at the bottom of the mirror should be set to the position nearest the windscreen for normal daytime driving, and flipped towards therear of the vehicle to eliminate glareduring night time driving. To adjust thefield of vision, the mirror may be moved by hand upon the mounting. NOTE: The mirror should always be ad- justed prior to setting the vehicle inmotion. HTB103B510D01HP-EAT OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR HEATER (Not all models) The outside rearview mirror heater is actuated in connection with the rearwindow defroster. To heat the outside rearview mirror glass, push in the switch for the rear window defroster. The rear-view mirror glass will be heated fordefrosting or defogging and will giveyou improved rear vision in inclementweather conditions. Push the switch again to turn the heater off. The outside rearview mirror heater automaticallyturns itself off after 20 minutes. SB360C1-F FOLDING THE OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS To fold the outside rear view mirrors, push them towards the rear.The outside rear view mirrors can be folded rearward for parking in restricted areas.

The parking brake must always be set when the vehicle is to be left unat-tended. When the parking brake is ap- plied, and the ignition key is at the "ON" position, the parking brake warning lightwill be illuminated. Before driving thevehicle, the parking brake must be fullyreleased and the warning light extin-guished.
o To set the parking brake, apply the
foot brake and pull the parking brake lever up with the button depressed.Release the button when the brake isfully applied.

Before closing the bonnet, return the support rod to its clip to prevent it fromrattling. Lower the bonnet until it isabout 30 cm (1 ft.) above the closedposition and let it drop. Make sure that it locks into place.

Make sure that the support rod has been released prior to closing thebonnet.
4. Hold the bonnet open with the sup- port rod. WARNING:
o Always double check to be sure that the bonnet is firmly latchedbefore driving away. If it is notlatched, the bonnet could fly open while the vehicle is being driven, causing a total loss of visibility,which might result in an accident.
o The support rod must be inserted
completely into the hole providedin the bonnet whenever you in- spect the engine compartment. This will prevent the bonnet fromfalling and possibly injuring you. o Do not move the vehicle with the
bonnet in the raised position, asvision is obstructed and the bon-net could fall or be damaged.

NOTE: If the fuel filler lid will not open because ice has formed around it,tap lightly or push on the lid to breakthe ice and release the lid. Do not pryon the lid. If necessary, spray aroundthe lid with an approved deicer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm placeand allow the ice to melt.

The tail gate should always be kept completely closed while the vehicleis in motion. If it is left open or ajar,poisonous exhaust gases may en-ter the car resulting in serious ill- ness or death to the occupants. See additional warnings concerning ex-haust gases on page 2-2.
o The tail gate can be locked or un- locked with a key.
o The tail gate is opened by pulling the
outside handle up, raising the tail gate manually.
o To close, lower the tail gate, then press down on it until it is closed. Tobe sure the tail gate is fully closed, always try to pull it up again without using the outside handle.

Fuel vapours are dangerous. Before refuelling, turn off the engine andnever allow sparks, lit cigarettes oropen flames near the filler area. When releasing the filler cap, a small amount of residual pressure maygenerate a slight hissing sound which
is not indicative of an abnormality. Inthe event of the fuel filler cap requir-ing replacement, only a Genuine Hyundai replacement part should be used to prevent fuel leakage.

o Do not load cargo beyond 66 Lbs
(30kg). It may cause damage to theluggage board.

The auto fuel cut switch is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment.In the event of a collision or sudden impact, the auto fuel cut device cuts off the fuel supply. If this device is acti-vated, it must be reset by pressing inon the top of the switch before theengine can be restarted. HTB304
