LATCH compatible child safety seats havetwo rigid or webbing mounted attachmentsthat connect to the two lower anchors at theLATCH equipped seating positions in yourvehicle. This type of attachment methodeliminates the need to use seatbelts to attachthe child restraint. However, you can still usethe seatbelt to attach the child restraint if thelower anchors are not used. Forforward-facing child restraints, you must alsoattach the top tether strap to the proper toptether anchor if a top tether strap has beenprovided with your child restraint. Werecommend the use of a child safety seathaving a top tether strap. See Using TetherStraps in this chapter.
Your vehicle has LATCH lower anchors forchild restraint installation at the seatingpositions marked with the child restraintsymbol.
Second Row Bench Seat
Second Row Bucket Seats
The LATCH anchors are at the rear sectionof the rear seat between the cushion andseatback, below the locator symbols on theseatback. Follow the child restraintmanufacturer’s instructions to properly installa child restraint with LATCH attachments.
The locator symbols are on round plasticbuttons for the center seat and onrectangular tags for the outboard seats.
Follow the instructions on attaching childsafety seats with tether straps. See UsingTether Straps in this chapter.
Attach LATCH lower attachments of the childrestraint only to the anchors shown.

LOCKING AND UNLOCKING
You can use the power door lock control orthe remote control to lock and unlock yourvehicle.
Power Door Locks
The power door lock control is on the driverand front passenger door panels.

Door Lock Indicator
An LED on each door window trim illuminateswhen you lock the door. It remains on forup to 10 minutes after you switch the ignitionoff.
Door Lock Switch Inhibitor
When you electronically lock your vehicle,the power door lock switch and interior trunkrelease switch do not operate after 20seconds. You must unlock your vehicle withthe remote control or keyless keypad, orswitch the ignition on, to restore function tothese switches. You can switch this featureon or off in the information display. SeeGeneral Information (page 120).
Note:Switch the ignition on and off afterchanging the setting in the informationdisplay.
Rear Door Unlocking and Opening
Pull the interior door handle twice to unlockand open a rear door. The first pull unlocksthe door and the second pull opens the door.
Remote Control
You can use the remote control at any time. The liftgate release button only operateswhen your vehicle's speed is less than 3 mph(5 km/h).
Unlocking the Doors (Two-Stage Unlock)
Press the button to unlock thedriver door.
Press the button again within three secondsto unlock all doors. The direction indicatorswill flash.
Note:If the system does not function, usethe key blade to lock and unlock yourvehicle.
Press and hold both the lock and unlockbuttons on the remote control for threeseconds to change between driver door orall doors unlock mode. The directionindicators flash twice to confirm the change. Driver door mode only unlocks the driverdoor when you press the unlock buttononce. All door mode unlocks all doors when

you press the unlock button once. Theunlocking mode applies to the remotecontrol, keyless entry keypad and intelligentaccess. You can also change between theunlocking modes using the informationdisplay. See General Information (page 120).
Reprogramming the Unlocking Function
Note: When you press the unlock button,either all the doors are unlocked or only thedriver door is unlocked. Pressing the unlockbutton again unlocks all the doors.
Press and hold the unlock and lock buttonson the remote control simultaneously for atleast four seconds with the ignition off. Thedirection indicators flash twice to confirm thechange.
To return to the original unlocking function,repeat the process.
Locking the Doors
Press the button to lock all doors. The direction indicators will flash.
Press the button again within three secondsto confirm that all the doors are closed. Thedoor lock again, the horn sounds and thedirection indicators flash if all the doors andthe liftgate are closed.
Note:If the system does not function, usethe key blade to lock and unlock yourvehicle.
Mislock
If any door or the liftgate is open, or if
the hood is open on vehicles with an
anti-theft alarm or remote start, the horn
sounds twice and the direction
indicators do not flash. You can switch
this feature on or off in the information
display. See General Information (page
120).
Opening the Liftgate
Press twice within three secondsto open the liftgate.
Activating Intelligent Access
General Information
You can unlock and lock the vehicle withouttaking the keys out of your pocket or pursewhen your intelligent access key is within3 ft (1 m) of your vehicle. Intelligent accessuses a sensor on the back of the door handlefor unlocking and a separate sensor on theface of each door handle for locking.
The system does not function if:
•Your vehicle battery has no charge.
•The key battery has no charge.
•The key frequencies are jammed.
Note:The system may not function if the keyis close to metal objects or electronicdevices, for example keys or a cell phone.
Note:If the system does not function, usethe key blade to lock and unlock yourvehicle. See Remote Control (page 62).

