ROOM LAMP TIMER OPERATION
Without Intelligent Key System
When interior room lamp and map lamp switch is in DOOR position, and when all conditions below are met,
BCM performs timer control (maximum 30 seconds) for interior room lamp and map lamp ON/OFF.
In addition, when spot turns ON or OFF there is gradual brightening or dimming over 1 second.
Power is supplied
to 15A fuse [No. 22, located in fuse block (J/B)]
through key switch terminal 2.
Key is removed from ignition key cylinder (key switch OFF), power will not be supplied to BCM terminal 37.
Ground is supplied
from BCM terminal 22
to power window main switch (door lock and unlock switch) terminal 14.
At the time that driver door are opened, BCM detects that driver door is unlocked. It determines that interior
room lamp and map lamp timer operation conditions are met, and turns the interior room lamp and map lamp
ON for 30 seconds.
Key is in ignition key cylinder (key switch ON),
Power is supplied

ILLUMINATIONPFP:27545
System DescriptionAKS007EI
Control of the illumination lamps operation is dependent upon the position of the lighting switch (combination
switch). When the lighting switch is placed in the 1ST or 2ND position (or if the auto light system is activated)
the BCM (body control module) receives input signal requesting the illumination lamps to illuminate. This input
signal is communicated to the IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module engine room) across the CAN
communication lines. The CPU (central processing unit) of IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module
engine room) controls the tail lamp relay coil. This relay, when energized, directs power to the illumination
lamps, which then illuminate.
Power is supplied at all times
to tail lamp relay [located in IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module engine room)]
through 10A fuse [No. 71, located in IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module engine room)].
Power is also supplied at all times
to BCM (body control module) terminal 55
through 50A fusible link (letter M, located in fuse and fusible link block)
to BCM (body control module) terminal 42
through 15A fuse [No. 22, located in fuse block (J/B)]
to CPU (central processing unit) [located in IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module engine room)]
through 15A fuse [No. 78, located in IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module engine room)]
to unified meter and A/C amp. terminal 21 and
to combination meter terminal 8
through 10A fuse [No. 19, located in fuse block (J/B)].
With the ignition switch in the ON or START position, power is supplied
to BCM (body control module) terminal 38
through 15A fuse [No. 1, located in fuse block (J/B)]
to unified meter and A/C amp. terminal 22
through 10A fuse [No. 12, located in fuse block (J/B)]
to ignition relay in the IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module engine room)
from ignition switch
to combination meter terminal 7
through 10A fuse [No. 14, located in fuse block (J/B)].
With the ignition switch in the ACC or ON position, power is supplied
to BCM (body control module) terminal 11
through 10A fuse [No. 6, located in fuse block (J/B)].
Ground is supplied
to BCM (body control module) terminals 49 and 52
to unified meter and A/C amp. terminals 29 and 30, and
to combination meter terminals 5, 6, and 15
through grounds M35, M45, and M85
to IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module engine room) terminals 38 and 60
through grounds E21, E50, and E51.
ILLUMINATION OPERATION BY LIGHTING SWITCH
With the lighting switch in the 1ST or 2ND position (or if the auto light system is activated), the BCM receives
input signal requesting the illumination lamps to illuminate. This input signal is communicated to the IPDM E/R
across the CAN communication lines. The central processing unit of the IPDM E/R controls the tail lamp relay
coil, which, when energized, directs power
through IPDM E/R terminal 22
to glove box lamp terminal 1
to A/T device (illumination) terminal 11
to snow mode switch (illumination) terminal 4

REMOVAL
1. Remove front cover. Refer to EM-196, "TIMING CHAIN" .
2. Remove the oil pump drive spacer.
Set bolts in the two bolt holes [M6 × pitch 1.0 mm (0.04 in)] on
the front surface. Using suitable puller, pull oil pump drive
spacer off from crankshaft.

2. Install oil pump drive spacer as follows:
a. Insert oil pump drive spacer according to the directions of crank-
shaft key and the two flat surfaces of oil pump inner rotor.
If the positional relationship does not allow the insertion,
rotate oil pump inner rotor with a finger to allow spacer.
b. After confirming that the position of each part is in correct condi-
tion to allow for spacer, force fit spacer by lightly tapping with
plastic hammer until it contacts and does not go further.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal after this step.
