Convenience
Switching the fold-in mirrors with the
locking feature on/off
This function is only available on vehicles with
the memory function (Ypage 100).
When you activate theAuto. Mirror
Foldingfunction, the exterior mirrors are
folded in when the vehicle is locked.
If you unlock the vehicle and then open a
door, the exterior mirrors fold out again.
If you have switched on theAuto. Mirror
Foldingfunction and you fold in the exterior
mirrors using the buttononthe door
(Ypage 98), they will not fold out
automatically.The exterior mirrors can then
only be folded out using the button on the
door.
XPress theorbutton on the
steering wheel to select theSettings
menu.
XPress theorbutton to select the
Conveniencesubmenu.
XPress to confirm.
XPress theorbutton to select the
Auto. Mirror Foldingfunction.
If theAuto. Mirror Foldingfunction is
activated, the vehicle's exterior mirror is
displayed in orange in the multifunction
display.
XPress the button to save the setting.
Restoring the factory settings
XPress theorbutton on the
steering wheel to select theSettmenu.
XPress theorbutton to select the
Factory Settingsubmenu.
XPress to confirm.
TheReset All Settings?message
appears.

XPress to confirm the selection.
If you have selectedYes, the multifunction
display shows a confirmation message.
For safety reasons, theDaytime Running
Lights:function in theLightssubmenu is
only reset if the vehicle is stationary.

SETUP
Drive program (C/S/M)

mode (SPORT)
SETUP shows the drive program, the ESP®
(Electronic Stability Program) mode and the
SPORT handling mode.
XPress theorbutton on the

RACETIMER
Displaying and starting RACETIMER
The RACETIMER is only intended for use on a
closed race circuit. Do not use the function
on publicroads.
Lap
RACETIMER
You can start the RACETIMER when the
engine is running or if the SmartKey is in
position2in the ignition lock.

XPress thebutton repeatedly until the
RACETIMER is shown.
XTo start:press the button to start the
RACETIMER.
Displaying the intermediate time

The intermediate time is displayed for five

Resetting the current lap
XStop the RACETIMER.
XPress theorbutton to select
Reset Lap.
XPress to reset the lap time to "0".
Deleting all laps
If you switch off the engine, the RACETIMER
is reset to "0" after 30 seconds. All laps are
deleted.
You cannotdelete individual stored laps. If
you have stopped 16 laps, the currentlap
does nothave to be reset.
XReset the currentlap.
XPress to confirmReset.
Reset Race Timer?appears in the
multifunction display.
XPress thebutton to selectYesand
press the button to confirm.

Display messages
General notes
Display messages appear in themultifunction display.
Display messages with graphic displays may be shown in simplified forminthe Operator's
Manual and may differ from the messages shown in the multifunction display.
Please respond in accordance with the display messages and follow the additional notes in
this Operator's Manual.
Certain display messages are accompanied by an audible warning tone or a continuous tone.
When the ignition is switched off, all display messages are deleted, apart from some high-
priority display messages. Once the causes of the high-priority display messages have been
rectified, the corresponding display messages are also deleted.
When you stop and park the vehicle, please observe the notes on the HOLD function
(Ypage 172) and parking (Ypage 153).
Hiding display messages
XPress the orbutton on the steering wheel to hide the display message.
The display message is cleared.
The multifunction display shows high-priority display messages in red. Some high-priority
display messages cannot be hidden.
The multifunction display shows these messages continuously until the causes for the
messages have been remedied.
Message memory
The on-board computer saves certain display messages in themessage memory.You can
call up the display messages:
XPressoron the steering wheel to select theServmenu.
If there are display messages, the multifunction display shows, for example,2 Messages.
XPress theorbutton to select the entry, e.g.2 Messages.
XPress to confirm.
XPress theorbutton to scroll through the display messages.

affected. The braking distance in an emergency braking situation

If ESP®is not operational, ESP®is unable to stabilize the vehicle.
There is an increased risk of skidding and an accident.
XCarefully drive a short distance on a suitable stretch of road,
making slight steering movements at a speed above 12 mph
(20 km/h).
If the display message disappears, the functions mentioned
above are available again.
If the display message continues to be displayed:
XDrive on carefully.
XVisit a qualified specialist workshop.

XRemove the cause for the overvoltage or undervoltage, e.g. by
charging the battery or restarting the engine.
XEngage or release the electric parking brake.
If it remains impossible to apply or release the electric parking
brake:
XSwitch off the ignition and turn it back on.
XEngage or release the electric parking brake.
If the electric parking brake still cannot be released:
XConsult a qualified specialist workshop.
