Connecting a cell phone
• Select the ITEL I button > Search for new cell
phone

ces are shown in the Infotainment system dis­

Or : search for the MMI using the Blue­
tooth device search on your cell phone.
• Select and confirm the desired cell phone from
the list of displayed Bluetooth devices .
• Select and confirm Handsfree. The MMI gener ­
ates a PIN for the connection setup

• Select and confirm Yes.
• Enter the PIN for connecting on you r cell
phone .
Or: if the PIN is already disp layed on
your ce ll phone, confirm it in the cell phone and
in the MMI. The time a llowed for entering the
PIN is limited to approximately 30 seconds .
Pay attention to any additional system prompts
dis played on your cell phone, for example if the
system should connect automatica lly in the fu­
ture . Depending on the cell phone, you may have
to confirm download ing the d irectory separately .
After connecting successfully
After connecting successfully, the signal strength
symbo l®
r=> page 139, fig. 158 and the Blue­
tooth symbo l@ appear in the status line of the
Infotainment disp lay. In addition, the cell phone
contacts are automatically loaded in the MMI di­
rectory. This process can take several minutes,
depending on the number of contacts.
If a ll of the memory capacity is fi lled, you will be
asked to replace the contacts from one cell phone when connecting another cell phone. With

with the MMI will be disconnected if anoth­
er device is paired.
- When leaving the vehicle, the Bluetooth
connect ion to the cell phone will automati­
cally disconnect.

Accepting/ending a call

Caller information : the name, phone number or
Unknown appears in the Infotainment display
and driver information system, depending on if
the caller has been sto red in the d irecto ry and if
the pho ne n umber has been transmitted .

-The aud io/video source is m uted during an
incomi ng or outgoing call.
- If you have switched t he Infotainment dis­
play off, it will switch on aga in automatical­
ly when an incoming call is rece ived .

End call ends the active phone call. A phone
call that is on hold stays on ho ld and can be re­

Join conference :
a party on hold and up to five ac­
tive parties (depending on t he network) ca n be
added to a confe re nce cal l. To make an add itiona l
call , put all pa rticipan ts in the c urren t confe rence
call on hold using
Hold conference . Press the Op ·

After connecting the cell phone, the contacts in
it are automatically imported into the

can be sorted according to first or last name

You can pair up to four different cell phones with
the MMI and manage up to four private directo­
ries .

ble to all users and can be used by all users re­

Cell phone connected : to store a contact in the

- The contacts from the cell phone may not
be transferred in alphabetical order . If there
are too many entries, contacts with differ­

Audi connect
Audi connect Introduction
A pp lies to: ve hicles w ith Audi co nnect
With Audi connect services, online information is
transmitted and integrated directly in the vehi­
cle.
A mobi le end dev ice can be used to access the In­
ternet through a Wi-Fi hotspot, either when the
vehicle is stationary or from the rear seat when
the vehicle is in motion.
A separate Aud i connect SIM card provided by
Audi connect is used to access Audi connect se rv­
ices .
A WARNING
- To reduce the risk of an accident, on ly use
Audi connect serv ices when road and traff ic
condit ions permit. Read and follow the
guidelines prov ided
in c:> page 135 .
-Use the Audi connect serv ices w ith a Wi-Fi
hotspot o nly in the rear seat when the veh i­
cle is in mot ion or only when the vehicle is
stationary to reduce the risk of an accident .
@ Note
Audi connect is designed for use only with the

myaudi is necessary to use individual serv­
ices . You can contact an authorized Audi
dealer or Audi connect Support at 877-S0S­

tions for expanding your usage and any
costs that may result.
-It is only possible to use Audi connect serv­
ices with a valid Audi SIM card.
-To ensure all of the Audi connect features
work correctly, Audi recommends setting up
a data service and Wi-Fi package with your
cell phone service provider. Your cell phone service provider can be authorized by law,
through a judicial order or other lawful in­
structions, to disclose the position of your
vehicle. Additional information on your cell
phone service provider's privacy policies can
be found in their Terms of Use .
-The availability of Audi connect services,
such as weather information, depends on
the cell phone service provider .
-You can specify when the MMI establishes
an online connection

net connection ends automatically when the
Audi connect service in use no longer re­
quires any data packets.

net-based system. If the system does not

Privacy protection

-Your privacy is important to us.
-AUDI AG collects, processes, shares and
transmits your personal information in ac­ cordance with legal regulations in order to
ensure proper function and availability of
the individual Audi connect services. You
can view the complete, current and valid
Audi connect data protection policy in your MMI. The myAudi website is available for to
you to activate additional Audi connect serv­ ices and to transfer data with your vehicle,
among other services. A one-time registra­
tion is required to establish a connection to
your vehicle. For this purpose, AUDI AG col­
lects, processes, transmits and uses your re­
quired personal information as required for
you to use the services provided by AUDI
AG. Your information is not distributed to
third parties. Using your cell phone with the help of your myAudi platform, you can
transfer information for Audi connect serv­ ices functions to your vehicle and allow spe­
cific information to be transmitted from
your vehicle.
- By activating special information services
that are part of your Audi connect portfolio,
you can use these functions directly in your
vehicle by entering data to confirm your
identity (to use social networks, for exam­
ple). To do this, the identification informa­
tion you provided is forwarded with the re­
quest to the respective service provider.
