Fitting the steel or "space-
saver" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t
the washers do not come into con-
tact with the steel or "space-saver"
type spare wheel. The wheel is
secured by the conical contact of
each bolt.
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
According to country, the spare wheel
may be steel or of the "space-saver"
type.
For access to it, refer to the paragraph
"Access to tools" on the previous page.
Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt, and
remove it.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
R e fi t t h e y e l l o w c e n t r a l b o l t i n t h e
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
P u t t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x
back in place.

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and non-slip-
pery.
Apply the parking brake, switch off
t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r t o
lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
You must ensure that the occu-
pants get out of the vehicle and
wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle
r a i s e d u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e
stand.
Removing the wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 (with
allow wheels only).
Fit the security socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
bolt (if your vehicle has them).
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underbody, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
punctured) wheel easily.
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.

Put the wheel in place on the hub
using the centring guide 4 .
Screw in the bolts by hand as far as
possible.
Pre-tighten the security bolt (if your ve-
hicle has them) using the wheelbrace
1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e s e c u r i t y s o c k e t 5 .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Lower the vehicle fully.
Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in
t h e b o o t c o r r e c t l y , fi r s t r e m o v e t h e
central cover.
When using the "space-saver"
t y p e s p a r e w h e e l , d o n o t e x c e e d
5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) .
Have the tightening of the bolts
and the pressure of the spare
wheel checked by a CITROËN
dealer without delay.
Have the punctured wheel repaired
and replace it on the vehicle as
soon as possible.
Refitting the wheel
Tighten the security bolt (if your vehicle
has them) using the wheelbrace 1 fi t -
ted with the security socket 5 .
Tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.

CHANGING A BULB
Procedure for replacing a faulty bulb
with a new bulb.
1. Direction indicators
(H21W amber).
2. Dipped
beam
headlamps
(H7-55W).
3. Main beam headlamps (H1-55W).
4. Sidelamps
(W5W).
5. Foglamps
(PSX24W).
T h e h e a d l a m p s a r e fi t t e d w i t h p o l y -
carbonate glass with a protective
coating:
do not clean them using a dry
or abrasive cloth, nor with a
detergent or solvent product,
use a sponge and soapy water,
when using a high pressure
washer on persistent marks, do
not direct at the lamps or their
outlines for too long, so as not
to damage their protective coat-
ing and seals. Front lamps
Do not touch the bulb directly
w i t h y o u r fi n g e r s , u s e l i n t - f r e e
cloths.
Changing a bulb should only be
done after the headlamp has been
switched off for a few minutes (risk
of serious burns).
It is imperative to use only anti-ul-
traviolet (UV) type bulbs in order
not to damage the headlamp.
Always replace a failed bulb with a
new bulb with the same type and
s p e c i fi c a t i o n .

Changing direction indicator bulbs
Amber coloured bulbs, such as
the direction indicators, must be
replaced with bulbs of identical
s p e c i fi c a t i o n s a n d c o l o u r .
Remove the plastic protective cover.
Pull the bulb-holder and replace the
bulb.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n
reverse order.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g , c l o s e t h e p l a s t i c
cover carefully to ensure the sealing
of the headlamp. If either of the direction indicator
w a r n i n g l a m p s i s fl a s h i n g q u i c k l y ,
one of the bulbs is faulty.
Changing main beam headlamp
bulbs
Remove the protective plastic cover
by pulling on the tab.
Disconnect the bulb connector.
Move the springs to release the
bulb.
Remove the bulb and change it.

Changing sidelamp bulbs
Remove the protective plastic cover
by pulling on the tab.
Pull the bulb-holder.
Remove the bulb and replace it.

Changing dipped headlamp bulbs
Remove the protective plastic cover
by pulling on the tab.

Changing integrated direction
indicator side repeaters
Contact a CITROËN dealer to obtain
replacement repeaters.
Insert a screwdriver on the edge of
the repeater.
T i l t t h e s c r e w d r i v e r t o e x t r a c t t h e
repeater and remove it.
Disconnect the repeater connector.
When removing:
- be careful not to damage the paint- work of your vehicle with the screw-
driver,
- do not allow the wire and the connector to slide inside the wing.

reverse order.
I f y o u e x p e r i e n c e a n y d i f fi c u l t y
in replacing bulbs, contact your
CITROËN dealer. Changing front foglamp bulbs
To obtain them, contact your CITROËN
dealer.
Remove the grille located under the
foglamp.
Disconnect the bulb holder connec-
tor, by pressing on the tab.
Remove the bulb-holber by pressing
on the 2 clips (at the top and the
bottom).

Changing fog/reversing lamp bulbs
open the boot,
press on the tabs using 2 screwdrivers,
disconnect the lamp unit connector,
t u r n t h e b u l b h o l d e r b y a q u a r t e r
turn,
remove the bulb and replace it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n
reverse order. Changing the third stop lamp bulbs
(4 x W5W bulbs)
open the boot,
remove the two plugs located on the
boot inner panel,
press on the body of the lamp with
2 screwdrivers to remove it from its
housing,
turn the corresponding bulb-holder
a q u a r t e r t u r n ,
pull the bulb and replace it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n
reverse order. Changing the number plate lamp
bulbs (W5W)
insert a thin screwdriver into one of
t h e l e n s ' e x t e r i o r h o l e s ,
push it outwards to unclip.
remove the lens.
pull the bulb and replace it.

Interior lighting
Interior lamps (1/W5W)
Detach the cover of the interior lamp 1
with a thin screwdriver, close to the but-
ton, to access the faulty bulb.
Map reading lamps (2/W5W)
Detach the cover of the interior lamp. To
access the faulty bulb, detach the parti-
tion for the reading lamp 2 concerned,
as necessary. Footwell lamps (W5W)
Unclip the cover using a thin screw-
driver to access the faulty bulb.
Boot lamps (W5W)
Detach the unit by pushing it rear-
wards. Torch (Krypton 3.6V)
Open the tab.
P u s h w i t h a fl a t s c r e w d r i v e r i n t h e
hole under the tab and recover the
bulb unit.
Open the bulb unit fully to change
the bulb.
Door mirror lamps (W5W)
Unclip the cover using a thin screw-
driver to access the faulty bulb.

CHANGING A FUSE
Procedure for replacing a failed fuse
with a new fuse to rectify a failure of the
corresponding function.
Access to tools
T h e e x t r a c t i o n t w e e z e r a n d t h e s p a r e
fuse storage compartment are installed
o n t h e b a c k o f t h e d a s h b o a r d f u s e b o x
cover.
For access to them:
unclip the cover by pulling on the
side,
remove the cover completely,
r e m o v e t h e t w e e z e r . Changing a fuse
Before changing a fuse, the cause of
t h e f a i l u r e m u s t b e i d e n t i fi e d a n d r e c t i -
fi e d .
Identify the faulty fuse by checking
t h e c o n d i t i o n o f i t s fi l a m e n t .
U s e t h e s p e c i a l t w e e z e r t o e x t r a c t
the fuse from its housing.
Always replace the faulty fuse with a
fuse of the same rating.
Check that the number marked on
t h e f u s e b o x , t h e r a t i n g m a r k e d o n
the fuse and the following tables all
agree.
