The front seat rake adjustment is per- formed by raising the lever at the frontof the seat base and sliding the seat to the desired position. At this position the lever should be released and the seatrocked to and fro to ensure that the mechanism has locked.
WARNING:
Front seat adjustments must not be undertaken whilst the vehicle is inmotion. Loss of control of the ve- hicle may result if seat adjustments are made whilst the vehicle is inmotion. WARNING:
1) Be careful that someone's head, hands and body are not trappedby a closing window.
2) Never try to operate the main switch on the driver's door andthe individual door window switchin opposing directions at the same time. If this is done, the window will stop and cannot be opened orclosed.
3) Always remove the ignition key
prior to exiting the car.
4) Do not leave children alone in the car.

!WARNING:
To ensure the seat is locked se- curely, attempt to move the seat for- ward or rearward without using thelever.
In order to prevent operation of the passenger front and rear windows, a window lock switch is provided on thearmrest of the driver's door. To disable the power windows, press the window lock switch.To revert to normal operation, press the window lock switch a second time. Auto-Down Window (Driver's Side) The Auto-Down window is moved to its fully open position by pushing the switch. To stop at the desired positionpush the switch again. HTB066-D

The front seat back recline angle may be adjusted by leaning forward slightly and raising the recline adjustment leverat the side of the seat. When the seatback is at the desired angle, the lever should be released. Ensure thatthe seatback is locked before driving the vehicle.
!WARNING:
To minimize risk of severe injury in the event of a collision or a sudden stop, both the driver and passenger seatbacks should always be in anupright position while the vehicle is in motion. The protection provided by the seat belts and airbags in afrontal collision may be reduced sig- nificantly when the seatbacks are reclined. There is greater risk thatthe driver and passenger will slide under the seat belt which may result in serious injury if a crash occurswhen the seatbacks are reclined. The seat belt cannot provide full protec- tion to an occupant if the seatback isreclined.

To lower it, push it down whilst pressing the lock knob. To remove the headrestraint, raise it as far as it can go then press the lock knob whilst pulling up- ward. HFC2028

o For maximum effectiveness in case of an accident the head restraint should be adjusted so the middleof the head restraint is at the same height as the top of the occupant's eyes. For this reason, the use of acushion that holds the body away from the seatback should not be recommended.
o Do not operate vehicle with the
head restraints removed as injury to the occupants may occur in the event of an accident. Head re- straints may provide protectionagainst neck injuries when prop- erly adjusted.
o Do not adjust the head restraint height whilst the vehicle is inmotion.B083D01NF-EAT Active Head Restraints (If Installed) The active headrest is designed to move forward and upward during a rear impact. This helps to prevent the driver'sand front passenger's head from mov- ing backward and thus helps prevent neck injuries. HNF2041-1

ZB070A1-E REAR SEAT ENTRY (For 3-door model)
The front passenger seatback should be tilted to enter the rear seat. By pulling up on the recliner controllever (1) at the outside of the front passenger seat, the seatback will tilt forward and the seat will automaticallyslide forward. Passengers sitting in the rear seat should be careful not to accidentallypress the foot lever (2) whilst the vehicle is moving. As this may cause the seat back to move forward andinjure a front seat occupant.

and no seat belts are available for use when the seatback is folded down. Passengers who are notproperly seated and wearing seat belts could sustain serious inju- ries or death in case of an accidentor a sudden stop.
o Objects should not extend higher
than the top of the front seatbacks.This could allow cargo to slide forward and cause injury or dam- age during sudden stops.
o When you return the folded down seatback to its upright position,always be sure to install the head- rests in their proper positions. Head restraints are important tothe safety of occupants in a rear collision. If the headrests are not installed in their proper position,serious injury or death could re- sult if a rear end collision occurs.
3. Pull the seat cushion release handle
rear ward, then lift up a desired seatcushion.
!WARNING:
o When you return the folded down seatback to its upright position, make sure the seat belts are in position to be accessible and to function properly.
o When you return the folded down seatback to its upright position,be careful not to get your fingersor legs caught in the mechanism.
o The purpose of the fold down
rear seatback and the fold for-ward rear seat cushion is to in- crease cargo space. Do not allow passengers to sit in the cargoarea while the car is moving. This is not a proper seating position
4. To secure the seat, hook the secur-
ing strap under the seat back to the headrest stay of front driver andpassenger seat.
5. To return the seatback and seat
cushion to its normal position, re-verse the above procedure.
o When you return the seatback to its
upright position, always be sure it islocked into position by pulling and pushing on the top of seatback.

B100A01TB-EAT SEAT WARMER (Not all models) The seat warmer is provided to warm the front seats during cold weather. With the ignition key in the "ON" posi-tion, push either of the switches to warm the driver's seat or the passenger's seat.During mild weather or under conditions where the operation of the seat warmer is not needed, keep the switches in the"OFF" position. NOTE:
o The seat warmer will not operate if
ambient temperature is higher than 98.6°F (37°C).
o If the seat warmer doesn't work when ambient temperature islower than 82.4°F(28°C), it must bechecked at authoriseddealer.

