Access to the fuses
O p e n t h e g l o v e b o x ,
Push the two opening guides C inwards to
p a s s t h e fi r s t n o t c h ,

Access to the fuses
Open the bonnet (refer to the «Access» section),
Press on the hook A to release the catch ,
Remove the cover completely,
Change the fuse (refer to the corresponding paragraph).

Spare fuses
The spare fuses are located under the engine compartment
f u s e b o x c o v e r . The cover does not contain spare fuses with an amper-
age of 7.5 A, 25 A or 30 A. If one of the fuses with these
amperages develops a fault, replace it with the following
fuse:
A 7.5 A fuse must be replaced with the
10 A spare fuse ,
a
25 A fuse with a
20 A spare fuse and a
30 A fuse with
the audio system fuse (N° 31) .

The battery A is located under the
bonnet on the left.
To gain access to it:
open the bonnet using the interior
l e v e r , t h e n t h e e x t e r i o r l e v e r ,
secure the bonnet strut.
BATTERY
Access to the battery
Connect the red cable to the positive
t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f t h e fl a t b a t t e r y A ,
then to the positive terminal (+) of
the slave battery B .
Connect one end of the green or
black cable to the negative terminal
(-) of the slave battery B .
Connect the other end of the green
or black cable to an earth point C
on the broken down vehicle, as
far as possible from the battery
( f o r e x a m p l e , r i g h t - h a n d e n g i n e
mounting).
Start the engine of the assisting
vehicle.
Operate the starter, let the engine
run.
Wait until the engine returns to idle
and disconnect the cables.
Raise the front of the cover 1 to
release the three clips 2 .
Then pull the cover 1 towards you
to release the clip 3 and remove the
cover.
Check the electrolyte level regularly.
If necessary, top up the level with
distilled water.

Charging the battery using a
battery charger
Disconnect the battery from the
vehicle.
Remove the battery and place it in a
ventilated area.
Remove the top-up caps and top
up the level with distilled water if
necessary.
Connect the battery to the charger
observing the instructions for use
provided by the manufacturer and
start charging.
Disconnect the battery from the
charger and let it cool.
If necessary, top up the level with
distilled water.
Clean the top of the battery
carefully.
Put the top-up caps back in place.
Check that the terminals and
connectors are clean. If they are
covered with sulphate (whitish or
greenish deposit), remove them
and clean them.
Reconnect the battery starting with
the positive terminal (+). Do not disconnect the terminals
while the engine is running.
Do not charge the batteries
without disconnecting the
t e r m i n a l s fi r s t . Following reconnection of the
battery
Following reconnection of the battery,
switch on the ignition and wait 1 minute
before starting to permit initialisation of
the electronic systems. However, if slight
d i f fi c u l t i e s a r e e n c o u n t e r e d f o l l o w i n g t h i s
operation, contact a CITROËN dealer.
Referring to the corresponding section,
you must yourself reinitialise:
- the one-touch electric windows,
- the sunroof,
- the satellite navigation system.
Avoid prolonged contact of the
electrolyte with the skin.
M o s t o f t h e s e fl u i d s a r e h a r m f u l
to health and very corrosive. It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is to be left
unused for more than one month.
The batteries contain harmful
substances such as sulphuric acid
and lead. They must be disposed of
in accordance with regulations and
must not, in any circumstances, be
discarded with household waste.
Take used remote control batteries
and vehicle batteries to a special
collection point.
When charging the battery, it is
normal to observe an increase in
temperature and bubbling of the
electrolyte.
Before disconnecting the battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off the ig-
nition before disconnecting the battery.
Close the windows, the sunroof, the
doors and the tailgate before discon-
necting the battery.

CHANGING A WIPER BLADE
Procedure for replacing a worn wiper
blade with a new one without the use
of tools.
Removing a front or rear wiper
blade
Raise the corresponding wiper arm.
Remove the wiper blade, sliding it
towards the outside.
Fitting a front or rear wiper
blade
At the front, check the size of the
wiper blade as the shorter blade is
fi t t e d o n t h e r i g h t - h a n d s i d e o f t h e
vehicle.
Put the corresponding new wiper
b l a d e i n p l a c e a n d fi x i t .
Fold down the wiper arm carefully.

