5.PERFORM “CALIBRATING CAMERA IMAGE”
Preparation of target line
1. Hang a string with a weight as shown in the figure. Put the points FM0, RM0 (mark) on the ground at the
center of the vehicle front end and rear end with white packing tape or a pen.
2. Route the vinyl string under the vehicle, and then pull and fix it on the point approximately 1.0 m (39.9 in)
to the front and rear of the vehicle thr ough the points FM0 and RM0 using packing tape.

3. Put the points FM and RM (mark) 75 cm (29. 5 in) from the points FM0 and RM0 individually.
4. Route the vinyl string through the points FM and RM us ing a triangle scale, and then fix it at approximately
1.5 m (59 in) on both sides with packing tape.
5. Put the points FL, FR, RL, and RR (mark) to both right and left [vehicle width / 2 + 30 cm (11.8 in)] from the points FM and RM.

PRECAUTIONS IN REPAIRING HIGH STRENGTH STEEL
High Strength Steel (HSS)INFOID:0000000012430793
High strength steel is used for body panels in order to reduce vehicle weight.
Accordingly, precautions in repairing automotive bodies made of high strength steel are described below:
SP130 is the most commonly used HSS.
Read the following precautions when repairing HSS:
1. Additional points to consider
• The repair of reinforcements (such as side members) by heat-
ing is not recommended since it may weaken the component.
When heating is unavoidable, do not heat HSS parts above
550° C (1,022° F).
Verify heating temperature with a thermometer.
(Crayon-type and other similar type thermometer are appropri-
ate.)
• When straightening body panels, use caution in pulling any HSS panel. Because HSS is very strong, pulling may cause
deformation in adjacent portions of the body. In this case,
increase the number of measuring points, and carefully pull
the HSS panel.
• When cutting HSS panels, avoid gas (torch) cutting if possible. Instead, use a saw to avoid weakening surrounding areas due
to heat. If gas (torch) cutting is unavoidable, allow a minimum
margin of 50 mm (1.97in).

Switches the fluid pressure line to increase or hold according to signals from control unit.
ABS OUT Valve
Switches the fluid pressure line to increase, hold or decrease according to signals from control unit.
Cut Valve 1, Cut Valve 2
Shuts off the ordinary brake line from master cylinder, when VDC function and TCS function are activated.
Suction Valve 1, Suction Valve 2
Supplies the brake fluid from master cylinder to the pump, when VDC function and TCS function are activated.
Return Check Valve
Returns the brake fluid from brake caliper and wheel cyli nder to master cylinder by bypassing orifice of each
valve when brake is released.
Reservoir
Temporarily reserves the brake fluid drained from brake caliper, so that pressure efficiently decreases when
decreasing pressure of brake caliper and wheel cylinder.
Yaw rate/side/decel G sensor
Calculates the following information that affects the v ehicle, and transmits a signal to ABS actuator and elec-
tric unit (control unit) via communication lines:
• Vehicle rotation angular velocity (yaw rate signal)
• Vehicle lateral acceleration (side G signal) and longitudinal acceleration (decel G signal)
Pressure Sensor
Detects the brake fluid pressure and transmits signal to ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).

NOTE:
• Wheel sensor of front wheel is installed on steering knuckle.
• Sensor rotor of front wheel is integrated in wheel hub assembly.
• Wheel sensor of rear wheel is installed on back plate of rear brake.
• Sensor rotor of rear wheel is installed on rear brake drum.
• Never measure resistance and voltage value using a tester because sensor is active sensor.
• Downsize and weight reduction is aimed. IC for detection portion
and magnet for sensor rotor are adopted.
• Power supply is supplied to detection portion so that magnetic field
line is read. Magnetic field that is detected is converted to current
signal.
• When sensor rotor rotates, magnetic field changes. Magnetic field
change is converted to current signals (rectangular wave) and is
transmitted to ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Change
of magnetic field is pr oportional to wheel speed.
Stop Lamp SwitchINFOID:0000000012430830
Detects the operation status of brake pedal and transmits converted electric signal to ABS actuator and elec-
tric unit (control unit).

