Automatic Transfer Case
This transfer case knob is to the leftof the steering column.
The different drive options that maybe available are described following.
2m(Two-Wheel Drive High) :This
setting is used for driving in moststreet and highway situations.
AUTO (Automatic Four-WheelDrive) :This setting is ideal for usewhen road surface tractionconditions are variable.
Do not use AUTO mode to park onasteepgradewithpoortractionsuch as ice, snow, mud or gravel. InAUTO mode only the rear wheelswill hold the vehicle from slidingwhen parked. If parking on a steep
grade, use 4mto keep all four
wheels engaged.
4m(Four-Wheel Drive High) :Use
this setting when extra traction isneeded, such as on snowy or icyroads or in most off-road situations.

4n(Four-Wheel Drive Low) :This
setting sends maximum power to all

Parking Assist
If equipped, Rear ParkingAssist (RPA) uses sensors on therear bumper to assist with parkingand avoiding objects while inR(Reverse). It operates at speedsless than 8 km/h (5 mph). RPA maydisplay a warning triangle on theRear Vision Camera screen and agraphic on the instrument cluster toprovide the object distance. Inaddition, multiple beeps or seatpulses may occur if very close to anobject.
The vehicle may also have the FrontParking Assist system.

Multi-Band Antenna
The multi-band antenna is on theroof of the vehicle. The antenna isused for OnStar, the SiriusXMSatellite Radio Service System, andGPS (Global Positioning System),if the vehicle has these features.Keep the antenna clear ofobstructions for clear reception.
If the vehicle has a sunroof, and it isopen, reception can also beaffected.
Items on the roof of the vehicle caninterfere with the performance of theradio system and OnStar (ifequipped). Make sure themulti-band antenna is notobstructed.
Audio Players
Avoiding Untrusted Media
Devices
When using media devices such asCDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray Discs®,SDcards, USB drives, and mobiledevices, consider the source.Untrusted media devices couldcontain files that affect systemoperation or performance. Avoid useif the content or origin cannot betrusted.
CD Player
If the vehicle is equipped with a CDplayer, it can be used for CD andMP3 audio.
With the vehicle on, insert a discinto the slot, label side up. Press theMEDIA button to select CD as asource.
The system is capable ofplaying most:
.Audio CDs
.CD-R
.CD-RW
.MP3 or unprotected WMAformats
When playing any compatiblerecordable disc, the sound qualitycan be reduced due to disc quality,the method of recording, the qualityof the music that has beenrecorded, or the way the disc hasbeen handled.
There can be increased skipping,difficulty in finding tracks, and/ordifficulty in loading and ejecting.If these problems occur, check thedisc for damage or try a knowngood disc.

.Do not use scratched ordamaged discs.
.Do not apply labels to discs. Thelabels could get caught in theplayer.
.Insert only one disc at a time.
.Keep the loading slot free offoreign materials, liquids, anddebris.

.Use a marking pen to label thetop of the disc.
Loading and Ejecting Discs
To l o a d a d i s c :
1. Turn the vehicle on.
2. Insert a disc into the slot, labelside up. The player pulls it inthe rest of the way. If the discis damaged or improperlyloaded, there is an error andthe disc ejects.
Playing an Audio CD
Press the MEDIA button on thefaceplate until CD is selected.
On the CD main page, either a tracknumber displays at the beginning ofeach track, or Song, Artist, andAlbum information displays whenavailable.
Use the following screen controls toplay the disc:
t:While on the CD main page:
.Press to seek to the beginning ofthe current or previous track.If the track has been playing forless than five seconds, it seeks
to the previous track. If longerthan five seconds, the currenttrack starts from the beginning.
.Press and hold to fast reversethrough a track. Release thebutton to return to playingspeed. Elapsed time displays.
u:While on the CD main page:
.Press to seek to the next track.
.Press and hold to fast forwardthrough a track. Release thebutton to return to playingspeed. Elapsed time displays.
j/r:While on the CD main page,press to pause. Press again toresume.
Z:PressZto play the songs inrandom order. Press again toturn off.
If a Blu-ray Disc®or DVD disc isloaded into the disc player and theCD screen button is selected, amessage comes on the screen touse the Video application. TheVideo application is only availableon vehicles with Rear SeatEntertainment (RSE).

While on the CD main page, pressthe MENU knob to display the CDmenu and the following may display:
Browse :Select to display the filesor songs on the CD.

Error Messages
If Disc Error displays and/or the disccomes out, it could be for one of thefollowing reasons:
.The disc has an invalid orunknown format.
.The disc is very hot. Try the discagain when the temperaturereturns to normal.
.The road is very rough. Try thedisc again when the road issmoother.
.The disc is dirty, scratched, wet,or upside down.
.The air is very humid. Try thedisc again later.
.There was a problem whileburning the disc.
.The label is caught in the CDplayer.
If Disc Player Error displays, it couldbe for one of the following reasons:
.The player temperature istoo high.
.There are load or eject errors.
If the CD is not playing correctly forany other reason, try a knowngood CD.
If any error continues, contact yourdealer.
Playing an MP3 CD
To p l a y a n M P 3 C D , f o l l o w t h e s a m einstructions as“Playing anAudio CD.”
The following guidelines must bemet when creating an MP3 disc,otherwise the CD might not play:
.Sampling rate: 16 kHz,22.05 kHz, 24 kHz, 32 kHz,44.1 kHz, and 48 kHz.
.Bit rates supported: 8, 16, 24,32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 80, 96, 112,128, 144, 160, 192, 224, 256,and 320 kbps.
.Maximum number of folders:eight folders with 255 files perfolder.
.Maximum of 1,000 files onadisc.
.Recorded on a CD-R or CD-RW.
Root Directory
The root directory is treated as afolder. All files contained directlyunder the root directory areaccessed prior to any root directoryfolders.
Empty Folders
If a root directory or folder is emptyor contains only folders, the playeradvances to the next folder in thefile structure that contains acompressed audio file. The emptyfolder(s) are not displayed ornumbered.
No Folder
When the CD only containscompressed audio files without anyfolders, all files are under the rootfolder.
