not present in all vehicles. The description
applies to all instrument versions.
The colours of the control indicators mean: >

Fog lamps 3
Control indicator lights up green
Illuminates when the fog lamps are on

Control indicator lights up and/or flashes
yellow
It illuminates for a few seconds when the
ignition is switched on.
Illuminates when the engine is running
Fault in engine electronics or transmission
electronics. Electronics switch to
emergency running programme, fuel
consumption may increase and driveability
of vehicle may be impaired 3116. If the
fault is not remedied by re-starting,
contact a workshop for assistance
immediately.
In vehicles with diesel engines, it may be
necessary to drain the diesel fuel filter

Turn signal lamps
Control indicator flashes green.
The control indicator flashes if a turn signal
or the hazard warning flashers are
activated.
Rapid flashing: lamp or associated fuse
has failed.
Replacing bulbs 3151. Fuses 3145.

Main beam
Control indicator lights up blue.
It is illuminated when main beam is on and
during headlamp flash 385.

Preheating3, diesel particle filter 3
Control indicator lights up and/or flashes
yellow
Illuminated
Preheating activated. Only activates when
outside temperatures are low.
Flashes

(in vehicles with diesel particle filter)
Control indicator ! flashes if the filter
requires cleaning and previous driving
conditions did not permit automatic
cleaning. Continue driving and if possible
do not allow engine speed to drop below
2000 rpm.

Heating and ventilation systemTemperature
Adjusted using left-hand rotary switch.
The amount of heat is dependent on the
coolant temperature and is thus not fully
attained until the engine is warm.

Air flow
Adjusted using centre rotary switch.
The rate of air flow is determined by the
fan. The fan should therefore also be
switched on during a journey.
