based onthe wear rateofthe tire when tested
under controlled conditions onaspecified
government testcourse. Forexample, atire
graded 150would wearoneandone-half
(1 1/2) times aswell onthe government course
as atire graded 100.Therelative performance
of tires depends uponactual conditions oftheir

the norm duetovariations indriving habits,
service practices anddifferences inroad char-
acteristics andclimate.
TRACTION AA,A ,B AND C
GUID-7C9D 157D-A605-4 BF0-A47B-8EA060F09 ABE
The traction grades,fromhighest tolowest, are
AA ,A, B and C.Those grades represent the
tire's ability tostop onwet pavement as
measured undercontrolled conditions onspe-
cified government testsurfaces ofasphalt and
concrete. Atire marked Cmay have poor traction
performance.
WARNING
The traction gradeassigned tothis tire
is based onstraight-ahead braking
traction tests,anddoes notinclude
acceleration, cornering,hydroplaning,
or peak traction characteristic s.
TEMPERA TUREA,B AND C

The temperature gradesA(the highest) ,B, and
C, representing thetire's resistance tothe
generation ofheat anditsability todissipate
heat when tested undercontrolled conditions on
a specified indoorlaboratory testwheel. Sus-
tained hightemperature cancause thematerial
of the tire todegenerate andreduce tirelife, and
excessive temperature canlead tosudden tire
failure. Thegrade Ccorresponds toalevel of
performance whichallpassenger cartires must
meet under theFederal MotorVehicle Safety
Standard No.109. Grades Band Arepresent

WARNING
The temperature gradeforthis tireis
established foratire that isproperly
