ssed, the interval between wipes operates every five seconds inter- mittently.
Do not operate the washer continuouslyfor more than 15 seconds or when the fluid reservoir is empty; this could dam-age the system. Do not operate the wiper when the window is dry; this can result in scratch-ing as well as premature wiper blade wear. The rear window wiper and washer are turned on by depressing the button. Washer fluid is sprayed onto the glass
as long as the " " is depressed.
1. When the " " position is depre- ssed, the rear window wiper starts to operate continuously.
2. When the " " position is depr- essed, the rear window wiper startsto operate three times after the washer fluid sprays onto the rearwindow.
HEADLIGHT LEVELING DEVICE SYSTEM

To adjust the headlight beam level ac- cording to the number of the passen- gers and the loading weight in the lug- gage area, turn the beam leveling switch.The higher the number of the switch position, the lower the headlight beam level. Always keep the headlight beamat the proper leveling position, or head- lights may dazzle other road users. Listed below are the examples of rec-ommended switch settings. For loading conditions other than those listed be- low, adjust the switch position so thatthe beam level may be the nearest as the condition obtained according to the list. B340G01A-E

HEATED REAR WINDOWHAZARD WARNING SYSTEM
SB250A1-E (Not all models) To operate the heated rear window de- press the switch shown. The heated rear window will automatically turn off after 20 minutes or when the ignition isturned off. The system may be turned off manually by depressing the switch again. B370A01A-D
SB240A1-E The hazard warning system should be used whenever it becomes necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location. The hazard warning system is operatedby depressing the switch at which time all turn signal lights will flash simulta- neously and the turn signal warninglights located within the instrument clus- ter will flash simultaneously. The hazard warning system may beturned off by depressing the switch again.

B360A01Y-GAT Rear Fog Light Switch To turn on the rear fog lights, push the switch. They will come on when theheadlight switch is in the second posi- tion and the key is in the "ON" position. B360A01A-D
CAUTION:
The inside of the rear windscreen should never be cleaned with a hard or sharp implement since damage to the heating element may occur. Theglass should only be cleaned with a soft cloth or chamois leather with the use only of a mild detergent or pro-prietary glass cleaner where neces- sary. Only horizontal movement of the cloth should be made when clean-ing the glass and care should be exercised to ensure that the heating elements are not damaged by ringsor jewellery whilst the glass is being cleaned. NOTE: The ignition must be in the "ON" position for the heated rear window to operate.

CIGAR LIGHTER

Do not use electric accessories or equipment other than the Hyundaigenuine parts in the socket.

For the cigar lighter to work, the keymust be in the "ACC" or the "ON" position. To use the cigar lighter, push the lighterall the way into its socket. When the element is heated, the lighter will pop out into the "ready" position.Do not hold the cigar lighter at the depressed position which may result in damage to the vehicle wiring or anelectrical fire. If it is necessary to replace the cigarette lighter, use only a genuine Hyundaireplacement part.

There are three control buttons for thedigital clock. Their functions are: HOUR - Push "H" to advance the hour
indicated.
MIN - Push "M" to advance the
minute indicated.
RESET - Push "R" to reset minutes to
":00" to facilitate resetting the clock to the correct time. When this is done:
Pressing "R" between 10 : 30 and 11 :29 changes the readout to 11 : 00.Pressing "R" between 11 : 30 and 12 : 29 changes the readout to 12 : 00. HLC2104-D

B450A04A-EAT Front Drink Holder The front drink holder is located on the centre facia panel for holding cups orcans in its holes. The drink holder can be used by pushing it.
CAUTION:
Place the drink holder in its closed position when not in use.

The front ashtray may be opened by pulling it out by its grip. To remove the ashtray to empty or clean it, press downon the spring-loaded tab inside the ash- tray and pull it all the way out. The ashtray light will only illuminate whenthe external lights are on.

The rear ashtray may be opened by pulling it out by its top edge. To remove the ashtray to empty or clean it, pressdown on the spring-loaded tab inside the ashtray and lift the ashtray upward and pull it all the way out.