To Unlock the Liftgate Glass
Enter the factory-set 5-digit code or yourpersonal code, then press 5·6 to unlock theliftgate glass.
Displaying the Factory-Set Code
Note:Two programmed intelligent accesskeys are required for this procedure.
1. Open the floor console storagecompartment lid.
2. With the buttons facing the rear of yourvehicle and the key ring facing upward,place the first intelligent access key intothe backup slot inside the center console.
3. Press the push button ignition switchonce and wait for a few seconds.
4. Press the push button ignition switchagain and remove the intelligent accesskey from the center console.
5. Insert the second programmed key intothe backup slot in the center console,then press the push button ignitionswitch.
The factory-set code appears in theinformation display for a few seconds.
Note:The code may not display until afterany other warning messages first display.

Opening and Closing the Moonroof

Moonroof Open
Press and immediately release to fully openthe moonroof. If there is a comfort stopposition, the moonroof first opens to thecomfort stop position. Press and immediatelyrelease the control again to open themoonroof fully.
Moonroof Vent
Press and release to vent the moonroof.
Sunshade Open
Press and release to open the sunshade.The sunshade opens automatically with themoonroof. You can also open the sunshadewith the moonroof closed.
Note:The sunshade stops short of its fullyopened position for the comfort of rearpassengers. To open the sunshade fully,press the control again.
Sunshade Close
Press and release to close the sunshade.
Note:The sunshade does not fully closeunless the moonroof glass is fully closed.
Moonroof Close
Press and release to close the moonrooffrom either the open or vent positions.
Bounce-Back
The moonroof automatically reverses somedistance if an obstacle is detected whileclosing.
To override this feature, press and hold themoonroof close control within two secondsafter the roof comes to a stop following abounce-back reversal.

Displays direction indicators, blind spotinformation (if direction indicators are active)and cross traffic alert.
Left Information Group
Displays incoming call information.
ADAS Display Area

Navigation Display Area
Displays navigation next turn instructions.
Status Bar
Displays distance to empty (DTE), time andoutside air temperature. Next to DTE, thefuel gauge fill color changes to yellow in lowfuel conditions. You can switch off the statusbar in the HUD settings menu.
Speedometer Display Area
Displays current vehicle speed, speed limit(if available in the map database) and yourtransmission gear selection.
Configuring The Head Up Display
You can control the system's options throughthe information display by using the HUD,OK and arrow buttons on the right-hand sideof your steering wheel. See GeneralInformation (page 120). You can adjust thedisplay according to your height to makeviewing the content easier. You can alsoadjust what content displays and thebrightness of the content. The system'soptions appear in the instrument clusterwhile the updates happen in the HUD.
Note:If HUD On is unchecked, other optionsof the system are hidden.
Note:The HUD menu automatically closesafter a certain period of inactivity.
Note:The HUD image brightnessautomatically adjusts to the brightness ofthe ambient environment. You have theability to adjust the brightness furtheraccording to your preference.
Note:In some instances, sunlight can causesome reflections in and around the HUDimage.

AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL
Note:You can switch temperature unitsbetween Fahrenheit and Celsius through thetouchscreen

Accessing the Climate Control Menu
Press and release the button toaccess additional controls for thefront climate system. See SYNC™3 (page 441).
Accessing Rear Climate Controls
Press and release the button toaccess additional controls for therear climate system. See SYNC™3 (page 441).
Setting the Blower Motor Speed
Turn the control to adjust the volume of aircirculated in the vehicle.
Note:The blower motor speed may reducewhen using the voice commands of theSYNC system. Press and hold the A/C andrecirculated air buttons simultaneously andincrease the blower motor speed to disableor re-enable this feature.
Setting the Temperature
Press the toggle button on the left-hand sideof the climate control upward or downwardto set the left-hand temperature.
Note:This control also adjusts the right-handside temperature when you switch off dualzone mode.
Press the toggle button on the right-handside of the climate control upward ordownward to set the right-hand temperature.
Switching Auto Mode On and Off
Press and release the button tocycle through the automaticsettings and off, then set thetemperature.
When three indicators are on, the blowermotor adjusts to the highest speed to reachthe selected temperature as quickly aspossible.
When two indicators are on, the blowermotor adjusts to a medium speed to reachthe selected temperature with a reducedamount of cabin noise.
