Ultrawide Rear Entertainment SystemThere are various types of DVDs
available. Some of them are not
compatible with your system.
The DVD player in your rear
entertainment system can play
DVDs and CDs bearing the above
marks on their packages or jackets.Those packages or jackets should
also bear the designation of ‘‘1’’ or
‘‘ALL’’ region. DVD-ROMs cannot be
played in this system.
This product incorporates copyright
protection technology that is
protected by U.S. patents and other
intellectual property rights.
Use of this copyright protection
technology must be authorized by
Macrovision, and is intended f or
home and other limited viewing uses
only unless otherwise authorized by
Macrovision. The DVD player can also play discs
recorded in MP3/WMA/AAC
f ormats and DTS CDs.
The tips on how to handle and
protect DVDs are basically the same
as those f or compact discs. Ref er to
‘‘Protecting Your CDs’’ on page .352

Error Message Cause
Insert a dif f erent disc. If the new
disc plays, there is a problem with
the f irst disc. If the error message
cycle repeats and you cannot clear it,
take your vehicle to a dealer. Theaudiosystemwilltrytoplaythe
disc. If there is still a problem, the
error message will reappear. Press
the eject button, and pull out the disc. If you see an error message in the
display while playing a disc, press
the eject button. After ejecting the
disc, check it for damage or
deformation. If there is no damage,
insert the disc again. Thechartontherightexplainsthe
error messages you may see in the
display while playing a disc. Solution

Mechanical ErrorPress the disc eject button, and remove the disc.
Check for an error indication. Insert the disc
again. If the code does not disappear, consult
your dealer.
Will disappear when the temperature returns to
normal.
The disc is not playable in this unit. Eject the
disc, and insert a disc compatible with this
system.
Press the EJECT button and pull out the disc.
Check the disc for serious damage, signs of
deformation, excessive scratches, and/or dirt
(see page
353). Insert the disc again. If the code
does not disappear, or the disc cannot be
removed, consult your dealer. Do not try to
force the disc out of the player.

If it takes several pushes on the
button to operate the rear
entertainment system, have your
dealer replace the batteries as soon
as possible.
The rear control panel can be
detached f rom the ceiling unit and
used as a remote control. To remove
it f rom the ceiling unit, press the
release button. The control panel will
swing down partway. Pivot it down
f urther past the detent until it
detaches f rom the hinge. To reinstall
it, reverse the procedure.

Some state and local government
agencies prohibit the use of
headphones by the driver of a motor
vehicle. Always obey applicable laws
and regulations.The audio f or the rear entertainment
system is sent to the wireless
headphones that come with the
system. When using the headphones,
make sure you wear them correctly:
L (lef t) and R (right) are marked on
the sides of the frame. Wearing the
headphones backwards may affect
audio reception, limiting the sound
quality and range. To use the headphones, pivot the
earpieces outward. This turns them
on. To adjust the volume, turn the
dial on the bottom of the right
earpiece. When you remove the
headphones, the earpieces
automatically pivot inward, and the
headphones turn of f . When not in
use, store the headphones in the
pocket of either f ront seat.

In the dual screen mode, you can
switch the sound source of the
headphones between the lef t and
right side screens.If you connected a set of wired
headphones, you can switch the
sound source f rom the setup menu.
Slide the tab to ‘‘L’’ f or the lef t side,
‘‘R’’ f or the right side. When you press the SETUP button
while the overhead screen is in the
dual mode, the setup menu appears.
Turn the interf ace dial to select
‘‘Wired Headphones.’’ Press the
ENTER button. The screen changes to the wired
headphones setup menu. Select
‘‘Lef t’’ or ‘‘Right’’ and press the
ENTER button to switch the sound
source. The wired headphones
indicator appears on the selected
side screen.

Remove the battery. Install the new
battery in the earpiece as shown in
the diagram next to the battery slot.
Slide the cover back into place on the
earpiece, then press down on the
back edge to lock it in place.
Each headphone uses one AAA
battery. The battery is under the
cover on the lef t earpiece. To
remove the cover, insert a coin in the
slot and twist it slightly to pry the
cover away f rom the earpiece. Pull
the cover outward, and pivot it out of
the way.

The system will accept auxiliary
inputs f rom standard video games
and video equipment.
Some video game power supplies
may cause poor picture quality.

R = Right audio jackThere are two headphone
connectors f or the third row seat
passengers. Each connector has its
own volume control.
There is an HDMI input jack above
the third row seat armrest on the
passenger’s side. The system will
accept HDMI input f rom video
games and video equipment which
are equipped with an HDMI jack.
To use the HDMI input jack, open

The compass may need to be
manually calibrated af ter exposure to
a strong magnetic field. If the
compassseemstobecontinually
showing the wrong direction and is
not self -calibrating, or the compass
display is blinking with the CAL
indicator on, do the f ollowing
procedure.Do this procedure in an open
area, away f rom buildings, power
lines, and other vehicles.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position.
Press and hold the SETUP button
f or about 5 seconds. The display
shows you the compass setting
menu items.
When you turn the ignition switch to
the ON (II) position, the compass is
self-calibrating, then the compass
display is shown in the display. Compass operation can be af f ected
by driving near power lines or
stations, across bridges, through
tunnels, over railroad crossings, past
large vehicles, or driving near large
objects that can cause a magnetic
disturbance. It can also be af f ected
by accessories such as antennas and
roof racks that are mounted by
magnets.

Turn the selector knob to select
‘‘CALIBRATION.’’While setting the compass, press
the RETURN button to go back to
the previous display. Pressing the
SETUP button will cancel the
compass setting mode.When the calibration is successf ully
completed, the CAL indicator goes
of f and the compass display will stop
blinking and show an actual heading.
The audio system is not related to
the compass system. Even if the
compasssystemiscalibrating,the
display returns to the normal display
which you last selected.
Drive the vehicle slowly in two
complete circles.
Press the selector knob to enter
your selection. The display shows
you ‘‘PUSH CAL START’’ or ‘‘Start
Calibration.’’ Press the selector knob. The
compass display is blinking and
the CAL indicator is shown.

Once the correct zone is displayed,
press the selector knob. The
display then returns to normal.
Find the zone f or your area on the
map (see page ). If the correct
zone is not shown, turn the
selector knob to cycle the zone
lists up or down.
In most areas, there is a variation
between magnetic north and true
north. Zone selection is required so
the compass can compensate f or this
variation. To check and select the
zone, do this:
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position.
If necessary, press the RETURN
button to return to the previous
display. Pressing the SETUP
button will cancel the compass
setting mode.
Press and hold the SETUP button
f or about 5 seconds. The display
shows you the compass setting
menu items.
Turn the selector knob to select
‘‘ZONE’’ or ‘‘Zone Adjust.’’ Press
the selector knob to enter your
selection. The display shows you
the currently selected zone
number.
