compatible withLATCH. This information may

ments. Pressdownward andrearward firmly
in the center ofthe child restraint withyour

and seatback whiletightening thewebbing
of the anchor
attachments.

side toside while holding thechild restraint

attachment holdstherestraint inplace. Ifthe

restraint andinsert itinto thebuckle untilyou
hear andfeelthelatch engage. Besure to
follow thechild restraint manufacturer's

3. Pull theshoulder beltuntil thebelt isfully
extended. Atthis time, theseat beltretractor
is in the Automatic LockingRetractor (ALR)
mode (childrestraint mode).It reverts tothe
Emergency LockingRetractor (ELR)mode
when theseat beltisfully retracted.

place. Ifthe restraint isnot secure, tighten
the seat beltasnecessary ,or put the
restraint inanother seatandtestitagain.

If necessary ,adjust orremove thehead
restraint toobtain thecorrect childrestraint
fit. Ifthe head restraint isremoved, storeitin
a secure place.Besure toreinstall the
head restraint whenthechild restraint
is removed. SeeªHead restraints/head-
restsº (P.1-5) forhead restraint adjustment
information.
If the seating position doesnothave ahead
restraint anditis interfering withtheproper
child restraint fit,try another seatingposition
or adifferent childrestraint.

2. Secure thetop tether straptothe tether
anchor pointonthe back ofthe seatback
behind thechild restraint.
3. Refer tothe appropriate childrestraint
installation procedurestepsinthis section
before tightening thetether strap.
