GENERAL INFORMATION ON
RADIO FREQUENCIES
This device complies with Part 15 of theFCC Rules and with Industry Canadalicense-exempt RSS standard(s).Operation is subject to the following twoconditions: (1) This device may not causeharmful interference, and (2) This devicemust accept any interference received,including interference that may causeundesired operation.
WARNING: Changes ormodifications not expressively approvedby the party responsible for compliancecould void the user's authority to operatethe equipment. The term "IC:" before theradio certification number only signifiesthat Industry Canada technicalspecifications were met.
The typical operating range for yourtransmitter is approximately 33 ft (10 m).Vehicles with the remote start feature willhave a greater range.
One of the following could cause adecrease in operating range:
•Weather conditions.
•Nearby radio towers.
•Structures around the vehicle.
•Other vehicles parked next to yourvehicle.
The radio frequency used by your remotecontrol can also be used by other radiotransmitters, for example amateur radios,medical equipment, wireless headphones,wireless remote controls, cell phones,battery chargers and alarm systems. If thefrequencies are jammed, you will not beable to use your remote control. You canlock and unlock the doors with the key.
Note:Make sure to lock your vehicle beforeleaving it unattended.
Note:If you are in range, the remote controlwill operate if you press any buttonunintentionally.
Note:The remote control contains sensitiveelectrical components. Exposure to moistureor impact may cause permanent damage.
Intelligent Access (If Equipped)
The system uses a radio frequency signalto communicate with your vehicle andauthorize your vehicle to unlock when oneof the following conditions are met:
•You activate the front exterior doorhandle switch.
•You press the luggage compartmentbutton.
•You press a button on the transmitter.
If excessive radio frequency interferenceis present in the area or if the transmitterbattery is low, you may need tomechanically unlock your door. You canuse the mechanical key blade in yourintelligent access key to open the driverdoor in this situation. See RemoteControl (page 58).
REMOTE CONTROL
Remote Control Limitations
The system may not function if:
•The remote control remains stationaryfor about a minute.
•The vehicle battery has no charge.
•The remote control battery has nocharge.
•There is interference causing issueswith the remote control frequencies.
•The remote control is too close tometal objects or electronic devices, forexample keys or a cell phone.

Intelligent Access Key
Note:You may not be able to shift out ofpark (P) unless the remote control is insideyour vehicle.
The remote control operates the powerlocks and the remote start system. Thekey must be in your vehicle to use the pushbutton start.
Removable Key Blade
The remote control also contains aremovable key blade that you can use tounlock your vehicle.
Push the release button and pull the keyblade out.
Note: Your vehicle keys came with asecurity label that provides important keycut information. Keep the label in a safeplace for future reference.
Using the Key Blade
The key cylinder is under a cap on the driverdoor handle.
To remove the cap:

1.Insert the key blade into the slot on thebottom of the handle and applyupward pressure.
2.While maintaining upward pressure,move the cap rearward to release it.Gently remove the key while doing so.
To install the cap:
1.Place the cap just forward of the keycylinder.
2.Applying pressure to the cap, move itforward until it is in place. You mayhear a snap as it engages.
Make sure you have properly installed thecap by trying to move it rearward.
Replacing the Battery
WARNING: Keep batteries awayfrom children to prevent ingestion.Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in personal injury or death. Ifingested, immediately seek medicalattention.
WARNING: If the batterycompartment does not securely close,stop using the remote control andreplace it as soon as possible. In themeantime, keep the remote control awayfrom children. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
A message appears in the informationdisplay when the remote control batteryis low. See Information Messages (page112).
The remote control uses one coin-typethree-volt lithium battery CR2450 orequivalent.

1.Push the release button and pull thekey blade out.
2.Twist a thin coin under the tab hiddenbehind the key blade head to removethe battery cover.

