Coasting guide (if equipped)
A chime will sound and the coasting
guide indicator will blink four times to
inform the driver when to take the
foot off the accelerator by anticipat-
ing a decelerating event* based on
the analysis of driving routes and
road conditions according to the nav-
igation system. It encourages the
driver to remove the foot from the
pedal and allow coasting down the
road with EV motor only. This helps
preventing unnecessary fuel con-
sumption and increases fuel efficien-
cy.❈
Example of a deceleration event is
going down an extended hill,
approaching a toll booth, and
approaching reduced speed
zones.
Press the Engine Start/Stop button
and put the shift lever in P(Park). In
the User Settings Mode, select
Driver assistance, Coasting Guide,
and then On to turn on the system.
Cancel the selection of coasting
guide to turn off the system. For the
explanation of the system, press and
hold the [OK] button.

To activate the system, take the fol-
lowing procedures. Enter your desti-
nation information on the navigation
and select the driving route. Select
the ECO mode in the Integrated
Driving Control System. Then, satisfy
the following.
- The driving speed should be
between 60 km/h (37 mph) and 160
km/h (99 mph).

due to difference between instru-
ment cluster and navigation effect-
ed by tire inflation level.

Coasting guide is only a supplemen-
tal system to assist with fuel-efficient
driving in certain situations. Thus,
the operating conditions may be dif-
ferent in accordance with
traffic/road conditions (i.e. driving
in a traffic jam, driving on a slope,
driving on a curve). Thus, take the
actual driving conditions into con-
sideration, such as distances from
the vehicles ahead/ behind, while
referring to the coasting guide sys-
tem as guidance.
Unplug vehicle to start
(Plug-in hybrid)
This message is displayed when you
start the engine without unplugging
the charging cable. Unplug the
charging cable, and then start the
vehicle.
Remaining time (Plug-in hybrid)
This message is displayed to notify
the remaining time to fully charge the
battery.
Shift to P to charge(Plug-in hybrid)
This message is displayed when the
charging connector is plugged with
the shift lever in R (Reverse), N
(Neutral) or D (Drive). Move the shift
lever to P (Park) and re-start the
charging process.
Electric/Hybrid modes (Plug-in hybrid)
A corresponding message is dis-
played when a mode is selected by
pressing the HEV button.
Low battery. Maintaining Hybridmode (Plug-in hybrid)
This message is displayed when the
vehicle is unable to convert to EV
mode even when pressing the HEV
button during HEV mode driving due
to insufficient high-voltage (hybrid)
battery level.
Low battery temp. Maintainingcurrent (Plug-in hybrid)
This message is displayed when the
vehicle is unable to convert to EV
mode even when pressing the HEV

to low battery temperature.

Master warning mode
(if equipped)
This warning light informs the driv- er of the following situations
- LED head lamp malfunction (if equipped)
- Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go malfunction (if equipped)
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist malfunction (if equipped)
- Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) malfunction (if equipped)
- Lamp malfunction
- High Beam Assist malfunction (if equipped)
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) malfunction (if equipped)
- Intelligent Speed Limit Warning malfunction (if equipped)
The Master Warning Light illumi-
nates if one or more of the above
warning situations occur.
If the warning situation is resolved
the master warning light will be
turned off.
User Settings Mode
Description
On this mode, you can change set-
ting of the doors, lamps, and so on.
Shift to P to edit settings
This warning message appears if
you try to adjust the User Settings
while driving.
For your safety, change the User
Settings after parking the vehicle,
applying the parking brake and mov-

Anti-lock Brake System
(ABS) Warning Light
This warning light illuminates:
Once you set the Engine Start/Stop Button to the ON posi-
tion.
- It illuminates for approximately 3seconds and then goes off.
When there is a malfunction with the ABS (The normal braking sys-
tem will still be operational without
the assistance of the anti-lock
brake system).
In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer.

The parking distance warning-reverse
assists the driver during backward
movement of the vehicle by chiming if
any object is sensed within a distance
of 120 cm (47 in.) behind the vehicle.
This system is a supplemental system
and it is not intended to nor does it
replace the need for extreme care and
attention of the driver. The sensing
range and objects detectable by the
back sensors (➀ ) are limited.
Whenever backing-up, pay as much
attention to what is behind you as you
would in a vehicle without a parking
distance warning-reverse.
Operation of the parking dis-
tance warning-reverse
Operating condition
This system will activate when backing up with the ignition switch
ON.
If the vehicle is moving at a speed
over 5 km/h (3 mph), the system
may not be activated correctly.
The sensing distance while the back-up warning system is in oper-
ation is approximately 120 cm (47
in.) at the rear bumper center area,
60 cm (23.5 in.) at the rear bumper
both side area.
When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the clos-
est one will be recognized first.

Parking distance warning-
reverse
Never rely solely on the parking
distance warning-reverse sys-
tem. Always perform a visual
inspection to make sure the
vehicle is clear of all obstruc-
tions before moving the vehicle
in any direction. Stop immedi-
ately if you are aware of a child
anywhere near your vehicle.
Some objects may not be
detected by the sensors, due to
the object's size or material.