TOWING
Access to the tools Having your vehicle towed on a
flatbed
Below the front bumper, install the
towing system on the towing eye 1 .
On the rear bumper, remove the
cover by pulling at the bottom using
the jack handle 2 .
Towing another vehicle
The towing eye and the tools are stored
in the storage compartment in the right-
hand boot trim.
To access them:
open the boot,
turn button A to the left,
remove the cover B ,
r e m o v e t h e fi x i n g b a n d C and take
out the tool bag
D containing the
tools,
take the towing eye and the tools
required out of the tool bag.
When being towed with the
engine off, there is no longer any
braking or steering assistance.
Place the gear lever in neutral.
Always have the vehicle
t o w e d o n a fl a t b e d .
Never have the vehicle towed
with the four wheels on the ground,
this could damage the transmission.
The vehicle must not be towed with
the front or rear wheels on the ground
even if it is in front “2WD” (2 wheel
drive) mode.
Screw in the towing eye fully using
the wheelbrace 3 .
Install the towbar.
Switch on the hazard warning lights
on the towed vehicle.

TOWING A TRAILER,
CARAVAN, ETC.
Your vehicle is primarily designed for
transporting people and luggage, but it
may also be used for towing a trailer. Driving advice
T h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g l o a d o n a l o n g
slope depends on the gradient and the
outside temperature.
In all cases, pay attention to the coolant
temperature.
Side wind
Take into account the increased
sensitivity to side wind.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
To lower the engine speed, reduce
your speed. Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking
distance.
Tyres
Check the tyre pressures of the
towing vehicle and of the trailer,
observing the recommended
pressures.
Lights
Check the electrical signalling on
the trailer.
If this message is
displayed, stop your
vehicle as soon as it
is safe to do so.

slowly, wait for the engine to cool before
topping up the level, if necessary.
I f t h e m e s s a g e fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , c o n t a c t
a CITROËN dealer without delay.
Opening of the lower tailgate
is prohibited if a towbar is
being used.
Driving with a trailer subjects the towing
v e h i c l e t o m o r e s i g n i fi c a n t s t r e s s a n d
its driver must be particularly careful.
We recommend the use of
original CITROËN towbars
and their harnesses that have
been tested and approved from the
design stage of your vehicle and that
t h e fi t t i n g o f t h e t o w b a r i s e n t r u s t e d
to a CITROËN dealer.
I f t h e t o w b a r i s n o t fi t t e d b y a
CITROËN dealer, it is imperative
t h a t i t i s fi t t e d u s i n g t h e e l e c t r i c a l p r e -
equipment located at the rear of the
vehicle and in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Towbar suited to the attachment of
a trailer or caravan with additional
signalling and lighting.
Distribution of loads
Distribute the load in the trailer so
that the heaviest items are as close
a s p o s s i b l e t o t h e a x l e a n d t h e n o s e
w e i g h t a p p r o a c h e s t h e m a x i m u m
p e r m i t t e d w i t h o u t e x c e e d i n g i t .
Air density decreases with altitude, thus
reducing engine performance. Above
1 0 0 0 m e t r e s , t h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g
load must be reduced by 10 % of the
GTW and so on for every 1 000 metres
of altitude.
Refer to the “Technical Data” section for
details of the weights and towing loads
which apply to your vehicle.

FITTING ROOF BARS
M a x i m u m a u t h o r i s e d w e i g h t o n t h e
roof bars, for a loading height not
e x c e e d i n g 4 0 c m ( e x c e p t b i c y c l e
carriers): 80 kg.
I f t h e h e i g h t e x c e e d s 4 0 c m , a d a p t
the speed of the vehicle to the
condition of the road, to avoid
damaging the roof bars and the
fi x i n g s o n t h e r o o f .
Please refer to national legislation to
comply with the regulations regarding
the transportation of objects which
are longer than the vehicle.
Consult a CITROËN dealer for the
installation of longitudinal roof bars.
W h e n fi t t i n g t r a n s v e r s e r o o f b a r s ,
ensure that they are positioned correctly
as shown by marks on the longitudinal
roof bars.
Use accessories recommended by
CITROËN and follow the accessory
m a n u f a c t u r e r ’ s fi t t i n g i n s t r u c t i o n s .
In order to place a load on the roof, your
v e h i c l e m u s t b e fi t t e d w i t h l o n g i t u d i n a l
r o o f b a r s w i t h t r a n s v e r s e r o o f b a r s fi t t e d
on top of these.
The longitudinal roof bars cannot be
removed.
