The emergency key allows for entry
into the vehicle should the battery in
the vehicle or the RKE transmitter go
dead. The emergency key is also for
locking the lower glove compartment.
You can keep the emergency key with
you when valet parking.
To remove the emergency key, slide
the mechanical latch at the top of the
Key Fob sideways with your thumb
and then pull the key out with your
other hand.
NOTE:
You can insert the double-sided
emergency key into the lock cylin-
der with either side up.Removing Key Fob From Ignition
Place the shift lever in PARK. Turn
the Key Fob to the OFF position and
then remove the Key Fob.
NOTE:
Power window switches will also
remain active for up to 10 minutes
after the ignition switch has been
turned to OFF, depending upon the
accessory delay setting. Opening
either front door will cancel this
feature.
WARNING!
 Never leave children alone in a
vehicle. Leaving unattended chil-
dren in a vehicle is dangerous for a
number of reasons. A child or oth-
ers could be seriously or fatally
injured. Don't leave the keys in
the ignition. A child could operate
power windows, other controls, or
move the vehicle.
 Do not leave children or animals
inside parked vehicles in hot
weather. Interior heat build-up
may cause serious injury or death.
CAUTION!
An unlocked car is an invitation to
thieves. Always remove the Key Fob
from the ignition and lock all doors
when leaving the vehicle unat-
tended.
Key-In-Ignition Reminder
Opening the driver's door when the
Key Fob is in the ignition and the
ignition switch position is OFF or
ACC, a chime will sound to remind
you to remove the key.
NOTE:
The Key-In-Ignition reminder
only sounds when the Key Fob is
placed in the OFF or ACC ignition
position.
If your vehicle is equipped with Key-
less Enter-N-Go, opening the driver’s
door when the vehicle’s ignition
switch is placed in ACC or ON/RUN
(engine stopped) will cause the re-
minder chime to sound. Refer to
“Starting Procedures” in “Starting
And Operating” for further informa-
tion.
Emergency Key Removal

 For vehicles equipped with Keyless
Enter-N-Go, make sure the vehicle
ignition system is "OFF".
 For vehicles not equipped with Key-
less Enter-N-Go, make sure the ve-
hicle ignition system is "OFF" and the
key is physically removed from the
ignition.
2. Perform one of the following
methods to lock the vehicle:
 Press LOCK on the interior power
door lock switch with the driver
and/or passenger door open.
 Press the LOCK button on the exte-
rior Passive Entry Door Handle with a
valid Key Fob available in the same
exterior zone (refer to "Keyless Enter-
N-Go" in "Things To Know Before
Starting Your Vehicle" for further in-
formation).
 Press the LOCK button on the Re-
mote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmit-
ter.
3. If any doors are open, close them.TO DISARM THE SYSTEM
The Vehicle Security Alarm can be
disarmed using any of the following
methods:
 Press the UNLOCK button on the
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
transmitter.
 Grasp the Passive Entry Unlock Door Handle (for versions/
markets, where provided), refer to
"Keyless Enter-N-Go" in "Things
To Know Before Starting Your Ve-
hicle" for further information).
 Cycle the vehicle ignition system out of the OFF position.
 For vehicles equipped with Key-less Enter-N-Go, press the Key-
less Enter-N-Go Start/Stop but-
ton (requires at least one valid
Key Fob in the vehicle).
 For vehicles not equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go, insert a
valid key into the ignition switch
and turn the key to the ON
position. NOTE:
 The driver's door key cylinder
and the liftgate button on the
RKE transmitter cannot arm or
disarm the Vehicle Security
Alarm.
 The Vehicle Security Alarm re- mains armed during power lift-
gate entry. Pressing the liftgate
button will not disarm the Ve-
hicle Security Alarm. If someone
enters the vehicle through the
liftgate and opens any door the
alarm will sound.
 When the Vehicle Security Alarm is armed, the interior
power door lock switches will
not unlock the doors.
The Vehicle Security Alarm is de-
signed to protect your vehicle; how-
ever, you can create conditions where
the system will give you a false alarm.
If one of the previously described
arming sequences has occurred, the
Vehicle Security Alarm will arm re-
gardless of whether you are in the
vehicle or not. If you remain in the
vehicle and open a door, the alarm

