Field Communication) and Secure Element.
R Suf ficient charge leve l of the mobile
phone. On some mobile phones, the function
is also available when the battery is dis‐
ch arge d.
If th eve hicle has been par kedfo r longer than
two weeks, the NFC aerial in the door handle is
deactivated. Pull the door handle toactivate the
NFC aerial again. 64

quirements:
R The key must be outside theve hicle.
R The dis tance between theke y and theve hicle
must not exceed 1 m.
R The driver's door and the door at which the

Ifyo u wish tolock theve hicle entirely using
th e emer gency key,firs t press the button for
locking from the inside while the driver's
door is open. Then proceed tolock the driv‐
er's door using the emer gency key element. #
Insert the emer gency key as far as it will go
into opening 1inthe co ver. #
Pull and hold the door handle. #
Pull the co ver on the emer gency key as
st ra ight as possible away from theve hicle
until it releases. #
Release the door handle. #
Tounlo ck:turn the emer gency key anti-
clo ckwise toposition 1. #
Tolock: turnthe emer gency key clo ckwise to
position 1. #
Carefully press the co ver onto the lock cylin‐
der until it engages and is seated firm ly. Boot

WARNING Risk ofexhaust gas poisoning
Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
ga ses such as carbon monoxide. Exhaust
ga ses can enter theve hicle interior if the
boot lid is open when the engine is running,
especially if theve hicle is in motion. #
Alw ays switch off the engine before
opening the boot lid. #
Never drive with the boot lid open. 68

Au tomatic reve rsing function of the boot lid
If an object restricts the boot lid during the auto‐
matic closing process, the boot lid opens again
automaticall y.The automatic reve rsing function
is only an aid and is not a substitute foryo ur
attentiveness. #
When closing, make sure that no body parts
are in the closing area. &
WARNING Risk of becoming trapped
despi tereve rsing function
The reve rsing function does not react:
R tosoft, light and thin objects, e.g. fingers.
R overth e last 8 mm of the closing path.
In these situations in particular, there ve rsing
function cannot pr event someone being trap‐
ped. #
When closing, ma kesure that no body
parts are in the closing area. #
If someone is trapped, use one of the
fo llowing options:
R Press thep button on thekey.
R Press there mo teoperating switch
on the driver's door.
R Press the closing or locking button
on the boot lid.

attention toroad and traf fic conditions. #
Ope rate the soft-to p switch again in
order toopen or close the soft top full y. The cur
rent procedu reisstopped at a speed
abo ve60 km/h. The Open/close top completely
messa geis shown on the multifunction displa y. #
Reduce your speed and press or pull soft- top
switch 1again.
If th e soft top does not close fully because of
stro ng headwinds, drive sl ower or stop. Re

WARNING Risk of becoming trapped

ed ly
If yo u do not fully open/close the soft top,
th e soft-to phy draulics depressurise af ter a
short time.
This causes the soft topto lowe r unexpect‐
edly and may cause you or others tobe trap‐
ped. #
Alw ays fully open or close the soft top. If
th e soft top is not loc ked fully:
R theOpen/close top completely message is
shown in the multifunction displa y.
R you hear a warning tone for up to te n sec‐
onds when pulling away or while driving. #
Pull over and stop theve hicle safely as soon
as possible, paying attention toroad and traf‐
fi c conditions. #
