SENSITIVE LOCKING MODE
WHAT IS SENSITIVE LOCKINGMODE
Sensitive locking mode is a seatbeltretractor feature that allows shoulder beltlength adjustment according to yourmovements and locking in response tovehicle movement.
HOW DOES SENSITIVE LOCKINGMODE WORK
If the driver suddenly brakes, turns a cornersharply, or the vehicle receives an impactof about 5 mph (8 km/h) or more, theseatbelts lock to help reduce forwardmovement of the driver and passengers.
In addition, the seatbelt retractor locks ifyou pull the seatbelt webbing out tooquickly. If the retractor locks, slowly lowerthe height adjuster to allow the seatbeltto retract.
If the retractor does not unlock, pull theseatbelt out slowly then feed a smalllength of webbing back toward the stowedposition.
AUTOMATIC LOCKING MODE
WHAT IS AUTOMATIC LOCKINGMODE
This is a safety feature built into theseatbelt retractors that keeps theseatbelts pre-locked.
WHEN TO USE AUTOMATICLOCKING MODE
Use this mode any time you install a childrestraint in a front outermost passengerseating position or any rear seatingposition. Properly restrain children 12 yearsold and under in a rear seat wheneverpossible.
Note:Automatic locking mode is notavailable on the driver seatbelt.
ENGAGING AUTOMATIC LOCKINGMODE
1.Fasten the combination lap andshoulder belt.
2.Grasp the shoulder portion and pulldownward until you pull the entire beltout.
3.Allow the belt to retract. As the beltretracts, you will hear a clicking sound. This indicates the seatbelt is now in theautomatic locking mode.
DISENGAGING AUTOMATICLOCKING MODE

Note:If prediluted coolant is not available, use the approved concentrated coolantdiluting it to 50/50 with distilled water. SeeCooling System Capacity andSpecification (page 366). Using water thathas not been deionized could contribute todeposit formation, corrosion and pluggingof the small cooling system passageways.
Note:Coolants marketed for all makes andmodels might not meet our specificationsand could cause damage to the coolingsystem. Resulting component damagecould void the vehicle warranty.
If the coolant level is at or below theminimum mark, add prediluted coolantimmediately.
To top up the coolant level do thefollowing:
1.Unscrew the cap slowly. Any pressureescapes as you unscrew the cap.
2.Add prediluted coolant approved tothe correct specification. See CoolingSystem Capacity and Specification(page 366).
3.Add enough prediluted coolant toreach the correct level.
4.Replace the coolant reservoir cap. Turnthe cap clockwise until it contacts thehard stop.
5.Check the coolant level in the coolantreservoir the next few times you driveyour vehicle. If necessary, add enoughprediluted coolant to bring the coolantlevel to the correct level.
If you have to add more than 1.1 qt (1 L) ofcoolant per month, have your vehiclechecked as soon as possible. Operatingyour vehicle with a low level of coolant canresult in overheating and possible electricmotor damage.
In case of emergency, you can add a largeamount of water without coolant in orderto reach a vehicle service location. In thisinstance, have qualified personnel do thefollowing as soon as possible:
1.Drain the cooling system.
2.Chemically clean the coolant system.
3.Refill with coolant.
Water alone, without coolant, can causedamage from corrosion, overheating orfreezing.
Do not use the following as a coolantsubstitute:
•Alcohol.
•Methanol.
•Brine.
•Any coolant mixed with alcohol ormethanol antifreeze.
Alcohol and other liquids can causedamage from overheating or freezing.
Do not add extra inhibitors or additives tothe coolant. These can be harmful andcompromise the corrosion protection ofthe coolant.
Recycled Coolant
We do not recommend the use of recycledcoolant, as an approved recycling processis not yet available.
Dispose of used coolant in an appropriatemanner. Follow your community'sregulations and standards for recycling anddisposing of automotive fluids.
