Passenger compartment ventilation
is by “blown air”. The ventilation
fan determines how much air enters
but vehicle speed has a slight effect
on this.
The further the control is positioned
to the right, the more air is blown
into the passenger compartment.

Move controlD.
• Position
The air flow is directed to the
dashboard air vents only.
This selection is not appropriate if
all the air vents are closed.• Position
The air flow is directed to the
dashboard air vents and the footwells.
• Position
The air flow is directed to the
footwells.• Position
The air flow is distributed between
all the air vents, the side window
demisters, the windscreen demisters
and the footwells.
• Position
For improved efficiency, close the
dashboard air vents.
All the air flow is directed to the
windscreen demisters and the side
window demisters.
In this position, simultaneous
operation of the air conditioning
system could make demisting more
efficient.

Isolating the passenger
compartment
ButtonE
Normal operation of the system is
obtained using external air.
The air recirculation position
allows the passenger compartment
to be isolated from the external
atmosphere (driving in polluted
areas, etc.).
To enter the isolation mode, press
buttonE.This function allows the desired
warmth of the passenger
compartment to be achieved as
quickly as possible.
This button switches the air
recirculation system on or off.
Warning lightFcomesonwhenthe
function is operational. In this
position, air is taken from within
the passenger compartment and is
recycled without outside air
entering.
Prolonged use of the isolation mode
may cause odours due to the air not
being renewed and may cause the
windows to mist up.
Return to normal operation
(external air) by pressing buttonD

AIR CONDITIONING(continued)
Air conditioning controls
ControlBoperates or stops
the air conditioning system.
The air conditioningwill not operate
if controlGis positioned on0.Using the air conditioning system:
• lowers the internal passenger
compartment temperature,
especially in hot weather, when
driving in traffic or when the
vehicle has been parked in the
sun;
• reduces the humidity of the air
blown inside the passenger
compartment (prevents misting).
Fuel consumption increases when
the air conditioning system is being
used. (Switch it off when it is not
required.)Note:the air conditioning may be
used in all conditions, but does not
operate when the external
temperature is low.
•ButtonBnot activated (warning
lightCoff)
The air conditioning is not
operational.
Heating and ventilation are
therefore identical to that of a
vehicle without air conditioning.
•ButtonBactivated (warning light
Con)
The air conditioning is operating.
Air is taken from outside the
vehicle and is constantly
renewed.

AIR CONDITIONING(continued)
In very hot weather, or when the
vehicle has been parked in the sun,
openthedoorsforafewmomentsto
allow the hot air to escape before
starting off.
To lower the temperature of the
passenger compartment as quickly
as possible to the required level, use
the “Isolation of the passenger
compartment” function. Once the
required comfort level has been
reached, turn the recirculation
function off. When the air conditioning is
operating, all the windows must be
closed to give the best efficiency.
If there is an operating fault, contact
your Renault Dealer.
No cool air
Check that the controls are correctly
positioned and that the fuses are in
good condition. If not, stop the air
conditioning system (warning
lightCgoes out) and call for the
assistance of a Renault Dealer.
Do not open the refrigerant
circuit. The fluid is
dangerous to the eyes and
skin.

in-car comfort whatever the
weather.Operation of the automatic mode
•Press button1; the indicator light

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING(continued)
Operation of the automatic mode
(continued)
To reach and maintainthe selected
comfort level, the system acts upon:
-blowerspeed,
- air distribution,
- air recirculation management,
- air conditioning (on or off).
The indicator lights let you know
what the system has selected. The value on the display3indicates
the comfort level.
When the vehicle is started in cold
or hot weather, increasing or
decreasing the values displayed
does not mean that the comfort level
is reached more quickly (the system
optimises the temperature increase
or decrease whatever the air
temperature indicated).For optimum operation, we
recommend that you leave the air
vents open in all weathers.