The 360° camera monitoring system
is not a substitute for proper and safe
parking procedures. The 360° cam-
era monitoring system may not
detect every object surrounding the
vehicle. Always drive safely and use
caution when parking.
The 360° camera monitoring system
can assist in parking by allowing the
driver to see around the vehicle.
Push the button into the [ON] posi-
tion to operate the system.
To cancel the system, push the but-
ton again. Operating conditions
- When the Engine Start/Stop
Button is ON position
- When the transaxle is on D, N or R
- When the vehicle speed is not over 15 km/h (9 mph)
When the vehicle speed is over 15 km/h (9 mph), the 360° camera
monitoring system is turned off. If
the vehicle speed is not over 15
km/h (9 mph) after turning off the
360° camera monitoring system by
over speed, the 360° camera moni-
toring system is not turned on. To
operate again, push the button.
When the vehicle moves back- wards, regardless of On/Off of but-
ton and vehicle speed, the 360°
camera monitoring system is oper-
ated.
When the liftgate and driver/pas- senger door are opened and the
outside mirror is folded, the warn-
ing is illuminated in 360° camera
monitoring system. If the 360° camera monitoring sys-
tem is not operating normally, the
system should be checked by an
authorized Kia dealer.
When the vehicle moves over 15 km/h (9 mph) forward after moving
backward, the 360° camera monitor-
ing system screen will be turned off.

Driving your vehicle
Good braking practices
Check to be sure the parking brakeis not engaged and the parking
brake indicator light is out before
driving away.
Driving through water may get the brakes wet. They can also get wet
when the vehicle is washed. Wet
brakes can be dangerous! Your
vehicle will not stop as quickly if the
brakes are wet. Wet brakes may
cause the vehicle to pull to one side.
To dry the brakes, apply the brakes
lightly until the braking action
returns to normal, taking care to
keep the vehicle under control at all
times. If the braking action does not
return to normal, stop as soon as it
is safe to do so and call an author-
ized Kia dealer for assistance.
Don't coast down hills with the vehicle out of gear. This is extreme-
ly hazardous. Keep the vehicle in
gear at all times, use the brakes to
slow down, then shift to a lower
gear so that engine braking will
help you maintain a safe speed. Don't "ride" the brake pedal.
Resting your foot on the brake
pedal while driving can be danger-
ous because the brakes might
overheat and lose their effective-
ness. It also increases the wear of
the brake components.
If a tire goes flat while you are driv- ing, apply the brakes gently and
keep the vehicle pointed straight
ahead while you slow down. When
you are moving slowly enough for it
to be safe to do so, pull off the road
and stop in a safe place.
If your vehicle is equipped with an Automatic Transmission, don't let
your vehicle creep forward. To
avoid creeping forward, keep your
foot firmly on the brake pedal when
the vehicle is stopped.
Be cautious when parking on a hill. Firmly engage the parking brake
and place the shift lever in P (auto-
matic transmission). If your vehicle
is facing downhill, turn the front
wheels into the curb to help keep
the vehicle from rolling.WARNING- Maintaining
Brake Pressure on Incline
HAC does not replace the need
to apply brakes while stopped on
an incline. While stopped, make
sure you maintain brake pres-
sure sufficient to prevent your
vehicle from rolling backward
and causing an accident. Don’t
release the brake pedal until you
are ready to accelerate forward.

Limitation of the system
The Forward Collision-Avoidance
Assist (FCA) system is designed to
monitor the vehicle or pedestrians
ahead in the roadway through cam-
era recognition to warn the driver
that a collision is imminent, and if
necessary, apply emergency brak-
ing.
In certain situations, the camera may
not be able to detect the vehicle or
pedestrians ahead. In these cases,
the FCA system may not operate
normally. The driver must pay careful
attention in the following situations
where the FCA operation may be
limited.
Detecting vehicles
The sensor may be limited when:
The camera is covered object ordebris
Inclement weather such as heavy rain or snow obscures the field of
view of the camera
The camera recognition is limited
The vehicle in front is too small to be detected (for example a motor-
cycle or a bicycle, etc.)
The vehicle in front is an oversize vehicle or trailer that is too big to
be detected by the camera recog-
nition system. (for example a trac-
tor, trailer, etc.)
The camera's field of view is not well illuminated (either too dark or too
much reflection or too much back-
light that obscures the field of view)
The vehicle in front does not have their rear lights properly turned ON
or their rear lights are located
unusually.
The outside brightness changes suddenly, for example when enter-
ing or exiting a tunnel When light coming from a street
light or an oncoming vehicle is
reflected on a wet road surface
such as a puddle in the road.
The field of view in front is obstructed by sun glare or head-
light of oncoming vehicle.
The windshield glass is fogged up.
The vehicle in front is driving errat- ically.
The vehicle is on unpaved or uneven rough surfaces, or roads
with sudden gradient changes.
The vehicle is drives inside a build- ing, such as a basement parking lot
The camera does not recognize the entire vehicle in front.
The camera is damaged.
The brightness outside is too low such as when the headlamps are
not on at night or the vehicle is
going through a tunnel.
Adverse road conditions cause excessive vehicle vibrations while
driving
The sensor recognition changes suddenly when passing over a
speed bump
