Removal and InstallationBIS0011P
FRONT AND REAR DOOR OUTSIDE LOWER MOLDING
Removal
1. Half-open front door and rear door.
2. Remove nuts from back of door panel.
3. Disengage mounting clips from molding rear end to front end using a clip clamp remover.
4. Remove door outside lower molding from body side after disengaging.
5. Slide molding toward rear of vehicle, and then remove front end clip.
CAUTION:
After removal, visually inspect molding, and if it is deformed, replace it with new molding.
Installation
Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
When installing, confirm clips are accurately aligned with the holes on body side panel, then press in.

TRUNK LID FINISHER
4. Remove trunk lid finisher upper mounting clips, and then pull out
trunk lid finisher upper toward rear of vehicle.
5. Disconnect request switch harness connector (only for models with intelligent key) after pulling out, then
remove trunk lid finisher upper.
6. Continuously, remove trunk lid finisher lower mounting clips the same as in step 4, and then remove trunk
lid finisher lower.
CAUTION:
After removal, visually inspect finisher, and if it is deformed, replace it with new molding.
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Replace double-faced adhesive tape on back of finisher with a new tape if trunk lid finisher (lower)
is reused.
Remove double-faced adhesive tape remaining on body and back of finisher using double-faced
adhesive tape remover (SUMITOMO 3M Cleaner 30 or equivalent) when removing finisher (lower).
Install after cleaning adhesive parts of body side and back of finisher (lower).
Do not wash the vehicle within 24 hours after installing so as to keep adhesive.

FRONT AND REAR DOOR FINISHER
Removal
1. Fully open door window.
2. Remove inside handle escutcheon cap.
3. Remove inside handle escutcheon screw.
4. Insert a remover tool A into power window switch finisher (front)
(1), lift up front end and disengage metal clip. Pull out finisher
toward front of vehicle.
CAUTION:
Lift up rear end of power window switch finisher (rear) and
disengage metal clips, and then pull out finisher toward
rear of vehicle.
5. Disconnect power window switch harness connector after pulling out, and then remove power window
switch finisher.
6. Remove power window switch screws.
7. Insert a clip clamp remover into clips on back of door trim, and
disengage clips.
CAUTION:
Insert a clip clamp remover into the part shown by the
arrow (between the clips and the body side panel). Remove
door trim.
8. Disconnect harness connector for trunk lid opener after disengaging.
9. Disconnect harness connector for seat memory switch (1) and
indirect lighting (2).
10. Disconnect harness connector for step lamp.
11. Pull up door trim and pull out toward vehicle inside, and then dis-
connect inside handle cable (3) and lock knob cable (2) from
inside handle (1).

REAR PARCEL SHELF FINISHER
REMOVAL
1. Remove rear seatback and rear seat cushion. Refer to SE-112, "REAR SEAT" .
2. Remove rear seat belt floor anchor bolt and rear seat belt shoulder anchor bolt. Refer to SB-5, "
Removal
and Installation of Rear Seat Belt" .
3. Disengage child anchor cover front pawls, and then pull out child
anchor cover (LH/RH center) toward front of vehicle.(Models
with rear window sunshade)
4. Remove rear kicking plate inner, rear seatback finisher, rear pillar finisher. Refer to EI-38, "
BODY SIDE
TRIM" .
5. Disconnect high-mounted stop lamp harness connector from
trunk room side. (Models without rear window sunshade)
6. Disconnect high-mounted stop lamp harness connector from
front side of rear parcel shelf finisher. (Models with rear window
sunshade)
7. Remove rear parcel shelf finisher mounting clip using a clip clamp remover.
8. Remove rear parcel shelf finisher while disengaging dual-lock fastener on back of rear parcel shelf fin-
isher. (Models with rear window sunshade)
9. Remove the following parts after removing rear parcel shelf finisher.
Rear speaker grille (for woofer)
High-mounted stop lamp
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.

8. Remove A/C drain hose from A/C unit.
9. Cut floor trim tunnel upper side (Section A, B, C) using cutter
knife.
10. Disengage floor trim securing clips after cutting, and then pull
out floor trim toward vehicle outside.
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Install by cutting Section A, B, C on center of floor tunnel when replacing floor trim with a new one.
After that, ensure matching quality between floor trim and center console lid by tucking.

HEADLINING
8. Remove sun-visor holder (LH/RH).
NOTE:
Insert a screwdriver into the cutout and rotate 90 degrees to
remove.
9. Remove clips from back of front roof finisher, and then pull out
front roof finisher toward front of vehicle to remove it. (with sun-
roof model)
10. Pull out sunroof motor harness connector from front roof finisher
mounting hole to disconnect. (with sunroof model)
11. Pull out spot lamp (map lamp) toward lower side of vehicle and disconnect harness connector.
12. Disconnect harness connector for hands-free phone microphone. (Only for models with Car wings unit)
13. Pull spot lamp holder assembly toward vehicle lower, and disen-
gage dual-lock fastener and metal clips.

