DUAL-ZONE AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM
(for versions/markets , where provided)
L0E0018mfig. 31
The vehicle may be equipped with a dual zone automatic
climate control system, fig. 31, which regulates the pas-
s enger side air temperature separately from the driver’ s
s ide. The
system is equipped with an AQS (Air Quality
System) (for vers ions/markets , where provided) function,
which automaticall y s witches on the air recirculation sys-
tem if the outs ide air is polluted (e.g. in traffic queues and
tunnels ).

The climate control system allows y ou to cus tomise the
temperatures requested (driver s ide and passenger side)
with a maximum difference of 7°C.
The climate control system compressor only works with
the engine running and with an outs ide temperature above
4°C.
It is advisable not to use the internal air re-
circulation function when the outside tem-
perature is low to prevent the windows from
rapidly misting up.
Automatic climate control operation
(AUTO function) A - fi g. 31
Press the AUTO button; the system will automatically ad-
jus t:
❍ the amount of air introduced into the pa ssenger com-
partment;
❍ the dis tribution of air ins ide the passenger compart-
ment;
cancelling an y previous manual s ettings.
During climate control system automatic operation, the
words FULL AUTO appear on the di splay .
During automatic operation it is s till possible to adju st the
temperatures set and carry out one of the following op-
erations manually :
❍ adjus t fan s peed;
❍ select air dis tribution;
❍ switch internal air recirculation and AQS function

Air flow to the front and rear footwell diffu sers . This
air dis tribution allow s the passenger compartment to
be warmed up quickl y.

˙front and rear diffus ers, centre/s ide dashboard
diffusers, rear diffus er and winds creen and front s ide
window demi sting/defros ting diffusers.
Air flow dis tribution between the footwell
diffusers and the winds creen and front s ide window
demis ting/defros ting diffusers. This distribution set-
ting allows the passenger compartment to be warmed
up efficiently and prevents the windows from mist-
ing up.

Air flow dis tribution between footwell diffu sers (hot-
ter air) and centre/ side das hboard diffus ers and rear
diffus er (cooler air).
˙Air flow dis tribution between centre/s ide dashboard
diffus ers, rear diffus er and winds creen and front side
window demisting/defrosting diffusers. This distri-
bution setting ventilates the passenger compartment
well and prevents the windows from misting up.
IMPORTANT For the climate control system to function, at
leas t one of the following buttons must be on:
/ / ˙.
The system does not allow all the button s / / ˙to be
s witched off.

Internal air recirculation i s carried out according to three
possible operating mode s:
❍ automatic control, s ignalled by the AQS s ign on the

troduction of external air), indicated by the LED on
button
Tbeing off;
❍ permanentl y on (air recirculation alwa ys on), signalled
b y the LED on button
Tbeing lit up.
When OFF is pressed, the climate control system auto-
matically activates internal air recirculation (LED on but-

Ton). It is s till possible to activate outs ide air re-
circulation (LED on the button off) and vice ver sa, by
pressing button
T.
With the OFF button pre ssed (LED on the button is lit
up), it is not possible to enable the AQ S (Air Qualit y Sys-

it possible to reach the required heating or cooling con-
ditions
faster depending on the mode s elected. It is not ad-
vis able to s witch the air recirculation on when it i s
rainy /cold to prevent the window s from mis ting up, es -
pecially if the climate control is not turned on. It is ad-
vis able to s witch the internal air recirculation on whil st
queuing or in tunnel s to prevent the introduction of pol-
luted air. Do not u se the function for a long time, partic-
ularly if there are several passengers on board, to pre-
vent the window s from mis ting up.
Enabling the AQS (Air Qualit y System) function
(for vers ions/markets , where provided)
The AQS function (AQS appears on the dis play), auto-
matically activates internal air r
ecirculation when the out-
s ide air is polluted (e.g. in traffic queue s and tunnels ).
IMPORTANT With the AQS function active, after 15 con-
s ecutive minute s of the internal air recirculation system
functioning, the climate control system enables the intake
of outs ide air for approximatel y 1 minute to fres hen the
air in the passenger compartment. Thi s takes place re-
gardless of the pollution level of the out side air.

Activation
When the ring nut is turned to the AUTO pos ition the
external lights automatically s witch on depending on the
exterior brightne ss.
The headlight s can only be flashed with the s ensor on.
Deactivation
When the lights are switched off by the sensor, the dipped
beam headlight s and s ide lights are switched off and the
day lights are switched on (if activated).
The sens or is not capable of detecting the pre sence of fog
therefore, in thes e circumstances, the lights have to be
turned on manuall y.
FRONT FOG LIGHT S WITH
C ORNERING LIGHTS FUNCTION
When the dipped beam headlights are on and the speed is
below 40 km/h, if the s teering wheel rotation angle is large
or the direction indicators are on, a light (incorporated
in the fog light) will come on on the relevant side to im-
pr
ove vis ibility at night time. The function can be acti-
vated/deactivated via the di splay menu (s ee “Display”
paragraph in thi s chapter).
AUTOMATIC
HEADLIGHT S ENSOR (dusk sensor)
(for vers ions/markets , where provided)
It detects variation s in brightness outs ide the vehicle de-
pending on the light setting: the greater the sens itivity , the
less outs ide light needed to activate the exterior light s be-
ing turned on. The sens itivity of the dus k sens or may be
adjus ted, us ing the “S etup menu” on the ins trument pan-
el.
The daytime running lights are an alterna-
tive to the dipped beam headlights for driving
during the daytime in countries where it is
compulsory to have lights on during the day, and
they are also permitted in those countries where this
is not obligatory.
Daytime running lights cannot replace dipped beam
headlights when driving at night or through tunnels.
The use of daytime running lights is governed by
the highway code of the country in which you are
driving. Comply with the prescriptions.
