o Determine that acceptable fuel is
available. B020A01S-GAT During the First 2,000 Km (1,200 Miles) No formal "break-in" procedure is re- quired with your new Hyundai. How- ever, you can contribute to the eco-nomical operation and durability of your Hyundai by observing the following recommendations during the first 2,000km (1,200 miles).
o Don't drive faster than 88 km/h (55
mph).
o While driving, keep your engine
speed (rpm, or revolutions per minute) between 2,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm.
o Use moderate acceleration. Don't start, depress the accelerator pedalfully.
o For the first 300 km (200 miles), try to avoid hard stops.
o Don't lug the engine (in other words,
don't drive so slowly. In too high a gear that the engine "bucks" shift to a lower gear). o Whether going fast or slow, vary
your speed from time to time.
o Don't let the engine idle longer than 3 minutes at one time.
o Don't tow a trailer during the first 2,000 km (1,200 miles) of opera-tion.

less than 50 km, the symbol will always come on and the distanceto empty digits will indicate "--- " with flash until more fuel is added.

o This mode indicates the average
speed travelled since the last aver- age speed reset.
o To reset the average speed to zero, press and hold the reset switch formore than 1 second while the aver- age speed is being displayed. 3. DRIVE TIME
o This mode indicates the drive time
travelled since the last drive time reset.
o To reset the drive time to zero, press and hold the reset switch formore than 1 second while the drivetime is being displayed.

SEEK (UP / ) Switch Press the SEEK UP ( ) switch 1 sec. or more.
1. RADIO mode When the SEEK UP ( ) switch is pressed, the unit will automatically tune to the next higher frequency.
2. TAPE mode Pressing the SEEK UP ( ) switch will play the beginning of the next music segment.
3. CD (compact disc)/CDC(compact disc changer) mode
Press the SEEK UP ( ) switch once to skip forward to the beginning of the next track.
VOL ( / ) Switch
o Press the VOL ( ) button to in- crease volume.
o Press the VOL ( ) button to de- cease volume.AUDIO REMOTE CONTROL SWITCH
o With the cruise control engaged,
when the brake pedal is applied, it is normal to hear the cruise control system deactivate. This is an indication of normal systemoperation.
o During normal cruise control
operation, when the"SET(COAST)" is activated or reactivated after applying the brakes, the cruise control willenergize after approximately 3 seconds. This delay is normal. POWER ON/OFF Switch Press the POWER ON/OFF switch to select Radio, Tape, CD (compact disc) and CDC (compact disc changer). B670C02FC-GAT Air Intake Control This is used to select fresh outside air or recirculating inside air. To change the air intake control mode,(Fresh mode, Recirculation mode) push the control button. FRESH MODE ( ) : The indicator light on the button goes off when the air intake control is fresh mode. RECIRCULATION MODE ( ): The indicator light on the button is illumi-nated when the air intake control is recirculation mode. With the "Fresh" mode selected, air enters the vehicle from the outside andis heated or cooled according to the function selected. With the "Recirculation" mode selected, air from within the passenger compart- ment will be drawn through the heatingsystem and heated or cooled according to the function selected. NOTE: It should be noted that prolonged operation of the heating in "Recircu- lation" mode will give rise to fogging of the windshield and side windowsand the air within the passenger com- partment will become stale. In addi- tion, prolonged use of the air condi-tioning with the "Recirculation" mode selected may result in the air within the passenger compartmentbecoming excessively dry.
B670D01GK-AAT Air Flow Control This is used to direct the flow of air. Air can be directed to the floor, dashboard outlets, or windshield. Five symbolsare used to represent Face, Bi-Level, Floor, Floor-Defrost and Defrost air po- sition.

