WHAT IS THE REAR VIEW
CAMERA
The rear view camera provides a videoimage of the area behind your vehicle whenthe transmission is in reverse (R).

WARNING: The rear view camerasystem is a reverse aid supplementdevice that still requires the driver to useit in conjunction with the interior andexterior mirrors for maximum coverage.
WARNING: Objects that are closeto either corner of the bumper or underthe bumper, might not be seen on thescreen due to the limited coverage of thecamera system.
WARNING: Reverse your vehicleslowly. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in the loss of control of yourvehicle, personal injury or death.
WARNING: Use caution when thetailgate is ajar. If the tailgate is ajar, thecamera is out of position and the videoimage could be incorrect. All guide linesdisappear when the tailgate is ajar.Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in personal injury.
WARNING: Use caution whenturning camera features on or off whenthe transmission is not in park (P). Makesure your vehicle is not moving.
Note: When towing, the camera only seeswhat you are towing. This might not provideadequate coverage and you might not seesome objects. In some vehicles, the guidelines may disappear when you connect thetrailer tow connector.

Adaptive Cruise Control
Adaptive cruise control uses a radar sensorto adjust your vehicle speed to maintain aset gap between you and the vehicle infront of you in the same lane.

When Following a Vehicle
WARNING: When following avehicle that is braking, your vehicle doesnot always decelerate quickly enough toavoid a crash without driver intervention.Apply the brakes when necessary. Failureto follow this instruction could result inpersonal injury or death.
Hilly Condition Usage
You should select a lower gear when thesystem is active in situations such asprolonged downhill driving on steep slopes,for example in mountainous areas. Thesystem needs additional engine braking inthese situations to reduce the load on thevehicle’s regular brake system to preventit from overheating.

SPORT - ADVANCED 4X4 WITH 4AMODE, EXCLUDING: RAPTOR
For sporty driving with improvedperformance handling andresponse. This mode increasesaccelerator pedal response and providesa sportier steering feel. The powertrainsystem holds onto lower gears longer,helping your vehicle accelerate faster.
Four-wheel drive auto (4A) is the defaultfour-wheel drive mode. Four-wheel drivelow (4L) is not selectable in sport mode.
The front electronic locking differential isnot available in sport mode. The rearelectronic locking differential is availablebelow 25 mph (40 km/h).
The stabilizer bar disconnect is notavailable in sport mode.

SPORT - RAPTOR
For sporty driving with improvedperformance, handling andresponse.
This mode increases accelerator pedalresponse and provides a sportier steeringfeel. The powertrain system holds ontolower gears longer, helping your vehicleaccelerate faster.
Two-wheel drive high (2H) is the defaultfour-wheel drive mode. Four-wheel drivelow (4L) is not available in sport mode.Sport is the default steering, suspensionand exhaust modes, and the stabilizer baris connected by default.
The system tunes the engine andtransmission controls to sport mode. Thesystem tunes the stability and tractioncontrols to normal mode.
The rear electronic locking differential isavailable below 25 mph (40 km/h), butthe front electronic locking differential isnot available. See Switching theElectronic Locking Differential On andOff (page 203).
TOW/HAUL - RAPTOR
For improved transmissionoperation when towing a traileror a heavy load. This modemoves upshifts to higher engine speeds toreduce the frequency of transmissionshifting.
Tow/haul mode also provides enginebraking in all forward gears, which slowsyour vehicle and assists you in controllingyour vehicle when descending a slope. Theamount of downshift braking providedvaries based on the amount of pressureyou apply to the brake pedal.

WHAT IS BLIND SPOT
INFORMATION SYSTEM
Blind spot information system detectsvehicles that may have entered the blindspot zone.
HOW DOES BLIND SPOT
INFORMATION SYSTEM WORK
Blind spot information system usessensors on both sides of your vehicle,detecting rearward from the exteriormirrors to approximately 13 ft (4 m)beyond the rear bumper. The detectionarea extends to approximately 59 ft (18 m)beyond the rear bumper when the vehiclespeed is greater than 30 mph (48 km/h)to alert you of faster approaching vehicles.

SYSTEM PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Do not use the blindspot information system as areplacement for using the interior andexterior mirrors or looking over yourshoulder before changing lanes. Theblind spot information system is not areplacement for careful driving.
WARNING: The system may notoperate properly during severe weatherconditions, for example snow, ice, heavyrain and spray. Always drive with duecare and attention. Failure to take caremay result in a crash.
Note: Blind spot information system doesnot prevent contact with other vehicles. Itdoes not detect parked vehicles,pedestrians, animals or other infrastructure.

Blind spot information system does notoperate in park (P) or reverse (R).
The system may not alert you if a vehiclequickly passes through the detection zone.
Note:For vehicles without blind spotinformation system with trailer coverage,aftermarket trailer tow modules or tow barsmay interfere with the system. In thissituation it is recommended that you switchthe system off when you attach a trailer. Forvehicles with a trailer tow module and towbar approved by the manufacturer, thesystem automatically turns off when youattach a trailer.

PRE-COLLISION ASSIST
LIMITATIONS
Pre-collision assist depends on thedetection ability of its camera and sensors.Any obstructions or damage to these areascan limit detection or prevent the systemfrom functioning. See Locating thePre-Collision Assist Sensors (page 288).
The system is active at 3 mph (5 km/h)and above.
Note:The pre-collision assist systemautomatically disables when you selectfour-wheel drive low, manually disableAdvanceTrac™, or select rock crawl mode.
Note:Brake support and automaticemergency braking are active up to themaximum speed of the vehicle.
Pedestrian Detection Limitations
Pedestrian detection is active at speedsup to 50 mph (80 km/h).
Pedestrian detection operates optimallywhen detected hazards are clearlyidentifiable. System performance mayreduce in situations where pedestrians arerunning, partly obscured, have a complexbackground, or cannot be distinguishedfrom a group.

Before you load yourvehicle, become familiar with thefollowing terms for determiningyour vehicle’s weight rating, withor without a trailer, from thevehicle’s Tire and LoadingInformation label or SafetyCompliance Certification label.
WARNING: Theappropriate loading capacity ofyour vehicle can be limited eitherby volume capacity (how muchspace is available) or by payloadcapacity (how much weight thevehicle should carry). Once youhave reached the maximumpayload of your vehicle, do notadd more cargo, even if there isspace available. Overloading orimproperly loading your vehiclecan contribute to loss of vehiclecontrol and vehicle rollover.

GVWR is the maximum allowableweight of the fully loaded vehicle.This includes all options,equipment, passengers and cargo.It appears on the SafetyCompliance Certification label.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM
LOADED TRAILER WEIGHT
Maximum loaded trailer weight is thehighest possible weight of a fully loadedtrailer the vehicle can tow. Consult anauthorized dealer (or the RV and TrailerTowing Guide available at an authorizeddealer) for more detailed information. SeeTowing a Trailer (page 307).

COMBINED WEIGHT RATING
Gross Combined Weight Rating(GCWR) is the maximumallowable weight of the vehicleand the loaded trailer, includingall cargo and passengers, that thevehicle can handle without risking

CALCULATING PAYLOAD
Tire and Loading Label InformationExample:
Payload is the combined weightof cargo and passengers that yourvehicle is carrying. The maximumpayload for your vehicle appearson the Tire and Loading label. Thelabel is either on the B-pillar or theedge of the driver door. Vehiclesexported outside the US andCanada may not have a tire andloading label.