until it is fully open and then
press the switch again.
 If the power sliding door en- counters multiple obstructions
within the same cycle, the sys-
tem will automatically stop, the
power sliding door motor will
make a clicking sound until the
door has no further movement.
This clicking sound can be
stopped by pulling the inside or
outside handle. If this condition
occurs, no damage is done to the
power sliding door motor. The
power sliding door must be
opened or closed manually.WARNING!
You, or others, could be injured if
caught in the path of the sliding
door. Make sure the door path is
clear before closing the door.
Power Sliding Side Door Open
Flash
The left and right exterior hazard
lights will flash for 12 seconds when
either sliding door is opened. This will alert other drivers in the area that
passenger(s) could be entering or ex-
iting the vehicle.
The Sliding Side Door Open Flash can
be enabled or disabled by performing
the following procedure:
1. Place the Key Fob in the ignition
switch.
2. Cycle the ignition switch from ON/
RUN to OFF five times ending in the
ON/RUN position
(do not start the
engine).
3. Within 10 seconds of the final
cycle, press the HAZARD switch ON.
4. A single chime will sound to signify
that you have successfully completed
the programming.
You can turn the feature back on by
repeating the previous procedure.
Power Sliding Side Door Master
Lock Switch
To provide a safer environment for
small children riding in the rear seats,
the second row sliding door switches
and handles may be overridden by pressing the OFF side of the Master
Lock Out Switch located in the front
overhead console.
When the power sliding door master
lock switch is in the OFF position, the
power sliding side door may not be
opened or closed by pressing the
switch located on the b-pillar trim
panel, just in front of the sliding door
or activating the inside power sliding
door handle.

Turn SMS Incoming Announcement
ON/OFF
Turning the SMS Incoming An-
nouncement OFF will stop the system
from announcing the new incoming
messages.
 Press the
button.
 After the “Ready” prompt and the following beep, say “Setup, Incom-
ing Message Announcement”, you
will then be given a choice to
change it.
Bluetooth® Communication Link
Mobile phones have been found to
lose connection to the Uconnect™
Phone. When this happens, the con-
nection can generally be reestablished
by switching the phone off/on. Your
mobile phone is recommended to re-
main in Bluetooth® ON mode.
Power-Up
After switching the ignition key from
OFF to either ON or ACC position, or
after a language change, you must
wait at least 15 seconds prior to using
the system.

To raise the head restraint, pull up-
ward on the head restraint. To lower
the head restraint, press the push but-
ton, located at the base of the head
restraint, and push downward on the
head restraint.
For comfort the Active Head Re-
straints can be tilted forward and
rearward. To tilt the head restraint
closer to the back of your head, pull
outward on the bottom of the head
restraint. Push rearward on the bot-
tom of the head restraint to move the
head restraint away from your head.NOTE:
 The head restraints should only
be removed by qualified techni-
cians, for service purposes only.
If either of the head restraints
require removal, see your autho-
rized dealer.  In the event of deployment of an
Active Head Restraint, refer to
“Occupant Restraints/Resetting
Active Head Restraints (AHR)”
in “Things To Know Before
Starting Your Vehicle” for fur-
ther information.
WARNING!
 Do not place items over the top ofthe Active Head Restraint, such as
coats, seat covers or portable DVD
players. These items may interfere
with the operation of the Active
Head Restraint in the event of a
collision and could result in seri-
ous injury or death.
 Active Head Restraints may be
deployed if they are struck by an
object such as a hand, foot or loose
cargo. To avoid accidental deploy-
ment of the Active Head Restraint
ensure that all cargo is secured, as
loose cargo could contact the Ac-
tive Head Restraint during sud-
den stops. Failure to follow this
warning could cause personal in-
jury if the Active Head Restraint is
deployed.

CUPHOLDERS
There are cupholders located
throughout the interior. All liners are
removable for cleaning. Pull the flex-
ible liner from the cupholder drawer
or tray starting at one edge for easy
removal. Refer to “Cleaning The In-
strument Panel Cupholders” in
“Maintaining Your Vehicle” for fur-
ther information.
INSTRUMENT PANEL
CUPHOLDERS
The instrument panel cupholders are
located in a pull-out drawer just
above the lower storage bin.Pull the drawer out firmly until it
stops, and place the container to be
held in either one of the cupholder
wells. The cupholders are designed to
accommodate a wide variety of con-
tainer types and sizes. Press down on
the container to engage the cupholder
retention features.
SUPER CONSOLE (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
On models equipped with the Super
Console, there are two cupholders lo-
cated in the center of the console.
For rear passengers two cupholders
are located in the pull-out drawer,
located in the back of the Super Con-
sole. Pull the drawer out to the first
position to use the cupholders.PREMIUM CONSOLE

