Dipping the headlamps
With dipped beam on, push the control stalk away   from   you   to   change   to   main   beam.   Pull

  the   lighting   off   and   sidelamps   modes,   the

river   can   switch   on   the   main   beam   headlamps

emporarily   ("headlamp   flash")   by   maintaining   a

ull   on   the   stalk.

Illumination of the corresponding indicator lamp in   the   instrument   panel   confirms   the   lighting

witched   on.

Foglamp selection ring
The foglamp operates with the dipped and main beam h eadlamps.

n   the   rear   foglamp.
When
  the   lighting   is   switched   off   automatically  
(

with   AUTO   model)   or   when   the   dipped   beam

eadlamps   are   switched   off   manually,   the

oglamp   and   the   sidelamps   will   remain   on.

  good   or   rainy   weather,   both   day

nd   night,   use   of   the   rear   foglamp   is

In   these   weather   conditions,   it   is   your

esponsibility   to   switch   on   the   foglamp

nd   dipped   beam   headlamps   manually

s   the   sunshine   sensor   may   detect

ufficient   light.
Do   not   forget   to   switch   off   the   rear  f
oglamp   when   it   is   no   longer   needed.

On switching off the ignition, all of the l
amps   turn   off   immediately,   except   for

To reactivate the lighting control, rotate the   ring   to   the   "0"  position   -   lamps   off,

Temporarily keeping the dipped beam headlamps   on   after   the   vehicle's   ignition   has b

een   switched   off   makes   the   exit   of   the   vehicle's

ccupants   easier   when   the   light   is   poor.

These systems improve the stability and manoeuvrability   of   your   vehicle   when   braking  
a

nd   contribute   towards   better   control   in  
c

orners,   in   particular   on   poor   or   slippery   road  
su

rfaces.
The
  ABS   prevents   wheel   lock   in   the   event   of  
em

ergency
 b
raking.
The
  electronic   brake   force   distribution   system  
m

anages   the   braking   pressure   wheel   by   wheel.
Emergency braking assistance
In an emergency, this system enables you to reach   the   optimum   braking   pressure   more  
q

uickly   and   therefore   reduce   the   stopping  
di

stance.
It
  is   triggered   according   to   the   speed   at   which  
t

he   brake   pedal   is   pressed.   This   is   felt   by   a  
r

eduction   in   the   resistance   of   the   pedal   and   an  
i

ncrease   in   the   effectiveness   of   the   braking.
Traction control (TRC)
This system optimises traction in order to limit wheel   slip   by   acting   on   the   brakes   of   the   driving  
w

heels   and   on   the   engine.   It   also   improves  
t

he   directional   stability   of   the   vehicle   on  
a

cceleration.
Dynamic stability control (DSC)
If there is a difference between the path followed   by   the   vehicle   and   that   required   by   the  
d

river,   this   system   monitors   each   wheel   and  
a

utomatically   acts   on   the   brake   of   one   or   more  
w

heels   and   on   the   engine   to   return   the   vehicle  
t

o   the   required   path,   within   the   limits   of   the   laws  
o

f   physics.
