HLC2026-D
The front seat rake adjustment is per- formed by raising the lever at the front of the seat base and sliding the seat tothe desired position. At this position the lever should be released and the seat rocked to and fro to ensure that themechanism has locked. SB070C1-E Seat Recline Adjustment The front seat back recline angle may be adjusted by leaning forward slightlyand raising the recline adjustment lever at the side of the seat. When the seatback is at the desired angle, thelever should be released. Ensure that the seatback is locked before driving the vehicle.
HLC2027-D
WARNING:
To ensure the seat is locked se-curely, attempt to move the seat for- ward or rearward without using the lever.
!WARNING:
To minimize risk of severe injury in the event of a collision or a sudden stop, both the driver and passenger seatbacks should always be in anupright position while the vehicle is in motion. The protection provided by the seat belts and airbags in afrontal collision may be reduced sig- nificantly when the seatbacks are reclined. There is greater risk thatthe driver and passenger will slide under the seat belt which may result in serious injury if a crash occurswhen the seatbacks are reclined. The seat belt cannot provide full protec- tion to an occupant if the seatback isreclined.

o Although it is harmless, the fine
dust may cause skin irritation and should not be breathed for pro- longed periods. Wash your hands and face thoroughly after an acci-dent in which the pre-tensioner seat belts were activated.
CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected with the pre-tensioner seat belt, the SRSairbag warning light on the instrument panel will blink for approximately 6 seconds after theignition key has been turned to the "ON" position, and then it should turn off.
o If the pre-tensioner seat belt is not working properly, this warninglight will illuminate even if there is no malfunction of the SRS airbag system. If the SRS airbag warning light does not illuminate when the igni- tion key is turned to "ON", or if itremains illuminated after blinking for approximately 6 seconds, or if
!
it illuminates whilst the vehicle is being driven, please have an au-thorized Hyundai dealer inspect the pre-tensioner seat belt or SRS airbag system as soon as pos-sible.
WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to op- erate only one time. After activa-tion, pre-tensioner seat belts mustbe replaced. All seat belts, of any type, should always be replaced after they have been worn during acollision.
o The pre-tensioner seat belt assem- bly mechanisms become hot dur- ing activation. Do not touch the pre-tensioner seat belt assembliesfor several minutes after they have been activated.
o Do not attempt to inspect or re- place the pre-tensioner seat belts yourself. This must be done by anauthorized Hyundai dealer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies.
!WARNING:
To obtain maximum benefit from a pre-tensioner seat belt:
1. The seat belt must be worn cor- rectly.
2. The seat belt must be adjusted to
the correct position.
NOTE:
o Both the driver's and front passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts will be activated in certain frontal collisions. The pre- tensioner seat belts can be acti- vated with the airbags. The pre-tensioners will be activated under these conditions even if the seat belts are not being worn at thetime of the collision.
o When the pre-tensioner seat belts are activated, a loud noise may be heard and fine dust, which may appear to be smoke, may be vis-ible in the passenger compart- ment. These are normal operating conditions and are not hazard-ous.

!
B260B01S-GAT
SRS (Airbag) Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)
The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) comes on and flashes for about 6seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, after which it will go out. This light also comes on when the SRS is not working properly. If the SRI doesnot come on, or continuously remains on after flashing for about 6 seconds when you turned the ignition key to the"ON" position or started the engine, or if it comes on whilst driving, have the SRS inspected by an authorized HyundaiDealer. B260P02Y-EAT
ABS Service
Reminder Indicator (SRI)(Not all models)
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System SRI will come on and then go off in a fewseconds. If the ABS SRI remains on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the key is turned to the"ON" position, this indicates that there may be a problem with the ABS. If this occurs, have your vehiclechecked by your Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. The normal braking system will still be operational, butwithout the assistance of the anti-lock brake system. SB210E1-E
Overdrive OFF Indicator Light(Automatic Transaxle only)
When the overdrive (4th gear) switch is turned off and the operation of overdrive (4th gear) is cancelled, the overdrivewarning light (O/D OFF) will be illumi- nated. When the switch is at the on position, the gearbox will operate in thenormal fully automatic mode and the warning light will be extinguished. SB210G1-E Turn Signal Indicator Light
Operation of a turn signal is indicated by the warning light located in the in- strument cluster. If the light fails toilluminate or does not flash, a malfunc- tion within the turn signal system is indicated.
WARNING:
If the both ABS SRI and Parking Brake/ Brake fluid level warning lights re- main "ON" or come on while driving, there may be a problem with E.B.D(Electronic brake force distribution). If this occurs, avoid sudden stops and have your vehicle checked byyour Hyundai dealer as soon as pos- sible.

!CAUTION:
If the oil pressure warning light illu- minates when the engine is running,an insufficient oil pressure level for continued safe operation of the en- gine exists. Continued operation ofthe engine in this condition may result in serious engine damage. Under normal circumstances, the light will illuminate when the igni- tion is turned "on" and will be extin-guished when the engine is started. If the oil pressure warning light illu- minates whilst the engine is run-ning, stop the engine immediately and check the engine oil level. If the level is insufficient, add the required amount of oil as indicated by theengine oil dipstick. If the light fails to extinguish when the engine is re- started, do not continue to operatethe vehicle. If the oil pressure light illuminates during normal operation and thecause is not an insufficient oil level, or the light fails to illuminate when the ignition is turned "on", contactthe nearest Hyundai dealer before further operating the vehicle.
Warning Light Operation The parking brake/brake fluid level warn- ing light will be illuminated wheneverthe ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position irrespective of whether or not the parking brake is applied and mustbe extinguished when the engine starts and the parking brake released. If the warning light fails to extinguish orilluminates at any other time, the ve- hicle must be brought to rest in a safe location and the level of brake fluid inthe reservoir checked. If the fluid level is incorrect, fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specifications should be added. If, after correcting the brake fluid level, the warning light continues to be illumi- nated, the advice of the nearest Hyundaidealer must be sought before the ve- hicle is driven again. Your Hyundai is equipped with a diago-nally split dual braking system which will ensure that in the event of one of the brake circuits becoming defective, ap-proximately fifty per cent of the normal braking performance will be available. If failure of one of the circuits occurs, the required amount of pedal effort, pedal travel and stopping distance will be increased. Use of the gearbox is
WARNING:
In the event of problems being sus-pected with the braking system, theadvice of the nearest Hyundai dealer must be sought before the vehicle is driven. Driving the vehicle with ei-ther an electrical or hydraulic brak- ing system defect may be danger- ous, resulting in accident or per-sonal injury.
