CAUTION:
Under the following conditions, ABS is activated an d vibration is felt when brake pedal is lightly
depressed (just place a foot on it). However, this is normal.
• When shifting gears
• When driving on slippery road
• During cornering at high speed
• When passing over bumps or grooves [approximately 50 mm (1.97 in) or more]
• When pulling away just after starting engine [at approximately 10 km/h (6 MPH) or higher]
1.SYMPTOM CHECK 1
Check that there are pedal vibrat ions when the engine is started.
Do symptoms occur?
YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> Inspect the brake pedal.
2.SYMPTOM CHECK 2
Check that there are ABS operation noises when the engine is started.
Do symptoms occur?
YES >> GO TO 3.
NO >> Perform “Self Diagnostic Result”. Refer to BRC-31, "
CONSULT Function (ABS)".
3.SYMPTOM CHECK 3
Check symptoms when electrical component (headlamps, etc.) switches are operated.
Do symptoms occur?
YES >> Check if there is a radio, antenna, antenna lead wire, or wiring close to the control unit. If there is,
move it farther away.
NO >> Inspection End.

Hazard and horn reminders do not operate if any door switch is ON (any door is OPEN).
Hazard reminder can be changed using “HAZARD LAMP SET” in “Work support”.
Horn reminder can be changed using “HORN CHIRP SET” in “Work support”.
Refer to
BCS-92, "

Without CONSULT
Refer to Owner’s Manual for instructions.
AUTO DOOR LOCK OPERATION
When all doors are locked, ignition switch is OFF and key switch is OFF (mechanical key is removed from the
ignition cylinder), doors are unlocked with keyfob butt on. When BCM does not receive the following signals
within 1 minute, all doors are locked:
• Door switch is ON (door is opened).
• Door is locked.
• Ignition switch is ON.
• Key switch is ON (mechanical key is inserted in the ignition cylinder).
Auto door lock mode can be changed by “AUTO LOCK SET” in “Work support”. Refer to BCS-92, "
MULTI
REMOTE ENT : CONSULT Function (BCM - MULTI REMOTE ENT)".
PANIC ALARM OPERATION
When key switch is OFF (mechanical key is removed from the ignition cylinder), BCM turns ON and OFF horn
and headlamp intermittently with input of PANIC ALARM signal from keyfob.
BCM outputs to headlamps and IPDM E/R for panic alar m signal (horn signal) via CAN communication lines.
The alarm automatically turns OFF after 25 seconds or when BCM receives any signal from keyfob.
Panic alarm operation mode can be changed using “PANIC ALARM SET” in “Work support”.
Refer to BCS-92, "
MULTI REMOTE ENT : CONSULT Function (BCM - MULTI REMOTE ENT)".
INTERIOR LAMP TIMER OPERATION
When the following conditions occur, remote keyless entry system turns on interior lamp for 15 seconds with
input of UNLOCK signal from keyfob: For detailed description, refer to INL-7, "
INTERIOR ROOM LAMP CON-
TROL SYSTEM : System Description".
• Interior room lamp switch is in the DOOR position.
• Door switch OFF (when all the doors are closed).

DescriptionINFOID:0000000012431358
Idle Air Volume Learning is a function of ECM to learn the idle air volume that keeps each engine idle speed
within the specific range. It must be performed under any of the following conditions:
• Each time electric throttle control actuator or ECM is replaced.
• Idle speed or ignition timing is out of specification.
Refer to
EC-130, "
Work Procedure".
Work ProcedureINFOID:0000000012431359
1.PRECONDITIONING
Make sure that all of the following conditions are satisfied.
Learning will be cancelled if any of the follo wing conditions are missed for even a moment.
• Battery voltage: More than 12.9 V (At idle)
• Engine coolant temperature: 70 - 100 °C (158 - 212° F)
• Selector lever: P or N (CVT), Neutral (M/T)
• Electric load switch: OFF
(Air conditioner, headlamp, rear window defogger)
- For vehicles equipped with dayt ime light systems, perform one of the following procedures before
starting engine not to illuminate headlamps.
• Apply parking brake
• Set lighting switch to the 1st position
• Steering wheel: Neutral (Straight-ahead position) position
• Vehicle speed: Stopped
• Transmission: Warmed-up
- CVT models
• With CONSULT: Drive vehicle until “FLUID TEMP SE ” in “DATA MONITOR” mode of “TRANSMISSION” sys-
tem indicates less than 0.9 V.
• Without CONSULT: Drive vehicle for 10 minutes.
- M/T models
• Drive vehicle for 10 minutes.
Do you have CONSULT?
