•To reduce the chances of interferencefrom another vehicle, perform thesystem reset procedure at least threefeet (one meter) away from anotherFord Motor Company vehicleundergoing the system reset procedureat the same time.
•Do not wait more than two minutesbetween resetting each tire sensor orthe system will time-out and the entireprocedure will have to be repeated onall four wheels.
•A double horn will sound indicating theneed to repeat the procedure.
Performing the System Reset Procedure
Read the entire procedure beforeattempting.
1. Drive the vehicle above 20 mph (32km/h) for at least two minutes, thenpark in a safe location where you caneasily get to all four tires and haveaccess to an air pump.
2.Place the ignition in the off position andkeep the key in the ignition.
3. Cycle the ignition to the on positionwith the engine off.
4. Turn the hazard flashers on then offthree times. You must accomplish thiswithin 10 seconds. If the reset modehas been entered successfully, the hornwill sound once, the system indicatorwill flash and a message is shown inthe information display. If this does notoccur, please try again starting at Step2. If after repeated attempts to enterthe reset mode, the horn does notsound, the system indicator does notflash and no message is shown in theinformation display, seek service fromyour authorized dealer.
5. Train the tire pressure monitoringsystem sensors in the tires using thefollowing system reset sequencestarting with the left front tire in thefollowing clockwise order: Left front(driver's side front tire), Right front(passenger's side front tire), Right rear(passenger's side rear tire), Left rear(driver's side rear tire).
6. Remove the valve cap from the valvestem on the left front tire. Decrease theair pressure until the horn sounds.Note: The single horn chirp confirmsthat the sensor identification code hasbeen learned by the module for thisposition. If a double horn is heard, thereset procedure was unsuccessful, andyou must repeat it.
7. Remove the valve cap from the valvestem on the right front tire. Decreasethe air pressure until the horn sounds.
8. Remove the valve cap from the valvestem on the right rear tire. Decrease theair pressure until the horn sounds.
9. Remove the valve cap from the valvestem on the left rear tire. Decrease theair pressure until the horn sounds.Training is complete after the hornsounds for the last tire trained (driver'sside rear tire), the system indicatorstops flashing, and a message is shownin the information display.
10.Turn the ignition off. If two short hornbeeps are heard, the reset procedurewas unsuccessful and you mustrepeat it. If after repeating theprocedure and two short beeps areheard when the ignition is turned tooff, seek assistance from yourauthorized dealer.

Set the strongest stations on the radio frequency by pressing MENU untilAUTOSET appears. AUTOSET does not override your original presets.
RBDS displays text transmitted by certain radio stations and searches for musiccategories. To search for music categories, turn on RBDS (by using the SEEKbuttons when RBDS ON/OFF appears). Press the up and down arrow buttonsto scroll through categories, then use the SEEK buttons to begin the search.
SPEEDVOL (speed compensated volume) allows you to adjust radio volumeto compensate for noise levels when vehicle speed increases.

Track/Folder is only available on MP3 files when in CD mode. In track mode,pressing the SEEK arrows allows you to scroll through all the tracks on the disc.In folder mode, pressing the SEEK arrows allows you to scroll through all thetracks within the selected folder. Press the FOLDER buttons to access otherfolders.
COMPRESS (Compression) is only available in CD and MP3 modes. Switchingcompression on brings the soft and loud passages together for a more consistentlistening level. Use the SEEK buttons and up and down arrow buttons to switchit on and off.
AUX: Press to access the media features of the SYNC system. See SYNC™(page 329).F
SEEK: In radio mode, press and release these buttons to go to the next (orprevious) preset radio station or disc track. In CD and MP3 modes, press thesebuttons to select the next (or previous) track, or press and hold to advance (orreverse) within the same track.

Seek, Reverse and Fast Forward:F
In radio mode, select a frequency band and press one of these buttons. Thesystem stops at the first station it finds in that direction.
In Sirius mode, press these buttons to select the previous or next channel. If aspecific category is selected (such as Jazz, Rock or News), use these buttonsto find the previous or next channel in the selected category.
In CD mode, press these buttons to select the previous or next track.
MEDIA: Press this button to access different audio modes, such as AM, FM andA/V Input.G
DIGITAL RADIO
Note:HD Radio broadcasts are notavailable in all markets.
HD Radio technology is the digitalevolution of analog AM/FM radio. Yoursystem has a special receiver that allowsit to receive digital broadcasts (whereavailable) in addition to the analogbroadcasts, it already receives. Digitalbroadcasts provide a better sound qualitythan analog broadcasts with free,crystal-clear audio and no static ordistortion. For more information, and aguide to available stations andprogramming, please visitwww.hdradio.com.
When HD Radio is on and you tune to astation broadcasting HD Radio technology,you may notice the HD Radio logo on yourscreen. When this logo is available, youmay also see Title and Artist fieldson-screen.
The multicast indicator appears in FMmode (only) if the current station isbroadcasting multiple digital broadcasts.The highlighted numbers signify availabledigital channels where new or differentcontent is available. HD1 signifies the mainprogramming status and is available inanalog and digital broadcasts. Othermulticast stations (HD2 through HD7) areonly available digitally.
When HD Radio broadcasts are active, youcan access the following functions:
•Scan allows you to hear a briefsampling of all available stations. Thisfeature still works when HD Radioreception is on, although it does notscan for HD2-HD7 channels. You maysee the HD logo appear if the stationhas a digital broadcast.
•Memory presets allow you to save anactive channel as a memory preset.Touch and hold a memory preset slotuntil the sound returns. There is a briefmute while the radio saves the station.Sound returns when finished. Whenswitching to an HD2 or HD3 memorypreset, the sound mutes before thedigital audio plays, because the systemhas to reacquire the digital signal.

When using SYNC:

•Do not leave playing devices in yourvehicle during extreme conditions as itcould cause them damage. See yourdevice's manual for further information.
•Do not attempt to service or repair thesystem. See an authorized dealer.
Privacy Information
When a cellular phone is connected toSYNC, the system creates a profile withinyour vehicle that is linked to that cellularphone. This profile is created in order tooffer you more cellular features and tooperate more efficiently. Among otherthings, this profile may contain data aboutyour cellular phone book, text messages(read and unread), and call history,including history of calls when your cellularphone was not connected to the system.In addition, if you connect a media device,the system creates and retains an index ofsupported media content. The system alsorecords a short development log ofapproximately 10 minutes of all recentsystem activity. The log profile and othersystem data may be used to improve thesystem and help diagnose any problemsthat may occur.
The cellular profile, media device index,and development log will remain in thevehicle unless you delete them and aregenerally accessible only in the vehiclewhen the cellular phone or media playeris connected. If you no longer plan to usethe system or the vehicle, we recommendyou perform a Master Reset to erase allstored information.

2.Press the OK button when the desired selection appearsin the display. SYNC returns you to the Advanced menu.
1.Press OK to select and then scroll through the languages.Choose between English, Français and Español. Onceselected, all of the radio displays and prompts are in theselected language.
2. Press OK when the desired selection appears in thedisplay. If you change the language setting, the displayindicates that the system is updating. When complete,SYNC returns you to the Advanced menu.

Return to the factory default settings. This selection doesnot erase your indexed information, for example phonebook,call history, text messages or paired devices.

Press the OK button to select and then press OK again whenthe following message appears in the display.
Confirm Restore
Completely erase all information stored on SYNC, for examplephonebook, call history, text messages and paired devices,and return the system to the factory default settings.
