B265A01MC-GAT Fuel Filter Warning Light (Diesel Engine)
This warning light illuminates for 6 sec- onds after the ignition switch is set tothe "ON" position or after the engine is started, it will go out. If it lights up while the engine is running, it indicates thatwater has accumulated inside the fuel filter. If this happens, remove the water from the fuel filter. (Refer to "6-25 page")

Diesel Preheat Indicator Light
The indicator light illuminates amber when the ignition switch is placed at the"ON" position. The engine can be started after the preheat indicator light goes off. The illuminating time varies with thewater temperature, air temperature and battery condition. NOTE: If the engine were not started within 10 seconds after the preheating is completed, turn the ignition key once more to the "LOCK" position, andthen to the "ON" position, in order to preheat again.
! CAUTION:
If the preheat indicator light contin- ues to illuminate or flash on and off after the engine has warmed up orwhile driving, check the system by an authorized Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.
! CAUTION:
When the fuel filter warning light is illuminated, engine power (vehicle speed & idle speed) may decrease. If you keep driving with the warninglight on, you can damage your vehicle's engine parts and injection system of the Common Rail. If thisoccurs, have your vehicle checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. B900A01A-GAT ACOUSTIC WARNING SOUND (If Installed) The acoustic warning chime sounds when the tail lights are on and the doorin driver side is open. This prevents the battery from discharging when the car is left with the tail lights on. The chimesounds until the tail lights are turned off.
SB210U1-G OVER SPEED WARNING BUZZER (If Installed) When the car speed is in excess of 120 km/h (75 mph), a buzzer will sound towarn you.

indicated. MIN - Push "M" to advance the minute

":00" to facilitate resetting the clock to the correct time. When this is done: Pressing "R" between 10 : 30 and 11 : 29 changes the readout to 11 : 00. Pressing "R" between 11 : 30 and 12 :29 changes the readout to 12 : 00.CIGARETTE LIGHTER

For the cigarette lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" position or the "ON" position. To use the cigarette lighter, push it allthe way into its socket. When the ele- ment has heated, the lighter will pop out to the "ready" position.Do not hold the cigarette lighter pressed in. Auto slide open To use the auto slide feature, press the SLIDE OPEN button on the overheadconsole for more than 1 second. The sunroof will slide all the way open. To stop the sunroof sliding at any point,press any sunroof control button. Manual slide open Press the SLIDE OPEN button on the overhead console for less than 0.5 second. Manual slide close To close the sunroof, press the TILT UP button on the overhead console andhold it until the sunroof is closed.
WARNING:
Be careful that someone’s head, hands and body are not trapped by a closing sunroof.

B460D01NF-GAT Manual Operation of Sunroof If the sunroof does not electrically oper- ate:
1. Open the spectacle case.
2. Remove the two mounting screws of
the front overhead console with a (+)driver. OMC025022
3. Insert the hexagonal head wrench
provided with the vehicle into the socket. This wrench can be found in the vehicle's trunk or glove box.
4. Turn the wrench clockwise to open or counterclockwise to close thesunroof. OMC025023B460E01TG-GAT Resetting the sunroof Whenever the vehicle battery is discon- nected or discharged, or you use theemergency handle to operate the sunroof, you have to reset your sunroof system as follows:
1. Turn the ignition key to the "ON"
position.
2. Press the TILT UP button for more than 1 second to tilt up the sunroof completely when the sunroof is fullyclosed. Then, release the button.
3. Press and hold the TILT UP button
once again until the sunroof hasreturned to the original position of TILT UP after it is raised a little higher than the maximum TILT UPposition. Then, release the button.
4. Press and hold the TILT UP button
within 5 seconds until the sunroof isoperated as follows; TILT DOWN SLIDE OPEN
SLIDE CLOSEThen, release the button.

The interior courtesy light switch has three positions. The three positions are: o "DOOR"In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when anydoor is opened regardless of the ignition key position. The light goes out gradually after 30 seconds if thedoor is closed. However if the igni- tion switch is ON or all doors are locked, interior light will turn off evenwithin 30 seconds.

B480A01MC-GAT Map Light (If Installed) The two map light switches are located on both sides of the front overheadconsole. Push in the map light switch to turn the light on or off. This light pro- duces a spot beam for convenient useas a map light at night or as a personal light for the driver and the passenger. o "DOOR" In the "DOOR" position, the map light comes on when any door is opened regardless of the ignition key position. The light goes out graduallyafter 30 seconds if the door is closed. However if the ignition switch is ON or all doors are locked, map light willturn off even within 30 seconds.

SPECTACLE CASE
B491A03O-GAT (If Installed) The spectacle case is located on the front overhead console. Push the end of the cover to open thespectacle case. WARNING:
o Do not keep objects such as sharp or unsuitable things inside thespectacle case. Such objects canbe thrown out in the event of a sudden stop or an accident, pos- sibly injuring the passengers inthe vehicle.
o Do not open the spectacle case
while the vehicle is moving. Therear view mirror of the vehicle can be blocked by an open spectacle case.

2. Pull the secondary latch lever up and lift the hood. 3. Pull the support rod from the hood.

4. Hold the hood open with the support rod.

Make sure that the support rod has been released prior to closing thehood.

Before closing the hood, return the support rod to its clip to prevent it fromrattling. Lower the hood until it is about 1 ft. (30 cm) above the closed position and let it drop. Make sure that it locksinto place.

To open the trunk lid without using the key, pull up the lid release lever. To close, lower the trunk lid, then press down on it until it locks. To be sure thetrunk lid is securely fastened, check by trying to pull it up again.

TRUNK LID/TAIL GATE

WARNING:
The trunk lid or the tail gate should always be kept completely closedwhile the vehicle is in motion. If it is left open or ajar, poisonous exhaust gases may enter the car resulting inserious illiness or death to the occu- pants. See additional warnings con- cerning exhaust gases on page 2-2. Trunk Lid (4 Door)
o The trunk lid is opened by first turn-
ing the key clockwise to release the lock, then raising the door manually.
o To close, lower the trunk lid, then
press down on it until it locks. To besure the trunk lid is securely fas- tened, try to pull it up again.
Tail Gate (3 Door) To open the tail gate, unlock it by turning the key clockwise, then pull theoutside handle toward you. To close, lower the tail gate and shut firmly to engage the latch. Lock the tailgate by turning the key counterclock- wise. If the vehicle is equipped with centraldoor locking, the tail gate can be locked without a key. Push the front portion of the central door locking switch afterclosing the tail gate. If the tail gate is open when the front portion of the central door locking switchis pushed, the tail gate will be locked when it is fully closed.

o To keep dust or unpleasant fumes from entering the car through the ventilation system, temporarily set the air intake control at the (

irritation has passed to keep fresh air in the vehicle. This will help keep thedriver alert and comfortable.
o Air for the heating/cooling system is
drawn in through the grilles justahead of the windshield. Care should be taken that these are not blocked by leaves, snow, ice or other ob-structions.
o To prevent interior fog on the wind-
shield, set the air intake control tothe fresh air (
) position, fan
speed to the desired position, turn on the air conditioning system, and ad-just temperature control to desired temperature.
NOTE: When the A/C is operated continu- ously on the floor-defrost level ( ) or defrost level ( ), it may causefog to form on the exterior wind- shield. If this occurs, set the air flow control to the face level posi-tion ( ) and fan speed control to the low position.