3.Insert a suitable tool, for example ascrewdriver, in the position shown andcarefully remove the battery.
Note:Refer to local regulations whendisposing of remote control batteries.
Note:Do not wipe off any grease on thebattery terminals or on the back surface ofthe circuit board.
Note: Replacing the battery does not erasethe programmed key from your vehicle. Theremote control should operate normally.
4.Install a new battery with the + facingupward.
5.Reinstall the battery cover and the keyblade.
Car Finder
Press the button twice withinthree seconds. The horn soundsand the direction indicatorsflash. We recommend you use this methodto locate your vehicle, rather than usingthe panic alarm.
Sounding the Panic Alarm
Press the button to sound thepanic alarm. Press the buttonagain or switch the ignition on toturn it off.
Note:The panic alarm only operates whenthe ignition is off.
Memory Feature
You can program your intelligent accesskey to recall memory positions. SeeMemory Function (page 136).
REPLACING A LOST KEY OR
REMOTE CONTROL
Replacement keys or remote controls canbe purchased from an authorized dealer.Authorized dealers can program remotecontrols for your vehicle.

WHAT IS MYKEY
MyKey allows you to program keys withrestricted driving modes to promote gooddriving habits.
MYKEY SETTINGS
NON-CONFIGURABLE MYKEYSETTINGS
Seatbelt Reminder or Belt-Minder™
MyKey mutes the audio system until thedrivers, and in some instances, passengers,fasten their seatbelts.
Note:If your vehicle includes an AM/FMradio or a very basic audio system, then theradio may not mute.
Satellite Radio (If Equipped)
Satellite radio adult content restrictions.
Early Low Fuel
The low fuel level warning lamp turns onearlier.
Driving and Parking Aids
Parking aids, blind spot information systemand cross traffic alert turn on when youstart the engine and cannot be switchedoff with a MyKey.
Pre-collision assist and lane keeping alertturn on when you start the engine, but canbe switched off with a MyKey.
A new destination in the navigation systemcan only be set using voice commandswhen using a MyKey, and with your vehiclemoving.
Note:MyKey drivers may be able to turnthe lane departure warning feature off, butthis feature turns back on automaticallywith every new key cycle.
CONFIGURABLE MYKEYSETTINGS
You can configure the following settingsafter creating a MyKey. See Creating aMyKey (page 64).
Speed Limit
WARNING: Do not set MyKeymaximum speed limit to a limit that willprevent the driver from maintaining asafe speed considering posted speedlimits and prevailing road conditions. Thedriver is always responsible to drive inaccordance with local laws andprevailing conditions. Failure to do socould result in accident or injury.
You can set a speed limit for your vehicle.Warning messages appear in theinformation display and a tone sounds ifyour vehicle reaches the set speed. Youcannot override the set speed when usinga MyKey.
Speed Reminder
You can set a speed reminder for yourvehicle. Warning messages appear in theinformation display and a tone sounds ifyour vehicle exceeds the set speed.
Audio System Volume Limit
The audio system maximum volume isreduced. A message appears in theinformation display if you attempt toexceed the volume limit. Automaticvolume control turns off.

Emergency Assistance
If you set emergency assistance to alwayson, you cannot switch it off with a MyKey.
Do Not Disturb
If you set do not disturb to always on, youcannot switch it off with a MyKey.
Note:If a phone is connected using AppleCarPlay or Android Auto while driving witha MyKey, the driver can receive phone callsand text messages even if the do not disturbrestriction is on. If the vehicle comes withsatellite radio, the adult content is notrestricted.
Traction Control
If you set traction control to always on, youcannot switch it off with a MyKey.
CREATING A MYKEY
1.Remove the rubber covering (A) in thecupholder.
2.Place the remote control in the backupslot (B) with the buttons facing up andthe key ring toward the front of yourvehicle.
3.Switch the ignition on.
4.Using your touchscreen, press Menu.
5.Press Settings.
6.Press Vehicle.
7.Press MyKey.
8.Press Create MyKey.
9.Press Yes if you want to create the keyas MyKey. A confirmation messageappears on the screen.
10.Switch the ignition off.
Note:We recommend that you label thiskey.
PROGRAMMING A MYKEY
You can only program each MyKey to thesame settings.
1.Switch the ignition on using an adminkey.
2.Select Settings and press the menubutton.
3.Select Settings.
4.Select MyKey.
5.Select a setting and press the OKbutton.
6.Configure the setting.
7.Switch the ignition off.
CLEARING ALL MYKEYS
When you clear all MyKeys, you remove allrestrictions and return all MyKeys to theiroriginal admin key status.
1.Switch the ignition on using an adminkey.
2.Using your touchscreen, press Menu.
3.Press Settings.
4.Press Vehicle.
5.Press MyKey.
6.Press Clearing All MyKeys.
7.Press Yes to clear all MyKeys from yourvehicle.