holders located on the top of the con-

If the ABS light is on, the brake sys-
tem should be serviced as soon as
possible to restore the benefits of
Anti-Lock brakes. If the ABS light
does not turn on when the ignition
switch is turned to the ON/RUN posi-
tion, have the light inspected by an
authorized dealer.
8. Tire Pressure Monitoring
Telltale Light (for versions/
markets, where provided)Each tire, including the
spare (if provided), should
be checked monthly when
cold and inflated to the in-
flation pressure recommended by the
vehicle manufacturer on the vehicle
placard or tire inflation pressure la-
bel. (If your vehicle has tires of a
different size than the size indicated
on the vehicle placard or tire inflation
pressure label, you should determine
the proper tire inflation pressure for
those tires.) As an added safety feature, your ve-
hicle has been equipped with a Tire
Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
that illuminates a low tire pressure
telltale when one or more of your tires
is significantly under-inflated. Ac-
cordingly, when the low tire pressure
telltale illuminates, you should stop
and check your tires as soon as pos-
sible, and inflate them to the proper
pressure. Driving on a significantly
under-inflated tire causes the tire to
overheat and can lead to tire failure.
Under-inflation also reduces fuel effi-
ciency and tire tread life, and may
affect the vehicle’s handling and stop-
ping ability.
Please note that the TPMS is not a
substitute for proper tire mainte-
nance, and it is the driver’s responsi-
bility to maintain correct tire pres-
sure, even if under-inflation has not
reached the level to trigger illumina-
tion of the TPMS low tire pressure
telltale.Your vehicle has also been equipped
with a TPMS malfunction indicator to
indicate when the system is not oper-
ating properly. The TPMS malfunc-
tion indicator is combined with the
low tire pressure telltale. When the
system detects a malfunction, the tell-
tale will flash for approximately one
minute and then remain continuously
illuminated. This sequence will con-
tinue upon subsequent vehicle start-
ups as long as the malfunction exists.
When the malfunction indicator is il-
luminated, the system may not be
able to detect or signal low tire pres-
sure as intended. TPMS malfunctions
may occur for a variety of reasons,
including the installation of replace-
ment or alternate tires or wheels on
the vehicle that prevent the TPMS
from functioning properly. Always
check the TPMS malfunction telltale
after replacing one or more tires or
wheels on your vehicle, to ensure that
the replacement or alternate tires and
wheels allow the TPMS to continue to
function properly.

NOTE:
 The “ESC Off Indicator Light”and the “ESC Activation/
Malfunction Indicator Light”
come on momentarily each time
the ignition switch is turned to
ON/RUN.
 Each time the ignition is turned to ON/RUN, the ESC system will
be ON, even if it was turned off
previously.
 The ESC system will make buzz- ing or clicking sounds when it is
active. This is normal; the
sounds will stop when ESC be-
comes inactive following the
maneuver that caused the ESC
activation. 11. Electronic Stability Control
(ESC) OFF Indicator Light (for
versions/markets, where provided)
This light indicates the
Electronic Stability Control
(ESC) is off.
12. Speedometer
Indicates vehicle speed.
13. Fuel Door Reminder The arrow in this symbol is
a reminder that the Fuel
Filler Door is located on the
left side of the vehicle.
14. Fuel Gauge
The pointer shows the level of fuel in
the fuel tank when the ignition switch
is in the ON/RUN position.
15. Air Bag Warning Light This light will turn on for
four to eight seconds as a
bulb check when the igni-
tion switch is first turned to
ON/RUN. If the light is either not on
during starting, stays on, or turns on
while driving, have the system in-
spected at an authorized dealer as
soon as possible. Refer to “Occupant Restraints” in “Things To Know Be-
fore Starting Your Vehicle” for further
information.
16. Shift Lever Indicator
The Shift Lever Indicator is self-
contained within the instrument clus-
ter. It displays the gear position of the
automatic transmission.
NOTE:
 You must apply the brakes be-
fore shifting from PARK.
 The highest available transmis- sion gear is displayed in the
lower right corner of the Elec-
tronic Vehicle Information Cen-
ter (EVIC) whenever the Elec-
tronic Range Select (ERS)
feature is active. Use the +/- se-
lector on the shift lever to acti-
vate ERS. Refer to “Automatic
Transmission” in “Starting And
Operating” for further informa-
tion.