Detects the following information and transmits steering angle signal to ABS actuator and electric unit (control

• Steering wheel rotation amount
• Steering wheel rotation angular velocity

SYSTEM DIAGRAM
• By preventing rear wheel slip increase through rear wheel brake force (brake fluid pressure) control that is
electronically controlled when slight skip on front and rear wheels are detected during braking, stability dur-
ing braking is improved.
• EBD function is expanded and developed from conventional ABS function and corrects rear wheel brake force to appropriate level by electronic control according to load weight (number of passengers).

REMOVAL
1. Support hood assembly using a suitable tool.
WARNING:
Bodily injury may occur if hood assembly is not supported properly when removing hood assem-
bly.
2. Remove hood hinge nuts and hood assembly.
3. Remove clips and hood insulator (if necessary).

HOOD
CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
1. Loosen hood hinge nuts and bolts.
2. Loosen hood lock assembly bolts.
3. Adjust the hood lock assembly so the clearance m
easurements are within the specifications provided.
4. Tighten hood hinge nuts and bolts to specified torque.
5. Tighten hood lock assembly bolts to specified torque.
HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
1. Loosen hood lock assembly bolts.
2. Adjust the surface height of hood assembly to front upper grille, front fender and front combination lamp to
the specified values by rotating hood bumper rubber.
3. Temporarily tighten hood lock assembly bolts.
4. Adjust (A) as shown to the following value with hood’s own weight by dropping it from approximately 200 mm (7.87 in) height or by pressing hood lightly [approximately 29 N (3.0 kg, 6.5 lb)].
5. After adjustment, tighten hood lock assembly bolts to specified torque.
HOOD HINGE

REMOVAL
1. Remove hood assembly. Refer to DLK-140, "HOOD ASSEMBLY : Removal and Installation".
2. Remove front fender. Refer to DLK-147, "
Removal and Installation".
3. Remove cowl top side cover. Refer to EXT-36, "
Exploded View".
4. Remove hood hinge bolts and hood hinge.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
• Before installing the hood hinge, apply anticorrosive agent onto the surface of the vehicle.

CAUTION:
• Use two people when removing or inst alling front door due to its heavy weight
• When removing and installing front door assembl y, support the door using a suitable tool.
• Do not use air tools or electric tools for servicing.
• Before servicing, turn ignition sw itch off, disconnect both battery terminals and wait at least three
minutes.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery positive and negative terminal s and wait at least three minutes. Refer to PG-70,
"Removal and Installation (Battery)".
2. Remove dash side finisher. Refer to INT-24, "
DASH SIDE FINISHER : Removal and Installation".
3. Disconnect the harness connectors from the front door.
4. Remove door check link bolt (body side).
5. Remove door hinge nuts (door side) and front door assembly.

REMOVAL
CAUTION:
• Use two people when removing or installing front door due to its heavy weight
• When removing and installing front door assembly, support the door using a suitable tool.
• Use shops cloths to protect surrounding components from damage during removal and installation of front door assembly.

2. Remove front door assembly. Refer to DLK-149, "

3. Remove front door hinge bolts (body side) and front door hinge.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
• Apply anticorrosive agent to the hinge mating surface.
• After installation, perform the front door adjustment procedure. Refer to DLK-150, "
DOOR ASSEM-
BLY : Adjustment".
• Check door hinge rota ting point for poor lubrication. If neces-
sary, apply a suitable multi-purpose grease.

2. Remove door check link bolt (body side).
3. Remove door check link bolts (door side) and remove.
INSTALLATION

2. Loosen door hinge nuts (door side).
3. Adjust the surface height of rear door according to the specifications provided.
4. Temporarily tighten door hinge nuts (door side).
5. Loosen door hinge nuts and bolts (body side).
6. Raise rear door at rear end to adjust clearance of rear door according to the specifications provided.
7. After adjustment tighten bolts and nuts to the specified torque. CAUTION:
• Apply touch-up paint (body color) to the head of hinge bolts and nuts.
• Check door hinge rotating point for poor lubricat ion. If necessary, apply a suitable multi-purpose
grease.
8. Install center pillar lower finisher. Refer to INT-25, "
CENTER PILLAR LOWER FINISHER : Removal and
Installation".

REMOVAL
Remove bolts and rear door striker.
INSTALLATION
