•When installing a container of liq‐uid air freshener inside the vehicle,do not place it near the instrumentcluster nor on the instrument pan‐el surface. It may become dangerous projec‐tiles and cause injury if the pas‐senger's air bag inflates.
WARNING
•If an air bag deploys, there may bea loud noise followed by a finedust released in the vehicle. Theseconditions are normal and are nothazardous - the air bags arepacked in this fine powder. Thedust generated during air bag de‐ployment may cause skin or eyeirritation as well as aggravateasthma for some persons. Alwayswash all exposed skin areas thor‐oughly with cold water and a mildsoap after an accident in which theair bags were deployed.

•The SRS can function only whenthe ignition key is in the ON posi‐tion. If the SRS air bag warninglight does not illuminate, or contin‐uously remains on after illuminat‐ing for about 6 seconds when theignition key is turned to the ONposition, or after the engine isstarted, comes on while driving, the SRS is not working properly. Inthis case, have the system inspec‐ted by a professional workshop.Kia recommends to visit an au‐thorized Kia dealer/service part‐ner.
•Before you replace a fuse or dis‐connect a battery terminal, turnthe ignition switch to the LOCK po‐sition and remove the ignition key.Never remove or replace the airbag related fuse(s) when the igni‐tion switch is in the ON position.Failure to heed this warning willcause the SRS air bag warninglight to illuminate.

in proper position to obtain maxi‐mum benefit from the air bag.Even with air bags, improperly andunbelted occupants can be severelyinjured when the air bag inflates. Al‐ways follow the precautions aboutseat belts, air bags and occupantsafety contained in this manual. To reduce the chance of serious orfatal injuries and receive the maxi‐mum safety benefit from your re‐straint system:•Never place a child in any child orbooster seat in the front seat.
•ABC – Always Buckle Children inthe back seat. It is the safest placefor children of any age to ride.
•Front and side air bags can injureoccupants improperly positioned inthe front seats.
•Move your seat as far back aspractical from the front air bags, while still maintaining control ofthe vehicle.

•You and your passengers shouldnever sit or lean unnecessarilyclose to the air bags. Improperlypositioned drivers and passengerscan be severely injured by inflatingair bags.
•Never lean against the door orcenter console – always sit in anupright position.
•No objects should be placed overor near the air bag modules on thesteering wheel, instrument panel, and the front passenger's panelabove the glove box, because anysuch object could cause harm ifthe vehicle is in a crash severeenough to cause the air bags todeploy.
•Do not tamper with or disconnectSRS wiring or other components ofthe SRS system. Doing so could re‐sult in injury, due to accidental de‐ployment of the air bags or byrendering the SRS inoperative.

•If the SRS air bag warning light re‐mains illuminated while the vehicleis being driven, have the systeminspected by a professional work‐shop. Kia recommends to visit anauthorized Kia dealer/service part‐ner.
•Air bags can only be used once –have the system replaced by aprofessional workshop.Kia recommends to visit an au‐thorized Kia dealer/service part‐ner.
•The SRS is designed to deploy thefront air bags only when an impactis sufficiently severe and when theimpact angle is less than 30° fromthe forward longitudinal axis ofthe vehicle. Additionally, the airbags will only deploy once. Seatbelts must be worn at all times.
•Front air bags are not intended todeploy in side-impact, rear-impactor rollover crashes. In addition, front air bags will not deploy infrontal crashes below the deploy‐ment threshold.

CAUTION
•If the passenger’s front air bagON/OFF switch is not workingproperly, the air bag warning light() on the instrument panel willilluminate. And, the passenger's front air bagOFF indicator () will not illumi‐nate (The passenger's front airbag ON indicator comes on andgoes off after approximately 60seconds), the SRS Control Modulereactivates the passenger’s frontair bag and the passenger’s frontair bag will inflate in frontal impactcrashes even if the passenger’sfront air bag ON/OFF switch is setto the OFF position. In this case, have the system in‐spected by a professional work‐shop. Kia recommends to visit anauthorized Kia dealer/service part‐ner.

•If the SRS air bag warning lightblinks or does not illuminate whenthe ignition switch is turned to theON position, or if it illuminateswhile the vehicle is being driven, have the system inspected by aprofessional workshop. Kia recom‐mends to visit an authorized Kiadealer/service partner.
WARNING
•The driver is responsible for theproper position of the passenger’sfront air bag ON/OFF switch.
•Deactivate the passenger's frontair bag only when the ignitionswitch is switched off, or the mal‐function may occur in the SRSControl Module. And there may be a danger thatthe driver's and/or front passeng‐er’s and/or side and curtain air bagmay fail to trigger, or not triggercorrectly during a collision.

•Never install a rearward facingchild seat on the front passenger'sseat unless the passenger's frontair bag has been deactivated. Theinfant or child could be severely in‐jured or killed by an air bag deploy‐ment in case of an accident.
•Even though your vehicle is equip‐ped with the passenger's front airbag ON/OFF switch, do not install achild restraint system in the frontpassenger's seat. A child restraintsystem must never be placed inthe front seat. Children who aretoo large for child restraint sys‐tems should always occupy therear seat and use the available lap/shoulder belts. Children are affor‐ded the most safety in the eventof an accident when they are re‐strained by a proper restraint sys‐tem in the rear seat.
•As soon as the child seat is no lon‐ger needed on the front passeng‐er's seat, reactivate the front pas‐senger's air bag.
