WARNING:
Batteries can be dangerous! When
working with batteries, carefully observe the following precautionsto avoid serious injuries. o If battery fluid is on your skin, flush
the affected areas with water for atleast 15 minutes and then seek medical assistance.
o If battery fluid is in your eyes, rinse out your eyes with water and getmedical assistance as soon as possible. While you are being drivento get medical assistance, continue to rinse your eyes by using a sponge or soft cloth saturated withwater.
o If you swallow battery fluid, drink a large quantity of water or milk fol- lowed by milk of magnesia, eat a raw egg or drink vegetable oil. Getmedical assistance as soon as possible.
While batteries are being charged (either by a battery charger or by thevehicle's alternator), they produce explosive gases. Always observe these warnings to prevent injuries fromoccurring:
o Charge batteries only in a well ven- tilated area.
o Do not permit flames, sparks or smoking in the area.
o Keep children away from the area.
The fluid in the battery contains a
strong solution of sulfuric acid, whichis poisonous and highly corrosive. Becareful not to spill it on yourself or the car. If you do spill battery fluid on yourself, immediately do the follow-ing: HHP5020
NOTE:
o If the power connector is pulled up from the fuse panel, the warn-ing chime, audio, clock and inte- rior lamps, etc., will not operate. The following items must be re-set after replacement.- Digital Clock - Trip computer

o Even though the power connec- tor is pulled up, the battery can still be discharged by operation of the headlights or other electri-cal devices.

Checking the Battery
Keep the battery clean. Any evidence
of corrosion around the battery posts or terminals should be removed using a solution of household baking sodaand warm water. After the battery terminals are dry, cover them with a light coating of grease.
WARNING:Always read the followinginstructions carefullywhen handling a battery.Keep lighted cigarettesand all other flames orsparks away from the bat- tery. Hydrogen, which is a highly combustible gas, is always present in batterycells and may explode if ignited.Keep batteries out of the reach of children because batteries contain highly corrosive SULFURIC ACID.Do not allow battery acid to contact your skin, eyes, clothing or paint finish.If any electrolyte gets intoyour eyes, flush your eyeswith clean water for at least 15 minutes and get imme- diate medical attention. Ifpossible, continue to ap- ply water with a sponge or cloth until medical atten-tion is received.If electrolyte gets on yourskin, thoroughly wash thecontacted area.If you feel a pain or a burn-ing sensation, get medi- cal attention immediately. Wear eye protection when charging or working near a battery. Always provide ventilation when working in an en- closed space.o When lifting a plastic-cased bat- tery, excessive pressure on the case may cause battery acid toleak, resulting in personal in- jury. Lift with a battery carrier or with your hands on oppositecorners.
o Never attempt to charge the bat- tery when the battery cables are connected.
o The electrical ignition system works with high voltage. Never touch these componentswith the engine running or the ignition switched on.

NOTE: If any door,
tailgate door or engine
bonnet is not opened within 30 sec- onds, the system will be rearmedand all doors re-locked.
CAUTION:
Only the transmitter can disarm thearmed stage. If the transmitter doesnot disarm the system, it is neces- sary to take the following steps;
1. Unlock the door with the key, which will cause, the alarm to be acti- vated.
2. Insert the key in the ignition key cylinder and turn the ignition keyto "ON" position.
3. Wait for 30 seconds. After completion of the steps above, the system will be disarmed. B070F02A-EAT Keyless Entry System (Not all models) Locking doors
1. Close all doors.
2. Push the "LOCK" button on the trans-
mitter.
3. At the same time, all doors lock and the turn signal lights will blink once to indicate that the system is armed.
Unlocking doors
1. Push the "UNLOCK" button on the transmitter.
2. At the same time, all doors unlock and the turn signal lights will blink twice to indicate that the system isdisarmed.
NOTE: The transmitter will not work if any of following occur:
- The ignition key is in ignition switch.
- You exceed the operating distance limit (10 m). - The battery in the transmitter is
weak.
- Other vehicles or objects may be blocking the signal.
- The weather is extremely cold.
- The transmitter is close to a radio transmitter such as a radio stationor an airport which can interferewith normal operation of the trans- mitter.
When the transmitter does not work correctly, open and close the door with the ignition key. If you have a problem with the transmitter, con-tact an authorised Hyundai repairer. NOTE: Keep the transmitter away from wa- ter or any liquid. If the keyless entrysystem is inoperative due to expo- sure to water or liquids, it will not be covered by your manufacturer ve-hicle warranty.

