• The engine can be started two consecutive times (two
15-minute cycles) with the RKE transmitter. However,
the ignition switch must be cycled to the ON/RUN
position before you can repeat the start sequence for a
third cycle.
Remote start will also cancel if any of the following occur:
• The engine stalls or RPM exceeds 2500
• Any engine warning lamps come on
• The hood is opened
• The hazard switch is pressed
• The transmission is moved out of PARK
• The brake pedal is pressed To Exit Remote Start Mode Without Driving The
Vehicle
Press and release the REMOTE START button one time or
allow the engine to run for the entire 15-minute cycle.
NOTE: To avoid unintentional shut downs, the system
will disable the one time press of the REMOTE START
button for two seconds after receiving a valid Remote
Start request.
To Exit Remote Start Mode And Drive The Vehicle
Before the end of the 15-minute cycle, press and release
the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter to unlock
the doors and disarm the Vehicle Security Alarm (if
equipped). Then, insert the key into the ignition switch
and turn the switch to the ON/RUN position.
NOTE: The ignition switch must be in the ON/RUN

REAR SWING GATE
The rear swing gate can be unlocked by using the key,
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, or by activating
the power door lock switches located on the front doors.
To open the swing gate, press the button on the gate
handle. NOTE: Close the rear flip-up window before attempting
to close the swing gate (hard top models only).
CAUTION!Do not press on rear wiper blade when closing the
rear flip-up window, as damage to the blade will
result.
WARNING!Driving with the flip-up window open can allow
poisonous exhaust gases into your vehicle. You and
your passengers could be injured by these fumes.
Keep the flip-up window closed when you are oper-
ating the vehicle.

NOTE:
• The available selections for each of the above entries
varies depending upon the disc.
• These selections can only be made while playing a
DVD.
• VES™ Power - Allows you to turn VES™ ON and OFF
(if equipped).
• VES™ Lock - Locks out rear VES™ remote controls (if
equipped).
• VES™ CH1/CH2 - Allows the user to change the mode
of either the IR1 or IR2 wireless headphones by
pressing the AUDIO/SELECT button (if equipped).
• Set Home Clock - Pressing the SELECT button allows
you to set the clock. Turn the TUNE/SCROLL control
knob to adjust the hours and then press and turn the TUNE/SCROLL control knob to adjust the minutes.
Press the TUNE/SCROLL control knob again to save
changes.
• Player Defaults - Selecting this item will allow the user
to scroll through the following items and set defaults
according to customer preference.
Menu Language — If Equipped
Selecting this item will allow the user to choose the
default startup DVD menu language (effective only if
language supported by disc). If you want to select a
language not listed, then scroll down and select  other. 
Enter the four-digit country code using the TUNE/
SCROLL control knob to scroll up and down to select the
number and then push to select.

Manual Heating And Air Conditioning
The Manual Temperature Controls consist of a series of
outer rotary dials and inner push knobs. Blower Control
Rotate this control to regulate the
amount of air forced through the venti-
lation system in any mode. The blower
speed increases as you move the control
to the right from the “O” (OFF) position.
There are seven blower speeds.
NOTE: For vehicles equipped with Remote Start, the
climate controls will not function during Remote Start
operation if the blower control is left in the “O” (Off)
