Emergency braking assistance
System which, in an emergency, enables you to obtain the optimum braking pressure more
q
uickly, thus reducing the stopping distance.
Activation
It is triggered by the speed at which the brake pedal is pressed.
The effect of this is a reduction in the
resistance of the pedal and an increase in
braking
e
fficiency.
When
braking in an emergency, press
f
irmly without releasing the pressure.
Trajectory control systems
Anti-slip regulation (ASR)
and electronic stability
programme (ESP)
The anti-slip regulation (also known as Traction Control) optimises traction to prevent skidding
o
f the wheels, by acting on the brakes of the
d
riving wheels and on the engine.
The
electronic stability programme acts on the
b
rake of one or more wheels and on the engine
t
o keep the vehicle on the trajectory required
b
y the driver, within the limits of the laws of
p
hysics.Activation
These systems are activated automatically each time the vehicle is started.
They
come into operation in the event of a grip
o
r
t
rajectory
pro
blem.
This
is indicated by flashing of this
w
arning lamp in the instrument panel.

In exceptional conditions (starting a vehicle which is bogged down, stuck in snow, on soft

round...), it may be advisable to deactivate the

SR and ESP systems, so that the wheels can
m
ove freely and regain grip.

Reactivation
These systems are reactivated automatically each time the ignition is switched back on or

rom 30 mph (50 km/h) except 1.6 litre
(THP 150, THP 155 and THP 160) and

petrol engines.

Operating fault
The ESP/ASR systems offer exceptional s afety i n n ormal d riving, b ut

his should not encourage the driver to

ake extra risks or drive at high speed.

correct functioning of these

ecommendations

heels (tyres and rims),

After
an impact, have these systems

Active City Brake
Active City Brakeis a driving assistance system that aims to avoid a frontal collision or reduce
t
he speed of an impact if the driver does
n
ot take sufficient action (inadequate brake
a
pplication).
This system is designed to improve driving safety.
I t remains the driver's responsibility to c
ontinuously monitor the state of the traffic and
t
o assess the distances and relative speeds of
other
v
ehicle.
Active City Brakecan in no circumstances replace the need for vigilance on the part of t
he
d
river.

he vehicle is not in a tight corner,
●
t
he system has not been triggered during

he previous 10 seconds.

owards the inside of the vehicle.
The
curtain airbag inflates between the front or

ear occupant of the vehicle and the windows.
Operating fault
In the event of a minor impact or bump on the side of the vehicle or if the
vehicle
rolls over, the airbag may not be
d
eployed.
In the event of a rear or front collision,
the
airbag is not deployed.
If
this warning lamp comes on in the
i
nstrument panel, accompanied by
a
n audible signal and a message
i
n the screen, contact a CITR

qualified workshop to have the system

hecked. The airbags may no longer be

eployed in the event of a serious impact.

quip its vehicles with an effective system that

ssociates SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction)
with
a particle filter (FAP) for the treatment of

xhaust gases.
Presentation of the ScR s ystem
Using an additive called AdBlue® containing u
rea, a catalytic converter turns up to
85% of
nitrous
oxides
(NOx)
into
nitrogen
a
nd
water,
which
are
harmless
to health and
t
he environment. The
a d
blu
e
® additive is held in a special
tank
located
under the boot at the rear of
t
he
vehicle.
It has a capacity of 17 litres: this
p
rovides
a
driving range of about 12 500 miles
(
20
000
km),
after which an alert is triggered

arning

when the reserve remaining is

just 1 500 miles (2 400 km).

scheduled service of your vehicle