B070E02HP-EAT Replacing the battery When the transmitter's battery begins to get weak, it may take several pusheson the button to lock or unlock the doors, and the LED will not light. Re- place the battery as soon as possible. Battery type : CR1616 Replacement instructions:
1. Carefully separate the case with aphillips screwdriver.

The power windows operate when the ignition key is in the "ON" position. The main switches are located on the driver's armrest and control the frontand rear windows on both sides of the vehicle. The windows may be opened by depressing the appropriate windowswitch and closed by pulling up the switch. To open the window on the driver's side, press the switch(1) half-way down. The window moves as long as the switch is operated. To fully open the driver's window automatically, pressthe switch fully down. In automatic operation, the window will fully open even if you let go of the switch. To stopat the desired opening, pull up and release the switch.

2. Take off the battery cover after sepa- rating the transmitter.
3. Remove the old battery from the
transmitter with a blade screwdriver inserted in the hole and note the polarity. Make sure the polarity of the new battery is the same(+side facingup), then insert it in the transmitter.

!WARNING:
o When the SRS is activated, there may be a loud noise and fine dust will be released throughout thevehicle. These conditions are normal and are not hazardous. However, the fine dust generatedduring airbag deployment may cause skin irritation. Be sure to wash your hands and face thor-oughly with lukewarm water and a mild soap after an accident in which the airbags were deployed. o The SRS can function only when
the ignition key is in the "ON"position. If the SRS SRI does not flash, or continuously remains on after flashing for about 6 secondswhen the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the en- gine is started, or comes on whilstdriving, the SRS is not working properly. If this occurs, have your vehicle immediately inspected byyour Hyundai authorised repairer.
o Before you replace a fuse or dis-
connect a battery terminal, turnthe ignition key to the "LOCK" position or remove the ignition key. Never remove or replace theair bag related fuse(s) when the ignition key is in the "ON" posi- tion. Failure to heed this warningwill cause the SRS SRI to illumi- nate. B240C02HP-EAT SRS Care The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and so there are no parts you cansafely service by yourself. The entire SRS system must be inspected by a Hyundai authorised repairer 10 yearsafter the date that the vehicle was manufactured. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel must beperformed by a qualified Hyundai tech- nician. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in serious personalinjury.

The front ashtray may be opened by pushing and releasing the ashtray/cigar lighter door at its top edge. To remove the ashtray in order to cleanit, the metal ash receptacle should be removed from the ashtray door. Do not attempt to remove the entire ashtraydoor assembly, or damage will result. Instead, lift the metal ash receptacle upward and pull it out. To reinstall it,place it in the proper position and press it down and forward to reengage the ash receptacle rear lip in the ashtray door.The ashtray light will only illuminate when the exterior body lights are switched on.

The power outlet is located in front of the centre console and in the quartertrim. It is also located behind the centre console. These supply 12V electrical power tooperate electric accessories or equip- ment only when the key is in the "ON" or "ACC" position.
CAUTION:
o Only use the power outlet when the engine is running. Removethe electrical appliance from thepower outlet when not in use. Fail- ure to adhere to this advice may result in a discharged battery afterseveral hours.
o Do not use the power outlet to
connect electrical accessories orequipment other than those de- signed to operate on 12 volts.
o Some electrical devices can cause
electronic interference whenplugged into the power outlet. These devices may cause exces-sive audio noise and malfunc- tions in other electronic systems or devices used in your vehicle.

B490A03Y-EAT Interior Light The interior courtesy light has three buttons. The three buttons are: o DOOR In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any door is opened regardless of the igni- tion key position. The light goes outgradually 6 seconds after the door is closed. o ON In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times. NOTE: Ensure the light is turned to the "OFF" position after use. Leaving in the on position for prolonged peri-ods will discharge the battery.
