1.SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
HINT:
The skid control ECU is a single unit with ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR.
The skid control ECU also works as a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) ECU.
The yaw rate sensor and deceleration sensor are combined and in a single unit. This unit
communicates with the skid control ECU through CAN communication.
a. ABS (Anti-lock Brake System)
The ABS helps prevent the wheels from locking when the brakes are applied firmly or when
braking on a slippery surface.

COMMUNICATION
1.GENERAL
The climate control seat system creates cold or warm air to increase the comfort of seats that have
become hot or cold.
The air is heated or cooled by the Peltier element on the back of the seat cushion pad and seatback. The
air is then sent to the seat cushion and seatback with the fan installed under the seat. The fan is operated
by pressing the climate control seat switch.
The climate control seat switch has several modes that vary the quantity of air to be sent to the seat. There
are 7 modes in total: 3 cooled air modes, 3 heated air modes and ventilation mode.
HINT:
When the highest level for cooled air operates for 15 minutes, the quantity of air falls 1 level.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The ECM detects a cruise control switch signal and sends it to the combination meter via CAN and
BEAN. Then the CRUISE main indicator light comes on.
The CRUISE main indicator light circuit uses CAN and BEAN for communication. If there are any
malfunctions in this circuit, check for DTCs in the CAN communication system and multiplex
communication system.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER
a. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
b. Check the CRUISE main indicator light by using ACTIVE TEST.
ACTIVE TEST DETAIL (COMBINATION METER ASSY)
OK: Indicator light comes on/goes off.
NG: GO TO COMBINATION METER SYSTEM (SEE HOW TO PROCEED WITH
TROUBLESHOOTING )
OK: Go to next step
2.READ VALUE ON HAND-HELD TESTER
a. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the hand-held tester main switch on.
c. Select the item below in the "DATA LIST", and read the display on the hand-held tester.
