Turning the climate control system on and off

Automatic mode ensures constant tempe ra ­
tures in the interior and dehumidifies the air
ins ide the veh icle. Air temperat ure, volume
and d istribution are controlled automatically
to reach or maintain the desired inter ior tem­
perature as quickly as possible . Fluctuations
i n exte rior temperature and the effects of
temperature from the pos ition of the sun are
compensated fo r automat ically.

This operating mode wo rks on ly in an adjusta ­
ble temperature range of 60°F (+16°() to
84°F (+28°(). If a temperature be low 60°F
( + 16°() is selected,
LO appears in the disp lay.
At temperatures above 84°F (+28°(),
HI is
displayed . At both extreme settings, climate
control runs co ntinuously at maximum cool­
ing o r heating powe r. The re is no temperature
r egulation.
Setting the temperature

vehicle interior, f iltered and recirculated. We
recommend selecting recirculation mode un­
der the following conditions :
When driv ing through a tunnel or in a traffic
jam so that exhaust fumes and odors cannot
ente r the veh icle inter ior .
.&_ WARNING
You should not use the recirculation mode
for an extended per iod since no fresh air is
drawn in. With the ai r-conditioning switch­
ed off, the windows can fog up, which in ­
creases the risk of an acc ident!

The desired speed set by the driver is dis­
p layed by a red LED in the LED display in the
speedometer.

The system a llows only speeds from 20 to 95
mph (30 to 150 km/h) to be set. This speed
range is faint ly illuminated in the speedome­
ter (LED lights) .

The ind icator light shows
that adapt ive cru ise contro l is active a nd
that no object is ahead of the veh icle. Astor­
ed speed requested is maintai ned .
-@ Driving in traff ic: The ind icator light indi­
cates that an object has been detected trav­
eling in front. Your speed is adjusted accord- ing to the speed of the vehicle in front.
The
adaptive cruise contro l accelerates and
brakes automatica lly w ithin the system's op ­
eration parameters.

The tire pressure indicator in the instrument
cluster informs you if the tire pressure is too
low or if there is a system malfunction.

Using the ABS sensors, the tire pressure moni­
tor ing system compares the t ire tread circum ­
fe rence and vibration characteristics of the in­
d iv idual tires.

Tire tread circumference and vibrat ion charac­
teris tics can change and cause a tire pressure
warning if:
- t he t ire p ress ure in one or mo re tires is too
low,
- t he tir e has s tructural damage,
- the t ire pressu re was changed, w heels rotat-
ed or rep laced but the TPMS was not reset

& WARNING ~
- If the tire pressure ind icator appears in
the instrument cluster display, one or more of your tires is significant ly unde r­
inflated. Reduce your speed immediately
and avoid any hard steering or b raking
maneuvers. Stop as soon as possib le and
check the tires and their pressures . In­
flate the tire pressure to the prope r pres­
sure as indica ted o n the v ehicl e's tire
p ressu re labe l

sig nifican tly un der- infla te d tire causes
the t ire to ove rheat and can lead to ti re
fa ilu re . Unde r-inflation also is l ikely to
impair the vehicle's hand ling and stop­
ping ability .

- The driver is responsible for maintaining
the correct tire pressures. You must
check the tire pressures regularly.
- Under certain conditions (such as a spor­
ty driving style, winter condit ions or un­
paved roads), the pressure monitor ind i­
cator may be delayed .
- Ask your author ized Audi dealer if run­
flat tires may be used on your veh icle.
Your vehicle regist rat ion becomes invalid
if you use these tires when not permit­
ted. Damage to your veh icle or acc idents
cou ld also resu lt.
(D Tips
- The tire pressure monitoring system
stops working when there is an ESP/ABS malfunction.
- Using snow chains may result in a system
malfunction.
- To ensure a proper TPMS function use AUDI O riginal Tires wh ich are marked
with "AO" or "RO" on the tire sidewall.
