a ir bags, pretensioners and illuminates for a
few seconds each time you switch the ignition
on .
If the
I (USA models)/ . (Canada models)
indicator light does not go out, or if it illumiÂ

b link , then there is a malfunction somewhere
in the system. If the light does not illuminate
when you switch the ignition on, this also
means there is a malfunction.
A WARNING
If you have a ma lfunction in the safety sysÂ
tems, contact your authorized Audi dealer
imme diately. Otherwise the safety sysÂ
tems may not work properly in an acc iÂ
dent.
¢ Q Turn signals
The indicator light blinks when you use either
turn signal .
Whenever you use the left B or the right B
turn signal, the indicator light blinks. When
you use the emergency flashers, both indicaÂ

If one of the turn signal light bulbs burn out,
the turn signal will blink twice as fast as norÂ

This does not apply, however, in towing mode.
The indicator light does not flash if a turn sigÂ

0 Adaptive Air Suspension
Applies to vehicles: with Adaptive Air Suspension
This II warning/indicator light has the folÂ
l owing functions:
- It illuminates for a few seconds after the igÂ
nition is turned on as function check and
then goes out .
- If the warning/ind icator light illuminates or
blinks continuously, there is a system fau lt
in the Adaptive A ir Suspension . A system
fault can result in limited ride comfort and
low ground clearance . Drive safely to the
nearest authorized Aud i dealer or qualified
workshop, and have the fault corrected .
- If the warning/ind icator light flashes, you
should not drive the vehicle. The flash ing
warning/ind icator light po ints to an extreme
High level. A very
pronounced lifting of the
vehicle (extreme High level) can resu lt, fo r
example, when a heavy load is removed
from the vehicle. As soon as the leve l has reÂ
turned to normal, the warning/indicator
light stops flashing, and you can drive away.
- If the warning/ind icator light flashes in conÂ
junction with the
II warning/indicator
light, you sho uld not drive off immediately
i n order to prevent damage to the underÂ
body. The two warning/ind icator lights flashing together points to an extreme Low
level. A very
pronounced lowering of the veÂ
hicle (extreme Low leve l) can result, for exÂ
ample, from a heavy load. As soon as the
level has retu rned to normal, the warning/
ind icator lights stop flashing, and you can
drive away.
(D Note
If the warning/indicator light flashes in
conjunction with the
II warni ng/indicaÂ
tor light, you should not dr ive the veh icle
because low-lying vehicle parts can botÂ
tom out as you drive over uneven ground
and be damaged as a result.
~ Adaptive Air Suspension
Applies to vehicles: with Adaptive Air Suspension
This II warning/ indicator light has the fol Â
lowing functions:
- It illuminates for a few seconds after the igÂ

then goes out.
- It comes on for approximately 15 seconds
as a warning of
reduced ground clearance , if
the dynamic mode is activated and if the igÂ
nition is switched on

soon as the level has returned to normal,
the warning/indicator lights stop flashing,

General information
The winds hield wipers and the w indshield
washer system operate only with the ignition
on.
During a temporary stop , e.g . at a t raff ic sigÂ
na l, the set wipe speed is automatically reÂ
duced by one stage.
The winds hield washer no zzles a re heated at
l ow temperatures when the ignition is on .
Removing w ate r droplet s
About 5 seconds after the wash cycle is comÂ
plete, the wiper system performs a single au Â
tomatic wipe cycle to remove any water dropÂ
l ets that remain on the windshield whi le dr iv Â
ing.
If you would like to deactivate this delayed
wipe cycle wh ile driving, you have to pull the
l eve r to pos ition ® again within 10 seconds
after this wipe cy cle.
Water droplet removal is reactivated after the
ignit ion is switched off and then on again .
Winter position
To speed up de -icing of the w indshield w ipers,
t hey move to the winter posi tion when the igÂ
n ition is switched off and at an outside temÂ
perature below 39
°F (4 °(). In this posit ion ,
the w indshield wipers are in an area on the
g lass w hich is reached by the a ir vents below
the glass. It is also easier to remove snow and
ice from the wi ndshield wipers in this posiÂ
tion .
The wipe rs leave the w inte r position, when
the ign ition is swi tc h ed on, if the winds hield
wiper lever is operated or the active rain senÂ
sor reacts to moistu re.
Rain sensor
The rain senso r operates on ly in the inte rva l
wiper position . When it sta rts to ra in , the inÂ
terval wipe r mode is activated automati ca lly.
If the windshie ld w iper lever is in the inte rval
wipe posit ion w ith the ign ition switched off, the ra
in sensor is not activated until ve hicle
sp eed is above 4 mph (6 km/h).
T o red uce the sensi tivi ty of the rain senso r,
the switch @ mus t be moved down . T o inÂ