The light also will turn on when the
parking brake is applied with the ig-
nition switch in the ON/RUN posi-
tion.
NOTE:
This light shows only that the
parking brake is applied. It does
not show the degree of brake ap-
plication.
19. Seat Belt Reminder LightWhen the ignition switch is first
turned to ON/RUN, this light
will turn on for four to eight
seconds as a bulb check. During the
bulb check, if the driver or front pas-
senger's seat belt is unbuckled, a
chime will sound. After the bulb
check or when driving, if the driver's
seat belt remains unbuckled, the Seat
Belt Reminder Light will illuminate
and the chime will sound. Refer to
“Occupant Restraints” in “Things To
Know Before Starting Your Vehicle”
for further information. 20. Temperature Gauge
The temperature gauge shows engine
coolant temperature. Any reading
within the normal range indicates
that the engine cooling system is
op-
erating satisfactorily.
The gauge pointer will likely indicate
a higher temperature when driving in
hot weather, up mountain grades, or
when towing a trailer. It should not be
allowed to exceed the upper limits of
the normal operating range.
CAUTION!
Driving with a hot engine cooling
system could damage your vehicle.
If the temperature gauge reads “H”
pull over and stop the vehicle. Idle
the vehicle with the air conditioner
turned off until the pointer drops
back into the normal range. If the
pointer remains on the “H” and you
hear continuous chimes, turn the en-
gine off immediately and call an au-
thorized dealership for service.
WARNING!
A hot engine cooling system is dan-
gerous. You or others could be badly
burned by steam or boiling coolant.
You may want to call an authorized
dealership for service if your vehicle
overheats. If you decide to look un-
der the hood yourself, see “Main-
taining Your Vehicle”. Follow the
warnings under the Cooling System
Pressure Cap paragraph.
21. Rear Fog Light Indicator This indicator will illuminate
when the rear fog lights are
on. (Refer to “Lights” in “Un-
derstanding The Features Of
Your Vehicle” for further informa-
tion).

 Door AjarThis light will turn on to
indicate that one or more
doors may be ajar.
 Oil Pressure Warning Light This light indicates low engine
oil pressure. The light should
turn on momentarily when the engine
is started. If the light turns on while
driving, stop the vehicle and shut off
the engine as soon as possible. A
chime will sound when this light turns
on.
Do not operate the vehicle until the
cause is corrected. This light does not
show how much oil is in the engine.
The engine oil level must be checked
under the hood.
 Charging System Light This light shows the status of
the electrical charging system.
The light should come on when the
ignition switch is first turned ON and
remain on briefly as a bulb check. If
the light stays on or comes on while
driving, turn off some of the vehicle's
non-essential electrical devices or in-
crease engine speed (if at idle). If the charging system light remains on, it
means that the vehicle is experiencing
a problem with the charging system.
Obtain SERVICE IMMEDIATELY.
See an authorized dealer.
If jump starting is required, refer to
“Jump Starting Procedures” in “What
To Do In Emergencies”.
 Electronic Throttle Control
(ETC) Light This light informs you of a
problem with the Electronic
Throttle Control (ETC)
system. The light will come
on when the ignition is first turned ON
and remain on briefly as a bulb check.
If the light does not come on during
starting, have the system checked by
an authorized dealer.
If a problem is detected, the light will
come on while the engine is running.
Cycle the ignition key when the ve-
hicle has completely stopped and the
shift lever is placed in the PARK posi-
tion. The light should turn off.
If the light remains lit with the engine
running, your vehicle will usually be
drivable. However, see an authorized dealer for service as soon as possible.
If the light is flashing when the engine
is running, immediate service is re-
quired. You may experience reduced
performance, an elevated/rough idle
or engine stall and your vehicle may
require towing.
 Engine Temperature Warning
Light This light warns of an over-
heated engine condition. As
temperatures rise and the
gauge approaches H,this indicator
will illuminate and a single chime will
sound after reaching a set threshold.
Further overheating will cause the
temperature gauge to pass H,a con-
tinuous chime will occur until the en-
gine is allowed to cool.
If the light turns on while driving,
safely pull over and stop the vehicle. If
the A/C system is on, turn it off. Also,
shift the transmission into NEUTRAL
and idle the vehicle. If the tempera-
ture reading does not return to nor-
mal, turn the engine off immediately
and call for service. Refer to “If Your
Engine Overheats” in “What To Do In
Emergencies” for more information.