B980B01Y-AAT Fan Speed Control Switch The fan speed can be set to the desired speed by pressing the appropriate fan speed control button. The higher the fanspeed is, the more air is delivered. Pressing the "OFF" button turns off the fan. B670C02GK-AAT Air Intake Control Switch (Without A.Q.S) This is used to select fresh outside air or recirculation inside air. 1. POWER ON-OFF Control Knob
The radio unit may be operated when the ignition key is in the "ACC" or "ON"position. Press the knob to switch the power on. The LCD shows the radio frequency in the radio mode or the tapedirection indicator in the tape mode. To switch the power off, press the knob again. VOLUME Control Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the volume and turn the knob counter-clockwise to reduce the volume. 2. BASS Control Knob Press to pop the knob out and turn to the left or right for the desired bass tone. BAL (Balance Control) Knob Pull the bass control knob further out. Turn the control knob clockwise toemphasize right speaker sound (left speaker sound will be attenuated). When the control knob is turned coun- terclockwise, left speaker sound will beemphasized (right speaker sound will be attenuated). 3. TREB (Treble Control) Knob Press to pop the knob out and turn to the left or right for the desired treble tone. FAD (Fader Control) Knob Pull the treble control knob further out. Turn the control knob counterclockwise to emphasize front speaker sound (rear speaker sound will be attenuated).When the control knob is turned clock- wise, rear speaker sound will be em- phasized (front speaker sound will beattenuated). 4. TUNE (Manual) Select Button Press the side or side to increase or to decrease the frequency. Press either button and hold down to continu- ously scroll. Release button once thedesired station is reached.
SEEK Operation (Automatic Channel Selection) Press the TUNE select button 1 sec or more.Releasing it will automatically tuneto the next available station with a beep sound. When the side is pressed longer than1 second, releasing will automatically tune to the next higher frequency and when the side is pressed longer than1 second, releasing will automatically tune to the next lower frequency. 5. BAND Selector Pressing the button changes the AM, FM1 and FM2 bands. The mode selected is displayed on LCD.

4. SCAN Button When the scan button is pressed, the frequency will increase and the receiv-able stations will be tuned in one after another, receiving each station for 5 seconds. To stop scanning, press thescan button again. 5. TUNE (Manual) Select Button Press the ( ) side or ( ) side to increase or to decrease the frequency.Press either button and hold down to continuously scroll. o Select the desired station to be stored by seek, scan or manual tuning.
o Determine the preset station select
button you wish to use to access that station.
o Press the station select button for
more than two seconds. A selectbutton indicator will show in the dis- play indicating which select buttonyou have depressed. The frequency display will flash after it has been stored into the memory. You shouldthen release the button, and proceed to program the next desired station. A total of 18 stations can be pro-grammed by selecting one AM and two FM station per button.
o When completed, any preset station may be recalled by selecting AM,FM1 or FM2 band and the appropri- ate station button.

4. PRESET STATION Select

Six (6) stations for AM, FM and FM2 respectively can be preset in the elec- tronic memory circuit. HOW TO PRESET STATIONS Six AM and twelve FM stations may be programmed into the memory of the radio. Then, by simply pressing the AM/ FM select button and/or one of the six station select buttons, you may recall any of these stations instantly. To pro-gram the stations, follow these steps:

5. Best Station Memory Button
(BSM)
When the BSM button is pressed for two seconds or longer, the six channelsfrom the highest field intensity are se- lected next and stored in memory. The stations selected are stored in the se-quence frequency from the first preset key.
6. EQ Button Press the EQ button to select the CLAS- SIC, JAZZ, ROCK and DEFEAT MODE for the desired tone quality. Each pressof the button changes the display as follows; 7. TUNE (Manual) Select Knob Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the frequency and turn the knob coun-terclockwise to reduce the frequency.
Mode Select Knob Pressing the MODE button changes the BASS, MIDDLE, TREBLE, FADER and BALANCE mode. The mode selected is shown on thedisplay. After selecting the each mode, rotate the mode select knob clockwise orcounterclockwise. BASS Control To increase the BASS, rotate the knob clockwise, while to decrease the BASS, rotate the knob counterclockwise. MID Control To increase the MID, rotate the knob clockwise, while to decrease the MID, rotate the knob counterclockwise. TREBLE Control To increase the TREBLE, rotate the knob clockwise, while to decrease theTREBLE, rotate the knob counterclock- wise. FAD (Fader Control) Rotate the control knob clockwise to emphasize rear speaker sound (frontspeaker sound will be attenuated). When the control knob is turned counterclock- wise, front speaker sound will be em-phasized (rear speaker sound will be attenuated). BALANCE Control Rotate the knob clockwise to empha- size right speaker sound (left speaker sound will be attenuated). When the control knob is turned counterclock-wise, left speaker sound will be empha- sized (right speaker sound will be at- tenuated).