The two map lights are located at each side of the interior light.The lights may be operated by depress- ing the switch to turn on the light and pressing again to turn off the light. Thislight produces a spot beam for conve- nient use as a map light at night or as a personal light for the driver or the pas-senger. HLC2081

B460D01A-EAT To Install the Sunroof
1. Insert the flat hinges into the cut-
outs. Then supporting the sunroof with your hands, slowly lower it.
2. Make sure both of the flat hinges are
securely inserted into their cutouts.
3. Depress the handles of the base plate and insert into the holes. B460E01A-AAT Storing the Sunroof and the Sun- shade There is a storage bag in the trunk. Place the sunroof or sunshade into thestorage bag and store it in the trunk.
CAUTION:
o Be careful not to place heavy ob- jects on the bag, otherwise thesunshade or sunroof may be de- formed or broken.
o When storing the sunroof and sun- shade into the storage bag, put thesunshade on top of the sunroof.

WARNING:
o Never install or remove the sunroof whilst driving.
o Never put your hands between the sunroof and the car's body.
o Do not drive the vehicle without being certain that the sunroof is securely locked in place.

GLOVE BOX
!WARNING:
To avoid the possibility of injury, the glove box lid must be kept closed whilst the vehicle is in motion.
o To open the glove box, pull the glove box release lever.

B490A02A-GAT Interior Light The interior courtesy light has a switch of three positions. The three positions are:
o "DR" or "ˆ" In the "DR" or "ˆ" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any dooris opened regardless of the ignition key position. The light goes out when the door is closed. HLC2080

NOTE: If your vehicle is equipped with the delay-out interior light, the light goes out gradually within 6 seconds afterthe door is closed.
o "ON" In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times.
o "OFF" In the "OFF" position, the light stays off at all times even though a door is open.

In addition to the lower-mounted rear stoplights on either side of the car, the high mounted rear stoplight in the cen-tre of the rear window or inserted in the rear spoiler also lights when the brakes are applied. HLC2124
PARKING BRAKE
The parking brake must always be set when the vehicle is to be left unat- tended. When the parking brake is ap- plied, and the ignition key is at the "ON"position, the parking brake warning light will be illuminated. Before driving the vehicle, the parking brake must be fullyreleased and the warning light extin- guished.
o To set the parking brake, apply the foot brake and pull the parking brake lever up.
o To release the parking brake, apply the foot brake and pull up the parkingbrake lever slightly. Depress thebutton and lower the lever.

SB370A1-E INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR The interior mirror is of the day/night type to enable the glare of headlightsfrom following vehicles to be eliminated during night time driving. The tab located at the bottom of themirror should be set to the position nearest the windscreen for normal day time driving, and flipped towards therear of the vehicle to eliminate glare during night time driving. To adjust the field of vision, the mirror may be movedby hand upon the mounting. NOTE: The mirror should always be ad- justed prior to setting the vehicle inmotion. HLC3024-D

REMOTE FUEL FILLER FLAP RELEASE
!WARNING:
Fuel vapours are dangerous. Before refuelling, turn off the engine and never allow sparks, lit cigarettes or open flames near the filler area. Whenreleasing the filler cap, a small amount of residual pressure may generate a slight hissing sound which
is not indicative of an abnormality. In the event of the fuel filler cap requir- ing replacement, only a GenuineHyundai replacement part should be used to prevent fuel leakage.

The fuel filler flap may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel filler flap release. NOTE: If the fuel filler flap will not open because ice has formed around it, tap lightly or push on it to break the ice and release it. Do not lever theflap. If necessary, spray around the flap with an approved deicer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) ormove the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt. HLC2016

B740B02A-EAT Air Conditioning Operation (Cooling)
B740C01A-AAT De-Humidified Heating
To use the air conditioning to cool the interior:
o Turn on the fan control switch (3).
o Turn on the air conditioning switch(4) by pushing in on the switch.The air conditioning indicator lightshould come on at the same time.
o Set the air intake control to the
position (5).
o Set the temperature control (1) to "Cool". ("Cool" provides maximumcooling. The temperature may bemoderated by moving the control toward "Warm".) o Adjust the fan control (3) to the de-
sired speed. For greater cooling, turn the fan control to one of the higher speeds or temporarily select the position on the air intake con-
trol. For dehumidified heating:
o Turn on the fan control switch (3).
o Turn on the air conditioning switch
(4). The air conditioning indicatorlight should come on at the sametime.
o Set the air intake control (5) to the
fresh air ( ) position.
o Set the air flow control (2) to the face ( ) position.
o Adjust the fan control (3) to the de- sired speed.
o For more rapid action, set the fan at
one of the higher speeds.
o Adjust the temperature control (1) to provide the desired amount ofwarmth.
