The seatbelt pretensioners are designedto tighten the seatbelts when activated. Infrontal and near-frontal crashes, theseatbelt pretensioners may be activatedalone or, if the crash is of sufficient severity,together with the front airbags. In sidecrashes and rollovers, the pretensionerswill be activated when the Safety Canopyis activated.
FASTENING AND
UNFASTENING THE
SEATBELTS
All seatbelts in your vehicle are athree-point combination lap and shoulderseatbelt.

1.Pull the seatbelt out steadily.
Note:It may lock if you pull it sharply or ifthe vehicle is on a slope.
2.Insert the tongue into the buckle.
3.Pull the seatbelt tight to remove anyslack.
Unfastening the Seatbelts
1.Press the red button on the buckle torelease the seatbelt.
2.Hold the seatbelt tongue and let itretract completely and smoothly to itsstowed position.
SENSITIVE LOCKING MODE
WHAT IS SENSITIVE LOCKINGMODE
Sensitive locking mode is a seatbeltretractor feature that allows shoulder beltlength adjustment according to yourmovements and locking in response tovehicle movement.
HOW DOES SENSITIVE LOCKINGMODE WORK
If the driver suddenly brakes, turns a cornersharply, or the vehicle receives an impactof about 5 mph (8 km/h) or more, theseatbelts lock to help reduce forwardmovement of the driver and passengers.
In addition, the seatbelt retractor locks ifyou pull the seatbelt webbing out tooquickly. If the retractor does not unlock,pull the seatbelt out slowly then feed asmall length of webbing back toward thestowed position.
Note:When driving off-road or at a severeangle, the seatbelt mechanism locks. It doesnot allow you to pull the seatbelt webbingout until your vehicle is on nearly levelground.

WARNING: Only use theequipment supplied with the winch whenwinching.
WARNING: Do not engage ordisengage the winch clutch when thewinch is in use.
WARNING: The winch andassociated components become hotwhen in use. Let them cool down beforeremoving them.
WARNING: Do not attempt toservice, repair or modify the winchingsystem. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in personal injury or death.
WARNING: Make sure to properlystore the winch rope to the shackle pointor fairlead when not in use. Failure toproperly store the winch rope couldcause it to become a projectile.
WINCHING REQUIREMENTS
To winch your vehicle, make sure of thefollowing:
•The intended anchor point is secure.The anchor point must be strongenough to hold the weight of yourvehicle when winching.
•The intended anchor point allows youto pull your vehicle straight ahead.
•The intended anchor point is as faraway as possible, within the 100 ft(30 m) rope length. This allows thegreatest pulling power for the winch.
•The winch rope is in good condition andfree of visible cuts, tear or damage.
•Use a damper device such as a tarp,heavy blanket or piece of carpet, andplace it over the winch rope to helpabsorb the energy in the event thewinch rope breaks.
•Bystanders are to the sides of thevehicle, at a distance of at least twicethe length of the winch rope.

Front recovery hooks.A.
Note:Do not apply a load to the recoveryhooks that is greater than the gross vehicleweight rating of your vehicle.
Before using recovery hooks:
•Make sure all attaching points aresecure and capable of withstandingthe applied load.
•Do not use chains, cables or tow strapswith metal hook ends.
•Only use recovery straps that have aminimum breaking strength two tothree times the gross vehicle weight ofthe stuck vehicle.
•Make sure the recovery strap is in goodcondition and free of visible cuts, tearsor damage.
•Use a damper device such as a tarp,heavy blanket or piece of carpet, andplace it over the recovery strap to helpabsorb the energy in the event thestrap breaks.
•Make sure the stuck vehicle is notloaded heavier than its gross vehicleweight rating specified on thecertification label.
•Align the tow vehicle and stuck vehiclein a straight line, within 10 degrees.
•Keep bystanders to the sides of thevehicle, at a distance of at least twicethe length of the recovery strap. Thishelps avoid injury from the hazard of arecovery hook or strap breaking, or avehicle lurching into their path.

WARNING: Using recovery hooksis dangerous and should only be done bya person familiar with proper vehiclerecovery safety practices. Improper useof recovery hooks may cause hook failureor separation from the vehicle and couldresult in serious injury or death.
WARNING: Slowly remove theslack from the recovery strap prior topulling. Failure to do so can introducesignificantly higher loads which cancause the recovery hooks to break off, orthe recovery strap to fail which can causeserious injury or death.
WARNING: Never link two strapstogether with a clevis pin. These heavymetal objects could become projectilesif the strap breaks and can cause seriousinjury or death.
