heated seats when it is cold
outside. The heated steering
wheel indicator light may
come on.
If equipped with auto heated
seats, the heated steering
wheel will turn on when the
auto heated seat is activated.
The heated steering wheel
indicator will display the state
of the steering wheel heat.

Horn
Pressaon the steering
wheel pad to sound the horn.
Windshield Wiper/
Washer
With the ignition on or in
accessory mode, move the
windshield wiper lever to
select the wiper speed.
HI : Use for fast wipes.
LO : Use for slow wipes.
INT : Use this setting for
intermittent wipes or for
Rainsense wipes, when
Rainsense is enabled. For
intermittent wipes, move the
lever up to INT, then turn
the
Oband up for more
frequent wipes or down for
less frequent wipes.
If Rainsense is enabled, see
“Rainsense” later in this
section.
If the windshield wipers are in
use while driving, the exterior
lamps come on automatically if
the exterior lamp control is in AUTO. The transition time for
the lamps coming on varies
based on wiper speed. See
“Lights On with Wipers”
under
Automatic Headlamp System

OFF : Use to turn the
wipers off.
1X : For a single wipe, briefly
move the wiper lever down.
For several wipes, hold the
wiper lever down.
Clear snow and ice from the
wiper blades and windshield
before using them. If frozen to
the windshield, carefully
loosen or thaw them.
Damaged blades should be
replaced. See Wiper Blade
Replacement 0401.
Heavy snow or ice can
overload the wiper motor.

In freezing weather, do not
use the washer until the

Indicators
Warning lights and gauges can
signal that something is wrong
before it becomes serious
enough to cause an expensive
repair or replacement. Paying
attention to the warning lights
and gauges could prevent
injury.
Some warning lights come on
briefly when the engine is
started to indicate they are
working. When one of the
warning lights comes on and
stays on while driving, or when
one of the gauges shows
there may be a problem, check
the section that explains what
to do. Waiting to do repairs
can be costly and even
dangerous.

Speed Warning
The Speed Warning display
allows the driver to set a
speed that they do not want
to exceed. To set the Speed
Warning, press the
thumbwheel when Speed
Warning is displayed, or press
the thumbwheel on the main
view to set the speed value.
Scroll to adjust the value.
Press the thumbwheel to set
the speed. Once the speed is
set, this feature can be turned
off by pressing the
thumbwheel while viewing this page. If the selected speed
limit is exceeded, a pop-up
warning is displayed with a
chime.
Speed Sign
Shows sign information, which
comes from a roadway
database in the onboard
navigation, if equipped.
Units
Press the thumbwheel while
Units is displayed to enter the
Units menu. Choose US or
metric units by pressing the
thumbwheel while the desired
item is highlighted. A selected
mark will be displayed next to
the selected item.
Tachometer
If equipped, the Tachometer
allows the driver to choose
between the traditional
tachometer (linear gauge) or
the numerical tachometer
(shift lights with numerical
Tachometer RPM) when Track
theme is selected.

Passenger Airbag
Status Indicator
The vehicle has a passenger
sensing system. See
Passenger Sensing System
066 for important safety
information. The overhead
console has a passenger
airbag status indicator.
When the vehicle is started,
the passenger airbag status
indicator will light ON and OFF,
and the symbols for on and
off, for several seconds as a
system check. Then, after
several more seconds, the
status indicator will light either
ON or OFF, and either the
symbol for on or off, to let you
know the status of the front
outboard passenger frontal
airbag and knee airbag. If the word ON, and the on
symbol, is lit on the passenger
airbag status indicator, it
means that the front outboard
passenger frontal airbag and
knee airbag are allowed to
inflate.
If the word OFF, and the off
symbol, is lit on the passenger
airbag status indicator, it
means that the passenger
sensing system has turned off
the front outboard passenger
frontal airbag and knee airbag.
If, after several seconds, all of
the symbols remain lit, or if no
symbols are lit, or if the airbag
readiness light is on, there
may be a problem with the
lights or the passenger
sensing system. See your
dealer for service right away.

If the airbag readiness light
ever comes on and stays on,
it means that something may
be wrong with the airbag

Charging System
Light
The charging system light
comes on briefly when the
ignition is turned on, but the
engine is not running, as a
check to show the light is
working. It should go out when
the engine is started.

Rocker extensions may
break under pressure,
resulting in property damage
or injury. Do not stand on
the rocker extension or use
it as a step.

Rear end spoilers may break
under pressure, resulting in
property damage or injury.
Do not push the vehicle by
the spoiler or use the spoiler
as a handle.
Ignition Positions
The vehicle has an electronic
keyless ignition with
pushbutton start.
The Remote Key must be in
the vehicle for the system to
operate. If the pushbutton
start is not working, the
vehicle may be near a strong
radio antenna signal causing
interference to the Keyless
Access system. See Remote
Key Operation09.
To shift out of P (Park), the
vehicle must be on and the
brake pedal must be applied. Stopping the Engine/OFF (No
Indicator Lights) :
When the
vehicle is stopped, press
ENGINE START/STOP once to
turn the engine off.
If the vehicle is in P (Park), the
ignition will turn off, and
Retained Accessory
Power (RAP) will remain active.

If the vehicle has an automatic
transmission, and is not in
P (Park), the ignition will return
to accessory mode and display
a message in the Driver
Information Center (DIC).
When the vehicle is shifted
into P (Park), the ignition
system will turn OFF.
If the vehicle has a manual
transmission and is stationary,
the ignition will turn off, and
Retained Accessory
Power (RAP) will remain active.

Super Cruise uses the

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC),
which controls acceleration

Cruise is enabled and

An active Connected Service
plan that includes Super
Cruise Services is required to
use Super Cruise.