14. Push headlining toward rear of vehicle after removing, Pull out
clip holder of headlining rear end from clips and remove roof
hook on front of sunroof opening at the same time.
15. Remove front end of headlining right side from front door LH
opening so as to avoid center console finisher upper surface
after pulling out.
CAUTION:
When removing, 2 workers are required. (1 for each front
and rear of headlining)
Cover center console finisher upper surface with a shop
cloth so as to prevent it from being damaged.
Set A/T selector lever to D position, and make a space to
remove front end of headlining right side.
Do not bend headlining when removing.
16. Remove the following parts after removing headlining.
Personal lamp (LH/RH)
Roof harness assembly
Spot lamp holder assembly
Headlining rear end clip (removing on roof rail)
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Install headlining assembly after inserting clips to clip holder of headlining rear end.

11. Remove circular clip from shaft.
12. Remove boot from shaft.
13. Clean the old grease on joint sub-assembly with paper towels.
14. Apply the appropriate amount of grease (NISSAN genuine
grease or equivalent) inside joint sub-assembly serration hole
until grease begins to ooze from ball groove and serration hole.
After inserting grease, use a shop cloth to wipe off old grease
that has oozed out.
15. Wrap serration on shaft with tape to protect boot from damage.
Install new boot and boot bands to shaft.
NOTE:
Do not reuse boot bands and boot.
16. Remove the tape wrapped around the serration on shaft.
17. Position circular clip on groove at shaft edge. Align both counter
axles of shaft edge and joint sub-assembly. Then, assemble
shaft with circular clip onto joint sub-assembly.
NOTE:
Do not reuse circular clip.
Drive joint inserter (suitable tool) is recommended when
installing circular clip.
18. Install joint sub-assembly to shaft using plastic hammer.
CAUTION:
Confirm that joint sub-assembly is correctly engaged while
rotating drive shaft.
19. Apply the balance of the specified amount of grease (NISSAN
genuine grease or equivalent) into boot inside from large diame-
ter side of boot.

5. Remove snap ring, and then remove ball cage, steel ball and
inner race assembly from shaft.
6. Remove boot from shaft.
7. Remove circular clip and dust shield from housing.
8. Clean old grease on housing with paper towels.
Wheel Side
1. Place shaft in a vise.
CAUTION:
When retaining shaft in a vise, always use copper or aluminum plates between vise and shaft.
2. Remove boot bands, and then remove boot from joint sub-assembly.
3. Screw drive shaft puller (suitable tool) 30 mm (1.18 in) or more
over the thread on joint sub-assembly, and pull joint sub-assem-
bly out of shaft.
CAUTION:
Replace entire drive shaft assembly if joint sub-assembly
cannot be removed after five or more unsuccessful
attempts.
Align sliding hammer and drive shaft and remove them
by pulling firmly and uniformly.
4. Remove circular clip from shaft.
5. Remove boot from shaft.
6. Clean old grease on joint sub-assembly with paper towels while rotating ball cage.
Dynamic Damper
Remove band. Then, remove dynamic damper from shaft.
INSPECTION AFTER DISASSEMBLY
Shaft
Check shaft for runout, cracks, or other damage. Replace if there are.
Joint Sub-Assembly (Wheel Side)
Check joint sub-assembly for rough rotation and excessive axial looseness.
Check the inside of joint sub-assembly for entry of foreign material.
Check joint sub-assembly for compression scars, cracks, and fractures inside of joint sub-assembly.
Replace joint sub-assembly if there is any of non-standard conditions of components.
Housing (Transaxle Side)
NOTE:
Housing, ball cage, steel ball, and inner race are in a set.
Housing
Check ball rolling surface for compression scars, cracks, fractures, and excessive wear.
Check boot mount for deformation.
Ball Cage
Check sliding surface for compression scars, cracks, and fractures.
Steel Ball
Check for compression scars, cracks, fractures, and excessive wear.
Inner Race
Check ball sliding surface for compression scars, cracks, and fractures.
Check serration for damage.

COMPONENT
DISASSEMBLY
Transaxle side
1. For transaxle side housing is non-disassemble, removing boots from shaft is done after removing dynamic
damper and band, and after procedure of disassembly instruction 1 to 5 for wheel side.
2. Remove boots band, then remove boots from housing, and remove boots from shaft the above service
Wheel Side
1. Place shaft in a vise.
CAUTION:
When retaining shaft in a vise, always use copper or aluminum plates between vise and shaft.
2. Remove boot bands, and then remove boot from joint sub-assembly.
3. Screw drive shaft puller (suitable tool) 30 mm (1.18 in) or more
onto the thread on joint sub-assembly, and pull joint sub-assem-
bly out of shaft.
CAUTION:
Replace entire drive shaft assembly if joint sub-assembly
cannot be removed after five or more unsuccessful
attempts.
Align sliding hammer and drive shaft and remove them
by pulling firmly and uniformly.
4. Remove circular clip from shaft.
5. Remove boot from shaft.
6. Clean old grease on joint sub-assembly with paper towels while rotating ball cage.
