the electric powersteering warninglightillumi-
nates. Afterstarting theengine, theelectric
power steering warninglightturns off.This
indicates theelectric powersteering systemis
operational.
If the electric powersteering warninglight
illuminates whiletheengine isrunning, itmay
indicate theelectric powersteering systemis
not functioning properlyandmay need servicing.
Have theelectric powersteering system
checked byaNISSAN dealer.
When theelectric powersteering warninglight
illuminates withtheengine running, thepower
assist tothe steering willcease operation but
you willstill have control ofthe vehicle. Atthis
time, greater steering effortsarerequired to
operate thesteering wheel,especially insharp
turns andatlow speeds.

Engine oilpressure warninglight

This light warns oflow engine oilpressure. Ifthe
light flickers orilluminates duringnormal driving,
pull offthe road inasafe area, stoptheengine
immediately andcallaNISSAN dealerorother

The engine oilpressure warninglightis
not designed toindicate alow oillevel.
Use thedipstick tocheck theoillevel. (See
ªEngine oilº(P.8-8) .)
CAUTION
Running theengine withtheengine oil
pressure warninglightoncould cause
serious damage tothe engine almost
immediately. Suchdamage isnot cov-
ered bywarranty. Turn offthe engine as
soon asitis safe todo so.
Intelligent Key system warning light

the vehicle andtheignition switchinthe
ACC orON position. Makesurethatthe
Intelligent Key isinside thevehicle.
. The light blinks ingreen whentheIntelligent
K ey battery isrunning outofpower. Replace
the battery withanew one. (See ªIntelligent
K ey battery replacementº (P.8-23) .)
. The light illuminates inyellow whenitwarns
of amalfunction withIntelligent Key system.
If the warning lightilluminates inyellow whilethe
engine isstopped, itmay beimpossible tostart
the engine. Ifthe light comes onwhile theengine
is running, youcan drive thevehicle. However in
these cases, contact aNISSAN dealerforrepair
as soon aspossible.
Low fuelwarning light

pressure tothe recommended COLDtire
pressure shownonthe Tire andLoading
Information label.Thelowtirepressure warning
light does notautomatically turnoffwhen thetire
pressure isadjusted. Afterthetireisinflated to
the recommended pressure,thevehicle mustbe
driven atspeeds above16MPH (25km/h) to
activate theTPMS andturn offthe low tire
pressure warninglight.Useatire pressure
gauge tocheck thetirepressure. The
lowtirepressure warninglightremains
illuminated untilthetires areinflated tothe
recommended COLDtirepressure. TheCHECK
TIRE PRES warning message isdisplayed each
time theignition switchisplaced inthe ON
position aslong asthe low tirepressure warning
light remains illuminated.

TPMS malfunction:

pressure warninglightilluminates toindicate a
TPMS malfunction. Havethesystem checked by
a NISSAN dealer.

avoid sudden steering maneuvers or
abrupt braking, reducevehicle
speed, pulloffthe road toasafe
location andstop thevehicle as
soon aspossible. Drivingwithun-
der-inflated tiresmaypermanently
damage thetires andincrease the
likelihood oftire failure. Serious
vehicle damage couldoccurand
may lead toan accident andcould
result inserious personal injury.
Check thetire pressure forallfour
tires. Adjust thetire pressure tothe
recommended COLDtirepressure
shown onthe Tire andLoading
Information labeltoturn thelow
tire pressure warninglightOFF.If
the light stillilluminates whiledriv-
ing after adjusting thetire pressure,
a tire may beflat. Ifyou have aflat
tire, replace itwith aspare tireas soon
aspossible.
. When aspare tireismounted ora
wheel isreplaced, theTPMS willnot
function andthelow tirepressure
warning lightwillflash forapproxi-
mately 1minute. Thelight will
remain onafter 1minute. Contact
your NISSAN dealerassoon as
possible fortire replacement and/
or system resetting.
. Replacing tireswiththose notori-
ginally specified byNISSAN could
affect theproper operation ofthe
TPMS.
CAUTION
. The TPMS isnot asubstitute forthe
regular tirepressure check.Besure
to check thetire pressure regularly.
. Ifthe vehicle isbeing driven at
speeds ofless than 16MPH (25
