Deactivation of passenger's airbag
When you switch on the ignition, the airbag warninglamp M lights up if the passenger's airbag has beendeactivated.
Hazard warning lamps
Driver's seat belt fastening sensor
When you switch on the ignition, seat belt warning lamp L lights up accompanied by a sound signal if the driver has not fastened his seat belt.
Warning lampLgoes out when the seat belt has been fastened.

STEERING LOCK – IGNITION – STA R T ER
NEVER REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY BEFORE THE ENGINE HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.
IT IS ESSENTIAL ALWAYS TO DRIVE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, SO AS TO RETAIN STEERING AND BRAKING ASSISTANCE (risk of the steering lock engaging and loss of safety features).
Do not hang a heavy object on the key; it could pull the key out of alignment in the switch and could cause a malfunction.
When stationary, having removed the key, carefully turn the steering wheel if you wish to lock the steering.
S: STEERING LOCK
To unlock the steering, gently move
the steering wheel while turning the
ke
y, without exerting undue force.
When you remove the key, turn
your steering wheel to lock the
steering. The key can only beremoved when in positionS.
M: DRIVE POSITION
The steering is unlocked (by turningthe key in positionM, if necessarymove the steering wheel).
STARTING AND STOPPINGTHE ENGINE
See "Driving".
ECONOMY MODE
In order not to discharge the bat-
tery while the engine is stopped,your vehicle goes automati-cally into economy mode after
a maximum of 30 minutes. Eco-nomy mode is indicated by a mes-sage on the screen.
The electrical components relatin
gto comfort and also the headlamps(not sidelamps or hazard warninglamps) cut out automatically. Toreactivate them, it is necessary tostart the engine.
Depending on your vehicle ver-
sion, the following warning lamps are tested:
If one of these warning lamps does
not light up, this indicates a mal-
function.
D: STARTING
Release the key as soon as the engine starts. Never turn it while
the engine is running.

display operates correctly. It
is recommended that it be changed by a CITROËN dealer
or a qualifi ed workshop.

Note: All the adjustments and selections you made before stop-ping the engine are retained whenyou restart. If there is a change of
driver, check whether these adjust-ments are suitable, alter them if necessary.
You are advised to adjustthese controls only whenthe vehicle is stationary.

REAR VIEW MIRRORS
Operation of the interior
rear-view mirror
Switch on the ignition and press button1.Warning lamp 2on (switch on):automatic mode.Warning lamp 2off: automaticmode off. The mirror stays at
its lightest setting.Note: For optimal vision, the inte-rior rear-view mirror lightens when reverse gear is engaged.


AUTOMATIC INTERIORREAR-VIEW MIRROR
This provides an automatic andprogressive transition between dayand night use.
To prevent glare, the mirror auto-matically darkens in relation to the
intensity of light coming from therear. It becomes lighter as soon as
the brightness diminishes, thereforeensuring optimum visibility.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM
This driving assistance device warns you when you unwittingly cross a lane marking (either a continuous or a dotted line on the road surface). It is desi-gned for use on motorways and dual carriageways, operating onlyabove
speeds of approx.50 mph (80 km/h).
ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION
A press on button 1activates the function, the warning lamp on the button lights up.
A second press on button 1 deactivates the function, the warning lamp on
the button goes out.
When you start the engine, the mode (activated/deactivated) selected when you stopped the engine is retained.
OPERATION
Above a speed of around 50 mph (80 km/h), if you cross a lane marking, you are alerted to this by a vibration within
the cushion of your seat:On the right hand side if you cross a lane marking to the right.
On the left hand side if you cross a lane marking to the left.
The system does not alert you if one of your direction indicators is operating and for approx. 20 seconds after the
direction indicator has stopped.
Remarks
This system is designed to identify traffi c lane markings.
In certain cases it ma
y trigger an alert that is unnecessary, for example if the vehicle passes over a directional arrow
or some unusual road marking.
The system may be affected temporarily by conditions external to the vehicle:Detection of lane markings made diffi cult by:
Markings being worn.Insuffi cient contrast with the general road surface.Sensors being negated by:
Driving in snow or heavy rain.Driving on roads that are covered with mud or water puddles.

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING
The system has a differentiated adjustment for the driver's side and passenger's side, in terms of temperature andair distribution. The air fl ow is common to both sides.
Symbols and messages relating to the automatic air conditioning controls will display on the multifunction screen.
2. TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the temperature, press on button2ato modifythe temperature on the passenger's side and on but-
ton 2b to modify it on the driver's side.
An ad
justment around 21 will give you the optimumcomfort level. However, depending on your preferences
anywhere between 18 and 24 is quite usual.
Operating the air conditioning system on"AUTO"guarantees good ventilation inside the cabin.Note:there may be a difference between the actual
cabin temperature and the fi gure displayed.
This is the normal operatin
g mode for the system. Depending on the temperature chosen, a press on this
button, confi rmed by the lighting of the warning lamp,
will automatically and simultaneously bring all the fol-lowing functions into play:Air fl ow.
Cabin temperature.
Air distribution.Exterior air intake/Air recirculation.
It is recommended to keep all the air vents open. Just by pressing any of the buttons, except for temperature 2aand 2b, you can change to manual mode. The warning lamp goes off, and the automatic air intake function is deactivated.
