HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LAMP - WITH REAR SPOILER
The high-mount stop lamp is integrated into the rear spoiler and is serviced as an assembly. Refer to EXT-38,
"Removal and Installation".
HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LAMP - WITH PARCEL SHELF
Removal
1. Slide high-mounted stop lamp (1) rearward on parcel shelf to
provide clearance for front tabs (A).
2. Lift front of lamp assembly up and pull forward to provide clear- ance for rear tabs (B).
3. Disconnect the harness connector from the high-mounted stop lamp and remove.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the core support cover clips (A), then remove the core support cover (1).
2. Partially remove the front fender protectors (LH/RH). Refer to EXT-26, "FENDER PROTECTOR :
Removal and Installation".
3. Remove the front under cover. Refer to EXT-28, "Removal and Installation"
.
4. Remove the hood ledge finisher.
5. Remove the front bumper fascia to upper fender screws (A) (LH/ RH), then rotate clockwise each front bumper fascia upper side
bracket (1) to remove.

FRONT BUMPER
6. Remove the front bumper fascia to fender screw (A) (LH/RH).
7. Disconnect the harness connectors from front fog lamps (LH/RH) (if equipped).
8. Disconnect the harness connectors from turn signal and hazard warning lamps (LH/RH).
9. Release the front bumper fascia from the front bumper fascia side brackets (LH/RH).
10. Remove the front bumper fascia by releasing in the order shown.
CAUTION:
When removing front bumper fascia, two people are
required to avoid damaging.
11. Remove the front energy absorber.
12. Remove the front bumper reinforcement bracket bolts (A) and the front bumper reinforcement bracket (1).
13. Remove the front bumper reinforcement nuts, then the front bumper reinforcement.
14. Remove the front bumper support bolts, then t he front bumper reinforcement supports (LH/RH).
15. Remove the following parts after removing front bumper fascia. • Front grille
• Front bumper fascia (LH/RH) finisher (if equipped)
• Tow cover
• Turn signal and hazard warning lamps (LH/RH). Refer to EXL-130, "Removal and Installation"
.
• Front fog lamp finishers (LH/RH) (if equipped)
• Front fog lamp assemblies (LH/RH) (if equipped)
• Front bumper fascia side brackets (LH/RH)
• Front license plate bracket (if equipped)
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
• Adjust fog lamp aiming (if equipped). Refer to EXL-124, "Aiming Adjustment"
.

6. Pull rear bumper fascia outward in the order as shown by thearrows to release from rear bumper side brackets (LH/RH).

7. Remove the rear bumper fascia. CAUTION:
When removing rear bumper fascia, two people are required to avoid damaging.
8. Remove the rear bumper side brackets (LH/RH) from the rear bumper fascia.
9. Remove rear bumper energy absorber.
10. Remove the nuts and the rear bumper reinforcement.
11. Remove the nuts and the rear bumper supports (LH/RH).
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

6. Disconnect the fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter and fuel pump
assembly harness connector (C), EVAP hose quick connector
(A), and the fuel feed hose quick connector (B) from the fuel
level sensor unit, fuel filter, and fuel pump assembly.
Remove the quick connector as follows:
• Hold the sides of the connector, push in tabs and pull out the
tube.
• If the connector and the tube are stuck together, push and pull several times until they start to move. Then disconnect them
by pulling.
CAUTION:
• The tube can be removed when the tabs are completely
depressed. Do not twist it more than necessary.
• Do not use any tools to remove the quick connector.
• Keep the resin tube away from heat. Be especially careful
when welding near the tube.
• Prevent acid liquid such as battery electroly te, etc. from getting on the resin tube.
• Do not bend or twist the tube during installation and removal.
• Only when the tube is replaced, remove the remaining retainer on the tube or fuel level sensor,
fuel filter, and fuel pump assembly.
• When the tube or fuel level sen sor, fuel filter, and fuel pump assembly is replaced, also replace
the retainer with a new one (green colored retainer).
• To keep the connecting portio n clean and to avoid dam-
age and foreign materials, cover them completely with
plastic bags or something similar.
7. Remove the lock ring using a socket drive handle and Tool (A). CAUTION:
Discard the lock ring if damaged or distorted.

quick connector.

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION
Use the following procedure to check for fuel leaks.
1. Turn ignition switch “ON” (with engine stopped), t hen check connections for fuel leaks by applying fuel
pressure to fuel piping.
2. Start engine, raise idle, and verify there are no fuel leaks at the fuel system connections.

• As a guide, if the fuel tank is full the fuel leve
l reaches or is less than the level on the fuel gauge as
shown, when approximately 34 (9 US gal, 7 1/2 Imp gal) of fuel is drained from a full fuel tank.
3. Open the fuel filler cap to release the pressure inside the fuel tank.
4. Release fuel pressure from fuel line. Refer to EC-182, "Work Procedure"
(QR25DE), EC-687, "Work Pro-
cedure" (VQ35DE).
5. Remove rear seat cushion. Refer to SE-36, "Removal and Installation - Seat Assembly"
.
6. Turn the four retainers (A) 90 ° in a clockwise direction and
remove the fuel pump inspection hole cover.
7. Disconnect the fuel level sensor, fuel filter, and fuel pump assembly harness connector (C), EVAP hose quick connector
(A), and fuel feed hose (B) quick connector.
a. Disconnect the quick connectors as follows: • Hold the sides of the connector, push in tabs and pull out the
tube.
• If the connector and the tube are stuck together, push and pull

by pulling.

• Do not bend or twist the tube during installation and removal.
• Only when the tube is replaced, remove the remaining retainer on the tube or fuel level sensor,
fuel filter, and fuel pump assembly.
• When the tube or fuel level sen sor, fuel filter, and fuel pump assembly is replaced, also replace
the retainer with a new one (green colored retainer).
• To keep the connecting portio n clean and to avoid dam-
age and foreign materials, cover them completely with
plastic bags or something similar.

Disassembly
NOTE:
Before disassembly, note the proper placement of the wires to the correct terminals and correct wire routing to
the terminals.
1. Disconnect the red, white (A) and double black connector (B). • Press the tabs on the terminals to release the locking tabs.
