s DOOR FENDER PANEL I DOOR PANEL 5 2 1.0 (0.2 rt 0.04) SEC. A-A mm (in} 05UOSX-o( Adjustment Door lock striker 1. Verify that the door can be closed easily and whether there is any looseness. If there is a problem, loosen the striker mounting screws and adjust by moving the striker vertically. 2. Verify the rear offset of the door to the body. If there is a problem, adjust by moving the door lock striker vertically. Tightening torque: 18-26 N.m (1 .&2.7 kgf.m, 14--19 ftlbf) Door Loosen the hinge bolts and adjust as shown in the figure. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 22-30 N.m (2.2-3.1 kgf-m, 16-22 ftlbf) Door wedge Verify the alignment of door wedge and dovetail. If there is a problem, adjust by moving the door wedge vertically. Tightening torque 4.3-6.2 N-m (43-63 kgf.cm, 37.3-54.7 in.lbf) Gartner Banana

AUDIO Clock The clock can be adjusted during radio, tape, or CD play. At this point, press H button to advance hours and M button to advance minutes Press clock button again to return to normal display If clock button is pressed again while clock display is flashing and time has not been adjusted (that is, H and M buttons have not been pressed), min- utes will be set at :00. If time before adjustment showed 30-59 minutes, time will be set at next hour For example, Operation Press knob to turn ALC on or off 1. At ON, ALC adjusts sound corresponding to vehicle speed; ALC indica- tor light turns on 2. AUDIO T Step 7 1. Disconnect the audio unit connector (12-pin). 2. Check for continuity between the audio unit connector and door speaker connector. If a connection is poor or loose, repair or replace it. 4. If the connections are OK, go to Step 3. SRS AIR BAG SYSTEM T AIR BAG MODULE DISPOSAL PROCEDURE Before scrapping a vehicle with an undeployed air bag module, deploy the air bag. Never dispose of a live air bag module. If the deployment tool SST is not available, consult the nearest Mazda representa- i/ tive for assistance. 46UOTX-908 Air Bag Deployment 1. Move the vehicle to an open space, away from strong winds, and open all of the vehicle's doors. 2. Deactivate the audio antitheft system, if installed. (Refer to page T-120.) 3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 4. Follow the appropriate procedure for the driver-side or passenger-side air bag module. Driver-side air bag module (1 ) Make sure the air bag module is firmly mounted to the steering wheel. (2) Remove the lower panel. (3) Disconnect the orange and blue clock spring con- nectors. (4) Inspect the SST. (Refer to page T-217.) (5) Connect the SST to the clock spring connector as shown in the figure. Passenger-side air bag module (1) Remove the glove compartment. (2) Disconnect the orange and blue passenger-side air bag module connector. Gartner Banana
