Gear Neutral Sensor
A PLCD (permanent magnet l inear cont act les s dis placement) s ensor i s located on the exterior of the trans mi s si on cas i ngand hardwired t o t he ECM. The sens or’s functi on is t o det ect t hat neut ral gear has been s elected wi thi n a cali bratedwindow.
No cali brati on is neces sary for t he Gear Neut ral Sensor upon repl acement, i t is however monit ored and a DTC wil l belogged s houl d a fault occur. Fault codes can be diagnos ed us ing Land Rover approved di agnos ti c equi pment.
Linear Clutch Sensor
To ens ure an engine res tart during a St op/St art cycl e does not del ay the get away demands of cit y dri ving, the engine i sres t art ed in approximately 800 mil li seconds . This i s achi eved through t he li near clut ch s ens or triggeri ng an engine rest artwhen t he cl utch pedal is at t he s tart of i ts downward t ravel. So whil e t he dri ver conti nues t o depres s t he clutch t hrought he res t of it s t ravel t he engine rest art i s already i n progress .

Heater fan speed
Duri ng an engine s hutdown t he ATC monit ors cabin temperat ure and maint ai ns the fan speed at a l evel that wi ll cons erve,for as l ong as poss ibl e t he heat i n t he core of t he cabi n heat er. If the driver s elect s a hi gher fan s peed and the heatcannot be mai ntained i n t he heat er core, the engine will rest art .
Heated rear window and heated s eats
If the heated rear window or heated s eats are acti ve or act ivated during an engine shut down event t he power out put oft he relevant s ys t em wi ll be i nt errupted unt il the engi ne is rest art ed. Each front footwell duct is a s nap fit into the s i de of the heater as s embly and s ecured t o the cross car beam by a s ingles crew. The front footwel l ducts als o provide a locati on for t he foot well lamps .
The rear cabi n ducts are als o a snap fit i nto the heater as s embly. Each duct runs underneath t he carpet and is secured t ot he fl oor of t he vehi cl e by a si ngl e s crew l ocat ed beneat h t he front seat .
AIR REGISTERS AND VENTS
The air regi s ters allow the vehicle occupant s t o cont rol t he fl ow and di recti on of ai r from t he air ducts . The ins t rumentpanel contains 4 air regi st ers ; 1 mount ed on eit her end of t he i ns t rument panel and 2 mount ed central ly.

CABIN AIR FILTER
The cabi n air fil ter is locat ed behind t he RH s i de of the i nst rument panel and is housed wit hin t he heater as sembl y. Thefi lt er removes odors and fine part icl es , i ncludi ng pol len, from t he air ent ering the heater as s embly.

The ATC module is mounted in t he cente r console a nd is int egra l wi th t he control panel . The modul e works in conjunct ion witht he ECM to control a ll as pect s of hea ting, ve ntil ation, and A/C. Windshield Heater
The windshie ld heate r comprises 2 heate r el eme nts , LH and RH, bonded be twee n the glass laminat ions . The s yste m iss witched on by press ing the momentary swi tch l ocat ed on t he control panel . W hen selected, the ATC module t rans mits aheat ing request on t he high spe ed CAN bus to t he CJB. On rece ipt of the messa ge, the CJB ene rgiz es t he windshie ld heate rrelay loca ted in t he BJB by provi ding a ground path for t he relay coi l. The energized rela y provides a ba ttery fe ed t o bothheat er el eme nts . Aft er a period of 4 minutes the ATC module re moves t he request for windshie ld heati ng. The CJB the npowe rs down the windshield hea ter by re moving the ground pat h for the rel ay coil.
The ATC module will only reques t wi ndshield he ater ope rati on if the engine is runni ng. An e ngi ne s tatus si gnal is provi ded tot he ATC module by t he ECM over the high speed CAN bus.
