Mercedes-Benz tests original pa rts and con ver-
sion parts and accessory parts that ha vebeen
speci/cally appr ovedfo ryo ur vehicle model for
th eir reliability, saf ety and suitability. Despite
ongoing mar ketre sear ch, Mercedes-Benz is
unable toassess other parts. Mercedes-Benz
th erefore accepts no responsibility forth e use of
such parts in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, even if
th ey have been o1cially appr oved or independ-
ently appr ovedby ate sting centre. Ce
rtain parts are only o1cial lyappr ovedfor
installation or modi/cation if they comply with
legal requ irements. All Mercedes-Benz Genuine-
Pa rts meet the appr oval requ irements. The use of
non-appr oved parts may in validate theve hicle's
ge neral ope rating permit.

cles. The quality or saf ety of theve hicle is
impr oved as a result of the inspection.
Mercedes-Benz can only inform you about vehicle
ch ecks if Mercedes-Benz has your registration
data.
It is possible that your vehicle has not yetbeen
re gistered in your name in thefo llowing cases:

de veloping vehicle systems, comple tely rule out
th e interaction of vehicle systems with elect ronic
medical aids such as ca rdiac pacemake rs.
In addition, there are components installed in the
ve hicle that, rega rdless of the operating status of
th eve hicle, can generate magnetic /elds on a par
with permanent magnets. These /elds can be
fo und, forex ample, in the area around the multi-
media and sound system or also in the area of the

Objects trapped under the co-driver seat can
inter fere with the function of the automatic
co-driver airbag shuto. or damage the system. #
Do not store any objects under the co-
driver seat. #
When the co-driver seat is occupied,
make sure that no objects are trapped
under the co-driver seat. When /tting a
child restraint system tothe front
passenger seat, obser vetheve hicle-speci/c infor-
mation (/ page 75). Also, alw ays obser vethe
no tes on rear wa rd-facing or forw ard-facing child
re straint systems on the front passenger seat
(/ page 74).
A person on the front passenger seat must

a ch ild carefully before every journe y.
Ne ver allow babies and children totrave l sitting
on the lap of ano ther vehicle occupant.
To impr oveprotection forch ildren younger than
12 years old or under 1.50 m in height,
Mercedes-Benz recommends you obser vethefo l-
lowing information:
R Always secure thech ild in a child restraint sys-
te m suitable forth is Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
R The child restraint system must be appropria te
to the age, weight and size of thech ild. R
The vehicle seat must be suitable for /tting a
ch ild restraint system (/ page 63).
Ac cident statistics show that children secured on
th ere ar seats are generally sa ferth an children
secured on the front seats. Forth is reason,

The generic term child restraint system is used in
th is Owner's Manual. A child restraint system is,

Mercedes-Benz recommends using a child
booster seat with a backrest.
The child restraint system must be appropria te to
