mechanical key
and then the
“POWER”
switch was
pressed, the
electronic key
could not be
detected in the
vehicle.
• The electronic
key could not be
detected in the
vehicle even
after the
“POWER”
switch was
pressed two
consecutive
times. Touch the elec-
tronic key to the
“POWER” switch
while depressing
the brake pedal.

made to start the
hybrid system
with the shift lever
in an incorrect
position. Shift the shift lever
to P and start the

made to turn the
“POWER” switch
off when the shift
lever was not in P. To turn off the
hybrid system,
first shift the shift
lever to P and
then turn the
“POWER” switch
off.

automatic power
off function. Next time when
starting the hybrid
system, increase
the hybrid system
speed slightly and
maintain that level
for approximately
5 minutes to
recharge the 12-
volt battery.

tem being started. Press the
“POWER” switch

the brake pedal.

event that the
electronic key was
not functioning
properly
( P. 7 8 2 ) , t h e
“POWER” switch
was touched with
the electronic key. Press the
“POWER” switch
within 10 seconds
of the buzzer
sounding.

Warning message in radar cruise mode (if equipped)
In the following cases, the warning message may not be displayed even if vehicle-
to-vehicle distance decreases: ●
When your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same speed or the
vehicle ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle●
When the vehicle ahead is traveling at a very low speed●
Immediately after cruise control speed is set●
At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed

If you have a flat tire Your vehicle is equipped with a spare ti re. The flat tire can be replaced with
the spare tire.
■ Before jacking up the vehicle
● Stop the vehicle on a hard, flat surface.
● Set the parking brake.
● Shift the shift lever to P.
● Stop the hybrid system.
● Turn on the emergency flashers.

Taking out the jack
Vehicles with a compact spare tire
Pull the lever upward to fold back
the front part of the deck board.
Pull the folded deck board upright.
Pull on the attached hook to
extend the string.STEP 1

Use the hook to secure the deck
board as shown in the illustration.
Remove the jack after removing
the hook.
Vehicles with a full-size spare tire
Pull the lever upward to fold back
the front part of the deck board.
Pull on the attached hook to

Remove the jack after removing
the hook.
Taking out the spare tire
Lift up the deck board. (See “Taking out the jack” for details.)
Remove the spare tire cover.
Loosen the center fastener that secures the spare tire.