!WARNING:
Sitting in a reclined position or lying down when your vehicle is in motion can be dangerous. Even if you buckleup, your seat belts can't do their job when you're reclined. The shoulder belt can't do its jobbecause it won't be against your body. Instead, it will be in front of you. In a crash you could go into itwith great force, receiving serious neck or other injuries. The lap belt can't do its job either. Ina crash the belt could go up over your abdomen. The belt forces would be applied there, not at your strongpelvic bones. This could cause seri- ous internal injuries. For proper protection when the ve-hicle is in motion, have the seatback upright. Then sit back in the seat and wear your seat belt properly. Seepage 1-22.

SB090K1-E Replacement of Seat Belts The entire seat belt assembly or as- semblies should be inspected by anauthorized repairer if the vehicle has been involved in an accident even if no damage is evident. SB090H1-E CARE OF SEAT BELTS Seat belt assemblies must never be disassembled or modified in any way.In addition, care should be exercised to ensure that the belt assemblies do not become damaged by being trapped inseat mechanisms, door shuts etc. SB090I-E Periodic Inspection It is recommended that all seat belts be inspected periodically for wear or dam-age of any kind. Parts of the system that are damaged should be replaced as soon as possible. Under no circum-stances must any part of the seat belt assemblies be dismantled or repairered. SB090J1-E Keep Belts Clean and Dry Seat belts should be kept clean and dry. If belts become dirty, they can be cleaned using a mild soap solution and warm water. Bleach, dye, strong deter-gents or abrasives should not be used since the fabric may become damaged and weakened.

The buckle should be firmly pressed into the stalk until locked which will be indicated by an audible "click".The length of the seat belt webbing will be automatically adjusted by the seat belt mechanism to allow the wearermaximum freedom of movement whilst the belt is being worn. However, in the event of rapid deceleration or impact,the belt mechanism will automatically lock. The mechanism will also lock if the seatbelt webbing is withdrawn too quickly when the belt is being fastened or if attempts are made to withdraw thewebbing whilst the vehicle is not on level ground. Should the seat belt lock under these conditions, it will be pos-sible to release the mechanism by al- lowing a small amount of webbing to be retracted and the belt withdrawn again.

The seat belts are fastened by pulling the belt buckle towards the seat belt stalk and inserting the metal tongue of the buckle into the stalk. NOTE: When pulling the seat belt buckle towards the fastening position makesure the webbing is not twisted.

You can adjust the height of the shoul- der belt anchor to one of the 4 positions. If the height of the adjusting seat belt istoo near your neck, you will not be getting the most effective protection. The shoulder portion should be ad-justed so that it lies across your chest and midway over your shoulder nearest the door and not your neck.To adjust the height of the seat belt anchor, lower or raise the height ad- juster into an appropriate position. Toraise the height adjuster, pull it up. To lower it, push it down while pressing the height adjuster button.Release the button to lock the anchor into position. Try sliding the release button to make sure that it has lockedinto the position.
WARNING:
o The height adjuster must be in the locked position when the vehicle is moving.
o The misadjustment of height of the shoulder belt could reduce theeffectiveness of the seat belt in a crash.

You should place the belt as low as possible on your hips, not on your waist. If the belt is located too high onyour body, you could slide under it in case of accident or a sudden stop. This could result of death, seriousinjury or property damage. Both arms should not be under or over the belt. Rather, one should be over and theother under, as shown in the illustration. Never wear the seat belt under the arm nearest the door.
*1) When the ignition key is turned from
"OFF" position to "ON" within 1 minute.
*2) If the vehicle speed exceeds 9km/ h, the seat belt chime also soundsfor approimately 1~2 minutes. If the vehicle speed is below 9km/h,1 minute later the seat belt chime also sounds for approimately 1~2 minutes.
NOTE: If the driver's seat belt is operated in this order "unbuckled

o When using the rear seat centre belt, you must lock all metal tabs and buckles. If any metal tab or buckle is not locked, it will in-crease the chance of injury in the event of collision.
o Never unlock the metal tab (a) and
the buckle (b) with the followingexceptions.(1)In case of folding rear seatbacks down.
(2)If transporting an object on the
rear seat may cause damage to the rear seat centre belt.
o Lock the metal tab (a) and the
buckle (b) immediately after fold-ing rear seatbacks up.

1. Before fastening the rear seat centre belt, confirm the metal tab (a) and buckle (b) are latched together.
2. After confirming that (a) and (b) are latched, pull the seat belt out of theretractor and insert the metal tab (c) into the buckle (d). B220D01TB
There will be an audible "click" when thetab locks in the buckle. The seat belt automatically adjusts to the proper length only after the lap belt is adjusted manu-ally so that it fits snugly around your hips. If you lean forward in a slow, easy motion, the belt will extend and let youmove around. If there is a sudden stop or impact, the belt will lock into position. It will also lock if you try to lean forwardtoo quickly.