Super Cruise does not
perform all aspects of
driving, nor does it do
everything a driver can do.
Super Cruise only steers to
maintain vehicle position in
the current lane or, under
some circumstances, to
change lanes. Super Cruise
can only be used with
Adaptive Cruise Control.
Super Cruise does:
.Not prevent crashes or
warn of possible crashes.
.Not steer to avoid
stopped or slow-moving
vehicles, cross-traffic,
construction barriers or
cones, motorcycles,
children, pedestrians,
animals, or other objects

vehicle.
Driving with a Trailer
Use caution while backing up
when towing a trailer. The
RCTA feature is automatically
disabled when a trailer is
attached to the vehicle.
Turning the Feature On
or Off
To view available settings for
this feature, touch the
Settings icon on the
infotainment home page.
Select“Vehicle” to display the
list of available options and
select “Collision/Detection
Systems”.
Assistance Systems
for Driving
If equipped, when driving the
vehicle in a forward gear,
Forward Collision Alert (FCA),
Lane Departure Warning
(LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Side Blind Zone Alert
(SBZA), Lane Change Alert
(LCA), Automatic Emergency
Braking (AEB), and/or the
Front Pedestrian Braking
(FPB) System can help to
avoid a crash or reduce crash
damage.
Forward Collision
Alert (FCA) System
The FCA system may help to
avoid or reduce the harm
caused by front-end crashes.
When approaching a vehicle
ahead too quickly, FCA
provides a red flashing alert
on the windshield and rapidly
beeps or pulses the driver
seat. FCA also lights an amber
visual alert if following another
vehicle much too closely.
FCA detects vehicles within a
distance of approximately
60 m (197 ft) and operates at
speeds above 8 km/h (5 mph).
If the vehicle has Adaptive
Cruise Control (ACC), it can
detect vehicles to distances of
approximately 110 m (360 ft)
and operates at all speeds.

FCA is a warning system and
does not apply the brakes.
When approaching a
slower-moving or stopped
vehicle ahead too rapidly,
or when following a vehicle
too closely, FCA may not
provide a warning with
enough time to help avoid a
crash. It also may not
provide any warning at all.
FCA does not warn of
pedestrians, animals, signs,
guardrails, bridges,
construction barrels,
or other objects. Be ready to
take action and apply the
brakes. See Defensive
Driving 0235.
FCA can be disabled through
vehicle personalization. To

LCA Detection Zones
1. SBZA Detection Zone
2. LCA Detection Zone
The LCA sensor covers a zone
of approximately one lane over
from both sides of the vehicle,
or 3.5 m (11 ft). The height of
the zone is approximately
between 0.5 m (1.5 ft) and 2 m
(6 ft) off the ground. The Side
Blind Zone Alert (SBZA)
warning area starts at
approximately the middle of
the vehicle and goes back 5 m
(16 ft). Drivers are also warned
of vehicles rapidly
approaching from up to 70 m
(230 ft) behind the vehicle.
How the System Works
The LCA symbol lights up in
the outside mirrors when the
system detects a moving
vehicle in the next lane over
that is in the side blind zone or
rapidly approaching that zone
from behind. A lit LCA symbol
indicates it may be unsafe to
change lanes. Before making a
lane change, check the LCA
display, check mirrors, glance
over your shoulder, and use
the turn signals.

Mirror Display
When the vehicle is started,
both outside mirror LCA
displays will briefly come on to
indicate the system is
operating. When the vehicle is
in a forward gear, the left or
right outside mirror display will light up if a moving vehicle is
detected in the next lane over
in that blind zone or rapidly
approaching that zone. If the
turn signal is activated in the
same direction as a detected
vehicle, this display will flash
as an extra warning not to
change lanes.
LCA can be disabled. When
you disable LCA, Side Blind
Zone Alert is also disabled. To
view available settings from
the infotainment screen, touch
Settings > Vehicle > Collision/
Detection Systems. If LCA is
disabled by the driver, the LCA
mirror displays will not light up.
When the System Does
Not Seem to Work
Properly
The LCA system requires
some driving for the system to
calibrate to maximum
performance. This calibration
may occur more quickly if the
vehicle is driving on a straight

4. Turn the ignition off. Turnoff all lights and
accessories in both
vehicles, except the hazard
warning flashers if needed.

An electric fan can start up
even when the engine is not
running and can injure you.
Keep hands, clothing, and
tools away from any
underhood electric fan.
{Warning
Using a match near a
battery can cause battery
gas to explode. People have
been hurt doing this, and
some have been blinded.
Use a flashlight if you need
more light.
Battery fluid contains acid
that can burn you. Do not
get it on you. If you
accidentally get it in your

eyes or on your skin, flush
the place with water and get
medical help immediately.
{Warning
Fans or other moving engine
parts can injure you badly.
Keep your hands away from
moving parts once the
engine is running.
5. Connect one end of the red positive (+) cable to the
remote positive (+)
terminal on the discharged
battery.
6. Connect the other end of the red positive (+) cable to
the positive (+) terminal of
the good battery.
7. Connect one end of the black negative (–) cable to
the negative (–) terminal of
the good battery. Do not let the other end
touch anything until the
next step. The other end of
the negative (–) cable does
not go to the dead battery.
It goes to a heavy,
unpainted metal
engine part.
8. Connect the other end of the black negative (–) cable
to the negative (–)
grounding point for the
discharged battery.
9. Start the engine in the vehicle with the good
battery and run the engine
at idle speed for at least
four minutes.
10. Try to start the vehicle that had the dead battery.
If it will not start after a
few tries, it probably needs
service.
Jumper Cable Removal
Reverse the sequence exactly
when removing the jumper
cables.
